    $20/hour? Wut?

  • +8

The prices these guys charge makes a $5 myki trip look like good value in comparison…

    • +2

That reminds me I need to check if they've refunded our myki balances yet…

Woke salad website. No mention of insurance comprehensive or TP.
    Expy AF.

    DOA.

Just returned from NYC. Most people hate this thing.

    • +2

Are you sure about that? I found it all from the FAQ no problem.

        Needs proper rego in place.
how is a vehicle/car operator/pedestrian supposed to claim against this ?

Most incidences report hit and run.

        • +1

If you're unable to get what the number of the scooter was you can report the date/time/location as Neuron track it all.

          • -1

            @Clear: To whom exactly?

            • @r0nmac:

how is a vehicle/car operator/pedestrian supposed to claim against this ?

If we're still talking about this, then to Neuron of course.

              • -1

@Clear: For normal accident, you call a cop or 000, not Toyota or go get.
                Rego binds to legal legislation.

How is a blind grandma gonna call neuron?

                • +2

@r0nmac: For a normal accident if someone is injured you'd call 000. It's not necessary for a ding and no injury.

    • +5

Lost all credibility when you mentioned the word, "woke".

Usually said by uneducated, ignorant and misinformed sheep.

    • +3

Who would you call to get details of a runaway bicycle that hit you?

      • Runaway bicycle is hopefully not motor powered.
I have the same gripe against powered bicycles.

        • +1

How is that a relevant distinction? Every chance a bicycle can go faster than the 25km/h these are capped to (and therefore do more damage).

          • +6

@xyron: Having no motor doesn't fit his narrative so it doesn't apply apparently.

            • -2

@Clear: Whatever floats your boat mate. Your money - your choice.

          • +1

@xyron: Do you not know science? Its only kinetic energy created by motors that hurt! When i use my legs to get easily over 40kmh the energy is softer when i hit grandma. Electrons are woke sheep of the devil.

      • Or the car with missing or stolen rego plates?

        • -1

How many have you come across on your entire life?

          • +5

@r0nmac: lol, funnily enough, the exact same number of times I've been mowed down by someone on a scooter who failed to stop and share contact details.

  • +5

I can rent a goget car for $7.60/hr +44c/km or $87/day incl 120km. Four people in comfort and dry.

This is $18.60/hr or $148.80 for an eight hour day or $446.40 for a full 24hr day.

    Choose wisely.

    • +4

You'd get a ride pass instead. Noting that I'm not in Ballarat so my prices may be different.

Unfortunately hiring a car isn't possible for everyone, like an 18 year old, those without a license or those wanting to go on bike tracks. A car and scooter don't always target the same demographic 😉

    • +3

These aren't for people who want to drive around all day. It's for people who can't be bothered walking up the street to grab a coffee, or feel a bit tired and want to ride one from their office to where they've parked.

      • +2

I was merely pointing out the absurdness of the price compared to an alternative.

I don't care what people want to use it for. It's VERY expensive for a poxy scooter.

        • It's a different market, no comparison

    • How much for a coach for 40-50 people?

  • +4

You'll ride for just 31 cents per minute – all day

'all day' would be $446.40 😲

    • +1

Worth it for the look on your face

    • +7

      It also says every day

Assuming an average life expectancy of 83 years and current average age of about 39 years, thats a cost of over $7,000,000 😲

      • +4

I gotta get in on this scam.

      • +2

thats a cost of over $7,000,000

Would it be cheaper to just buy your own at some point?

  • +2

Glad this shit is outlawed in nsw

    • Electric scooters: exist, are fun and useful to some, also marked down

r0nmac: I don't like it, hear me everyone now!!! Here, and here!!!

You must be a f. legend of a person to deal with.

  • +1

Might pick up a girl on this who knows 😲

    • +1

      Will get you arrested again…

  • Interesting blog post on Scooter Huts website outlining states eScooter laws currently:
    https://scooterhut.com.au/blogs/blogs/australian-laws-for-el…

  • Great deal, I don't expect it to last though, these scooters are still in trial so neuron are probably testing bargain basement prices. I don't reckon they'd be turning a profit at the old prices let alone at these discounts

  • +1

    Damn scoots
    https://youtu.be/SZBlYHjR46g

You guys should buy a bicycle and stop lazy.

  • +2

I hope the people of Ballarat turf these shitty things into the nearest river, theyre a fricking cancer, like the hire bikes, only more of a pisstake

    • +2

I've seen quite a few out in the middle of nowhere, so that's a start…

  • +2

perhaps we could crowdfund the people of Ballarat to dispose of these in amusing ways….id throw in a few bob to wipe these Neuron pricks out

aussie arm of some chinese mob who have fields of these things unused and poisoning their own country, now looking to expand and poison other countries….same shit as the bikes - waste on wheels

China has fields full of unsold electric cars, ebikes and scooters, leaching chems into ground water because they get govt subsidies to develop shit, so they get grants, build the shit, never sell most of it (because that costs money), roll the product out into fields, shut down the company and start another, and more grants….well, you get the circular picture here…. we should either learn to manufacture shit again here, or just ban half the shit coming out of China…
