    Opt out Woolies ereceipt now.

    • +6

can just screenshot the ereceipt maybe?

      • +6

yes, nothing wrong with ereceipt - can screenshot or share, which exports to pdf

    • If you share the e-receipt in the Rewards app it is shared as a PDF.

      • Of course I know. In the previous similar deals, promoters declined some of these kind claims. Doing so put yourself into the leniency of them.

        • Seems like the sort of thing to take up with fair trading, since the PDF is a legitimate receipt which even includes the POS terminal output.

  • I get both paper ( store) and ereceipt on everyday rewards app.

No need to change a preference.

    • +4

      Why?

      • +3

obv it's still free, but at $5, it's more free. basic maths mate.

        • +2

Especially if you have discounted woolies cards or you value those extra 2 everyday rewards points

    • +7

      Lol? Dumb

    • Great logic lmao

      • +3

He deleted it. What did he say? Sounds like it needs to on record for internet museum

        • +20

Along the lines of it is currently on special at both Woolworth and Coles. Best wait till it returns to full price to make the most of the deal.

          A real intellectual.

          • +6

@iChopstick: More points at full price was the argument I expect

          • @iChopstick: Maybe he works for a rival sauce maker?

          • @iChopstick: He spent all his efforts in thinking whether he 'couldv and nothing on whether he 'should'

  • Is the sauce nice?

    • +6

I like their pastes but the simmer sauces always seem kinda meh to me. Like, too vinegary or something. Different to simply adding water or coconut milk to the paste.

  • +1

korma is very nice with tender lamb added

    • +1

      Agree

    • Yes but lamb is only for nobility these days.

  • +12

No way would i give these guys my bank account details

    • +6

Yep better play it safe. Don't take your aluminium cap off as well because they can listen to your thoughts etc.

    • +15

Ripe for a data breach after collecting all of the claims for cash back.

      • +2

Yeah, I'll be trying to hack into Sharwoods database tomorrow just so I can pay my mortgage this month.

    • Probably too costly via TCN.

    • +7

What is it exactly that you think you're able to do with a BSB and account number?

      • +11

They could send me money! 👺😠

      • sell your name and bank details on the dark web. I think it's 2cents an account. Then others can assume your identity with all other personal information already exposed and happily drain your funds. But then again probably won't happen in the next few months…wait for things to quieten down.

      • Direct debit?

        • With the BSB and account number??

          • +1

@D3m3ntia: Provide saving account (usually inwards transfer only from outside, direct debit not allowed), not transaction account.

            • @Neoika: I provide a transaction account because I do not have any money in it. It's all in the savings.

  • Why dont they just give it away for free?

    • +3

Will be a tax thing probably

    • then they would be bombarded and go bankrupt by ozbargainers , (plus they potentially can write that off in tax)

    • +5

So that they can collect your bank details 🤣

    • +2

give it away, it goes to plenty of people who are not their target market.
sell it, with claim back, then you minimise the freeloaders, and mostly those who are actually interested in the sauce will partake.

      • Yeah you get the people willing to work for $2.50 an hour.

That is what the product costs on special and how much time you will waste on getting it.

    • How do you do one per person if it's free?

    • this gets old stock off store shelves.
the retailer isn't bothered by marking stock down to $0
a giveaway not involving the retailer would take new stock from warehouses.

    • +9

A lot of people will buy with the intention to claim but will never follow through out of laziness. If they gave it away free, they lose this angle.

    • +3

Maybe they're going for the Ben and Jerry angle where they don't pay out by claiming they couldn't read your receipt.

    Thank you kormagain

  • +2

It’s times like this I appreciate I am not as poor as the average OzB punter.

    • +12

Do you read the forums? Average OzBargainer is on 200k+ with a high yield investment bimmer!

      • A high yielding investment bmw? I gots ta gets me one of dem!

  • seems like a bit of hassle and id forget to check they actually paid..pass on this for me

  • +11

I like the sauce for quick kid meals but…T&C's Point 15….basically give your info to anyone globally.

Collection and use of personal information
    14. The personal information you enter into this website will be collected and used for the
purposes of conducting the Cash Back offer.
    15. The Promoter may disclose personal information to its related companies and to third parties
(including promotional partners, contractors and agents) both within Australia and overseas
(including England and Wales, where the Promoter’s ultimate holding company is registered)
for the purposes of the conduct of the Cash Back offer.

    • Meh, it's not difficult to counter that T&C imo

      • Just give them an alias (They aren't sending a cheque so it doesn't really matter)
      • Use an alternative phone number (eg. One of the Boost Mobile numbers from the various profit offerings).
      • As for bank account details, I can't speak for all banks but Commbank has a 'GoalSaver' account which money can be sent to but not withdrawn from (Externally)… I'm sure other banks offer something similar.

I'm sure most people on here make it habit to do the above with most (if not all) free related offerings that require a form to be filled.
As the good saying goes, if it's free then you're the product. In my case, my alias will be the product.

      • Regarding providing an alias, read clause 9 of the conditions of offer.

  • +1

It's not bad sauce. If you get the korma or the butter chicken, I highly recommend adding some cream once you've removed it from the heat. It makes it much better.

    • +2

try sour cream instead, gives it a zing

  • Stick with pataks, not a fan of this stuff

    • I prefer Sharwoods pastes to Pataks pastes, more oomph. But I'm not much of a simmer sauce user.

    • Pooptaks paste is much better.
      Shartwoods has too much vinegar.

  • Can anyone clarify if it's one receipt per person or is there a limit on number of bottles? As in 1 of each flavour or just 1 bottle?

  • +2

    https://www.coles.com.au/product/sharwood%27s-butter-chicken…

Coles $2.50. really it's kinda pointless for all the effort

maybe for some wait till non special week at $5!!!

    • +6

      Logic check:
Pay $2.50 on sale and get a full refund of $2.50. Result = Free sauce, no profit.
Wait for full price $5.00 and get a full refund of $5.00. Result = Free sauce, no profit.

      WUT?

      • $5 in both supermarkets till 5 Sep.

It makes a bit easier to reach weekly spend target offer for bonus points.

      • Pay $5. Get two refunds of $5. Result = $5 profit, no sauce.

      • Flybuys points and 2% HSBC cashback = big profit!

      • Logic check: member since 2015

still not heard of giftcards for all your shops at colesworth

or use the promo to convert your Flybuys dollars or Everyday reward credits to actual cash

or even for some really diehard ozb to buy then return for actual profits

    • Prices are changing every Wednesday.

  • +5

Maybe it’s not worth giving your personal details to a third party, given that the product is only $3.

  • +1

I like their Korma, tried it recently.
Agree your info is worth more than 2.50.
Sounds like you're the product they're selling.

  • +3

I heard Josh Rogan was looking into this to see if it is legit and having it on his show.

  • Thanks OP.

  • Can you pay with a coles gift card and profit?

    • Searched through the T&C’s and they don’t appear to stipulate valid payment methods for cashback. I assume using a gift card and just sending the receipt would works? I’m planning to do the same with a Wish giftcard

    • You could just return the sauce to woolies for a refund and profit.

  • Is this for just 1 product? Or can buy multiple products under same receipt?

    • Limit of 99 bottles per person per 12 hour period.

  • Looking to make a fish curry to use up some frozen fish fillets, which flavour would be best for this?

    • +2

      I would suggest korma.

  • +1

$5 paid, claimed on the 1st day.
