Wait a few weeks and these will be $10, like all other Click products

    • Then I will wait…

Thanks. I've created a calendar reminder for September 2nd. Cheers

Grabbed a click outdoor antenna a few weeks ago for $5. Was worth it just for the 10m cable lol

  • You're $35.00 away from getting free delivery with OnePass!
Spend $80 or more on the stocked items.

  • Don't almost all houses now have RCD at the switchboard anyway?

    • +6

May not be using it from a household power point. May want something closer to the point of potential risk/failure.

    • +3

Yes, but it trips the ENTIRE house and every time I have to get into the roof to turn on a computer. I think I have an issue in my shed with some water getting in, so I am trying to diagnose it and use something like this so it trips the shed, not the entire house.

      • +3

        Computerised roof eh

        • +3

It’s up the top so it makes sense it’s the brains of the house.

        • Hide the computer for my security system feed in the roof and then just run HDMI down the wall. Reduces heat in the office and it’s today.

          • +3

@geekcohen: Surely in the BIOS you can set the PC to turn on with power? I don't think I've seen one that can't.

            • +1

@kongkurr: I might have a look, actually didn’t think about that.

            • +2

@kongkurr: Yeah perfect! Just enabled it! That will be handy.

Still want to find the source of my tripping. It’s either water in my shed or it’s rats chewed the wire.

When RCDs trip they will normally trip the closest to the transformer. Depending on RCD sensitivity.

      • Problem is, if you plug a portable rcd into an outlet already protected by a rcd, it's basically random which one will trip when there's a fault.

    • +1

These are more so intended to prevent you from overloading the GPO. The breaker at the switchboard is there to protect the wiring in the circuit up until the GPO. The current rating of that breaker will almost always be higher than the current rating of the GPO, so just because you are overloading an individual outlet, doesn't mean you will trip the RCD at the switchboard.

Some construction sites, offices etc require that RCD power blocks be used.

      • +1

Yes, Victorian (and potentially other) construction sites do no allow standard powerboards, only those with inbuilt RCDs.

      • Power blocks aka PRCD are not mandatory on construction sites. Although if used they must be Class H as per AS3012. This one is most likely not.

  • After my last Click powerboard died after 2 uses. Think I'll be passing on them.

    • +1

These are pretty simple in design. It's just two GPOs, RCD, case, wiring, and plug. They are easily repairable, provided you know what you are doing, unlike the cheap powerboards.

      • This was the 8 plug workshop board, just took it back for a refund and bought something else. So not exactly the cheap one.

    Will this charge my tamagochi?

    • +1

Yes, it will also prevent your tamogochi charger from tripping your power circuit.

  • +2

I used this when installing insulation under some floorboards with a staple gun. Haven’t died yet. 10/10

  • I use mine weekly, no issues.

  • I saw these a few days ago, not a bad deal except a 5m cable isn't good for much on a job site.

    • +1

I don’t think the click products are really designed for a job site. It’s like Ozito isn’t really for tradie usage.

      • I'm pretty sure these do not meet class H certification as per AS3012. Unlike this https://www.tradetools.com/hpm-10amp-electresafe-4-outlet-rc…

        • Seen the Sparky's tag them so I assume they're up to standard. That said, a person can buy tags from anywhere these days so they could be dodgy.

However I was thinking more maintenance instead of commercial, for charging 18v. Wouldn't trust them for anything heavy duty.

As in test and tag? Yeah, they would pass a T&T no problem, I have my T&T ticket and it would pass no problem. Tested via a machine and then physical inspection. Most things pass, I've had a few powerboards fail a T&T in a 12 month period.

  • Thanks. Been wanting to grab one for a while. Have mostly cordless tools but this is handy for the odd corded job.

Far out.. missus had a 'dick' brand heater when we moved in together, i've just realised, it must have been 'click'..

    • +1

A dick heater? That/s thoughtful of her

  • Bought this and it smoked up after 10 uses
