MSI Radeon RX 6800 XT GAMING TRIO PLUS 16GB $800 + Delivery ($0 SYD C&C) @ CCPU Computers

220

Hey there folks. Just stumbled upon this sweet deal for a 6800XT. It's the cheapest one I've seen recently. Just thought I'd share for anyone in need of an upgrade. Check it out!

This is a PCIE Gen 4 card, boasting 4608 CUDA cores and 16GB GDDR6 VRAM. It has a boost speed up to 2250MHz, three DisplayPort v1.4 ports and an HDMI 2.1. A 750W PSU is recommended and it's about 324mm long.

Is it worth it when I can get 6750xt under $500?

    • Where did you get it for that price?

      • +1

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175742262962 with ebay plus JAU17

        thank me later

        • Does that code drop it to below $500? $599 on eBay

        • Only if it was a 3 fan. I got the 6700 XT for $460 but three fans, I feel like the 2 fan would be loud?

          • +2

@itsmoe: Have this exact 6750XT, don't find it loud. I do have it in a beQuiet! case but I sit right next to it and doesn't bother me.

            • @sobriety22: Nice, that's good if that is the case.

              • +1

@itsmoe: I haven't played anything super intensive with it. Mainly just the latest COD and it was working a bit harder in Cyberpunk 2077. Overall I like the card. $/frames is reasonable and I'm not going for mind-blowing graphic performance.

Just beware that the Asus 6750XT Dual is renowned for massive amounts of coil whine… i know a few people who onsold them because they couldnt stand how loud the whine was.

      • Ah. Makes sense why it's cheap then. Still contemplating whether to pull the trigger.

      • I had Sapphire 6700 and PowerColor Fighter 6800, both had ridiculously loud coil whine, too

        I got rid of both

  • Does it come with free starfield by any chance?

it's a huge card, check dimensions thoroughly before buying

  • would someone be able to please help me see if this build can work from all the current deals:

    GPU - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/791443
    MOBO - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/791431
CPU - ryzen 5 (waiting on deals)

    SSD - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/791191
Case - waiting on deal but need to be med/big as most parts are pretty big? haha.
PSU - waiting on deal but 750W?

Motherboard is AM5 socket - you need Ryzen 7 CPU's. I'm not too sure if the 240mm AIO will be sufficient for some of the Ryzen 7 CPU's. Maybe it'll be fine? Also that's an MATX board - which is small.

You might be waiting a while for specific deals. Not sure if aesthetics is important to you, but sometimes it's worth paying a little extra to get something that looks nice (Case, RGB, etc), as oppose to slapping on the cheapest parts you can find. But if you are just going to stick it under a desk then it's probably not important.

      • thank you so much!

I am not too fussed about RGB/aesthetics TOO much. i was hoping to actually buy a decent case without it being on sale.
if you had to make some modifications, what would you suggest? it looks like maybe a downgrade in mobo?

I actually finished my build a few days ago

          6800XT - GPU is good, it's what I'm running.
Motherboard - I'd get an ATX board, not MATX. AM5 Socket
CPU - Get one of the Ryzen 7 variants. 7600x or 7700x is good sweet spot.
Cooler - the 240mm AIO might be fine, if you can stretch a 360mm would be good
Case - Your personal preference but make sure it can fit whatever AIO you get
SSD - Lots of SSD deals on Ozb
PSU - Minimum 750W. I went with 1000W to allow for future expandability. Get a reliable brand, don't cheap out on PSU.
RAM - Your personal preference. The one you linked is fine

@cyrax83: Please note there are “Ryzen 5” 5600(x) and “Ryzen 5” 7600(x), which use the am4 and am5 sockets respectively

So telling him to ‘not get a Ryzen 5’ is not correct.

The naming is confusing so it’s an easy mistake to make.

The Ryzen 5 7600(x) or Ryzen 7 7700(x) would both be good options with that combo. If the price difference is very small get the X, if it’s not, get the non X.

            • @feathers9: Ahh yep you are right. Just make sure to get a 7xxx CPU and they'll be fine

      • The Arctic AIO is highly rated and reviews near the top so no worries there.

        • Nice one then it should be good

        • +1

          Thanks!

Does it mean I'm good to buy the above article cooler deal with a ryzen 5 76000x model?

Gosh, the pc building game has stepped up so much in the past 10 years haha..

    Anyone seriously considering this card:

With the 6700 XT now regularly under $500, the 6800 XT is a $700 card based on cost per frame
No Starfield if you buy from CCPU
7800 and 7700 are being announced at the end of this month

    • +3

Yeah waiting for 6800 XT to be under $700.
Otherwise the 6750XT at $500 is better deal?

  • I haven't been keeping tabs on prices but I'm glad I went ahead and bought a 6800XT 2nd hand for $730 back in December rather than holding on this long with an ordinary GPU and still not seeing worthwhile prices to upgrade lol.

Please note my delivery price is $20 to TAS

rememeber goys hodl!, the prices will free fall when the super fast 4000 series and 7000 series release!! hodl!!!!

$500 used 6800 10 months ago ftw (cant even beat that to this day)

    • I bought a used miner 6800XT for $600. Working beautifully, condition was excellent.

      • how long ago was that and how old was it (for warranty)

        • Comes with 1 year warranty. Sale happened about a month ago

    • did something happen 10 months ago that made someone sell their 6800 for $500

      • mining went poop and new nvidia 4000 series that had rasterization numbers about ~10% faster for 300% more where about to release, and yet everybody called me crazy when I pointed it out and tried to convince me that prices would freefall (hint: they didnt) (hint: 100% faster with fake frames and bullshit means nothing)
