Good find! These usually go above 110 without delivery included.

  • Great price! If only I didn't buy the shitty dobe one a year ago >:(

    • I bought the third party one a few years ago, but feel it's worth the upgrade if you're not the only one playing.

      • Guess it's not worth it then. Only I bang the drum in this household. I'll have to mod it

  • +2

    I paid $150 a year ago.

    • +2

Same - bought it for the kids for Christmas after waiting and waiting to see a deal.

    • +1

a year first is worth more than $50

  • Thank you! I've been waiting for a good special on this.

  • buy buy buy

  • That's good price.Got one year ago. Good fun

  • +1

I have one of these but it seems the blue hits (edge hits) don't seem to react as well. Not sure what I'm doing wrong or it's just the way it is?

    • Mine too. I heard that you’ll need to hit it hard when the drum is new to soften the plastic to make it more responsive.

      • Ahh I see. I literally have to bash the sides for it to register. Issue is the drum will also move like 10cm to the side.

        • I know what you mean. Sometimes I have to grip the drum with my legs to make it steady when playing. It’s annoying.

          • @FrugalNotStingy: At least your thighs get a good workout now! But after buying this maybe 2 years ago I've used it like twice ever knowing how bad the sensitivity is.

            • @navegante88: Did you get yours from this deal? I got mine from there.
I am frustrated with the Hori one and I thought of getting the Taiko Force LV5 as people rave about them but they are much more expensive.

    • +8

Definitely need to mod it to increase sensitivity. https://www.reddit.com/r/taikonotatsujin/comments/obs8ns/mod…

      • I'm keen on giving this mod a go

    • +1

Same. Honestly I wouldn't recommend these. I find it to be unresponsive to the point where I gave up and went back to a regular controller with buttons. There's nothing more frustrating than missing notes not because your timing is off but because the controller ignored you.

      • I agree. If it wasn’t the unresponsiveness, I would have got perfect scores for many of the rounds.
I find I had to whack it hard for it to register and with those edge hits for taiko drums, you should only need to hit the edge with light taps but not like bashing the edge.

This drum also doesn’t allow you to do drum rolling like the real stuff.

    Good deal.

Every time I walk past one of these in timezone, it's sitting there ready to start with credit already provided, yet noone is around. The two songs I get out of it for free helps scratch the itch that prevents me from needing to buy this for home.

    • +6

Pretty sure this happens because of kids parties. They all have unlimited play cards for an hour - a couple of friends go and swipe and then get distracted by a friend, or a different game, or cake or whatever - free credits.

I stupidly swiped a paid card to play Deadpool pinball the other day, then noticed there were 8 credits on it. Kids hate pinball.

  • Any recommendations on some after-market sticks?

    • +4

My hot take - a pair of regular drum sticks from your local music instrument shop.

  • Anyone seen the game cheap? I didn't get it in time when it was about $20

  • -3

I wish i picked these up when i was in japan.

They were only like $80 BNIB

    • +6

$93 delivered is very decent then.

    • +1

If you're willing to play on the Wii/Wii U (and don't mind some cleaning), there were stacks for $10-$30 from second hand shops.

    • I am flying to Japan in Oct. Are they still 80$

      • +2

It was just under 8200 yen (tax excluded when claiming back tax) at Bic Camera back in March when I went, so closer to $88 AUD. Add another 10% for tax if you don't present your passport.

Worth paying the extra $4 here to not have to lug the drum with you in your luggage.

  • Not bad! I was in the market for two, after reading reviews I went with IINE ones. They have been great for those looking for a slightly bigger drum and excellent feel. Can be had for under 80aud shipped from their AliExpress shop when on sale.

    • can they be used on PC?

  • buga only 2 players, was hoping to get another 3 for a smash out lol - god fun game

  • Does this come with the game as well? Or is that a separate purchase?

    • Maybe read the post……

    • Just the controller.

      Taiko and stick only

  • Taiko no tatsujin isn't on game pass anymore. I didn't realise until my controllers arrived earlier this year :')

    • +1

…but there are no Taiko controllers for Xbox One/ Series consoles to begin with.

      • You can use Switch controllers like this drum with the XBox with the right adaptor - Wingman etc

      • sorry i meant game pass on PC

        • Switch controllers on the PC just work - no adaptors needed 👌

  • The aliexpress one had too much latency. Also wish the website was still up fykyk

    • What website?;

      • +1

the browser taiko that got taken down by copyright

  • Don't have a switch but wish we did just to play this… how close is this to the arcade version?

    • +4

      Not very.

If you're close to an arcade, I'd play it there just to scratch the itch (and to not have to store the drum controller in the closet).

      • Thanks, that sounds like good advice.

        • I kind of regret getting it tbh. has nothing on the arcade version, AND doesn't have all the songs from the arcade version

  • Using the joycon isnt good, correct? Very lagging?

    • +1

there isnt lag, from my experience, its just not the most accurate and sometimes has missed inputs

      • yea thats what i mean lag so we missed or the timing isnt good

  • Thanks OP, bought two! Hopefully the kids will enjoy it!

  • In Amazon, the game is $46 and $106, what is the difference?

    • +19

      $60.

  • Does this work with Nintendo Switch Lite as well?

    • i dont see why not.
i saw the IINE brand of this drum video about how to setup, and they are using lite but it is sitting on some kind of mini dock (not original of course), and the cable from the drum going to the get inserted into that dock. not sure if you can connect direct to that usb c on switch ? (use C to female A converter)

      edit: here the video
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7w6ZwHBMyJM

  • Does this work on PC?

    • saw review on youtube the poster is saying using emulator on pc

  • Thanks OP, bought one. I've seen the bundles for around $270.
Are the Taiko no Tatsujin games worth getting if you want to play single player or is it mainly a multiplayer party game? Also, which game has the best selection of songs?

    • latest iteration of the switch game (rhythm festival) has a music pass subscription, huge amount of songs for $6 a month and more released monthly.

      • Thanks GUYANDSON. Not too keen on paying monthly for a game I will play every now and then but will see the base songs list

    • +2

Drum & fun, Rhythm festival are the two main ones.
Drum & fun seems to have more multiplayer modes currently
the 2 adventure ones are kiddy story based games
