Spotted this on the JB site, seems like a good deal if you're looking for something over $300.

Terms:

  • Coupon offer ends 31/07/2023. Coupon redeemable from the day after purchase until 31/08/2023.
  • Coupon redeemable on purchases excluding Apple, Games consoles, Dyson, Telstra & Foxtel Services, Miele & Asko, Dell & Apple Built To Order, Prepaid Cards & Gift Cards, Pre-Orders, Extended Warranties & Delivery. Coupon cannot be used in conjunction with any other coupon offers.
  • Coupon can only be used once and must be surrendered upon use.
  • A discount value of $50 is calculated off the current ticket or advertised price (and not off any lower negotiated price) in a single transaction only. Balance is not transferable or redeemable for cash. Online purchases, the JB
  • Coupon will be sent within 7-10 days from order completion. Coupon offer not available at JB Hi-Fi Airport located stores.

I can't see any exclusion in the terms about buying gift cards to trigger the coupon, only that the coupon subsequently can't be used on gift cards, but YMMV. I would imagine this is excluded, so best to obtain confirmation from JB first before buying gift cards.

      Agreed unless you are really canny with your purchases and keep them to marginally over $300 and marginally over $50, it would equate to about 13%… but chances are you will be buying something you don't need to make up the transaction amount.

        It says redeemable the next day after purchase but then says wait 7 days what is it? I just placed a c&c order so do I wait 7 days or do I get it tomorrow according to my store they said by email wait 7 days for voucher.

          Wait 7 days if you order online. If you buy in store I assume the coupon prints out with the receipt.

        Thanks. I had two items that I had split payment. I tried to use the $50 for the second part but apparently the voucher will only be activated the following day. Now I’ve ended up with two $50 vouchers but would have been nicer if they could be combined. I could have come back the following day but the bundle price was only valid today.

      Same boat, purchased on 31/07, contacted support recently and their response was a generic “will be sent within 7-10 business days”. Today is the 9th business day, so will follow up on Monday when the “10th business day” clocks over. Really pathetic on their end especially considering the coupon expires end of August.
