    • Got the same email today as well.

    • +3

I resubmitted my receipt when they requested it a week or two ago and I got the exact same email too. My receipt did show the date I purchased.. there seems to be no option to resubmit again.
There was only one item on the whole receipt so it is clear and easy to read… very suss

    Here's my BS email

    Dear Sucker,

Thankyou for your participation in the promotion.

    Claim ID XXXXXXXX

Unfortunately, your claim is invalid as the latest submitted receipt was unreadable.

For full promotional terms & conditions, please click here.

    Kind Regards
The team at Ben & Jerry's

lol they ask for a resubmission and they can't read the pic??? funnily enough the other 2 I claimed were approved with no need for resubmission and the pics of the receipts were taken in exactly the same way.

    • Dear fatty,

Thankyou for your participation in the promotion.

      Claim ID

Unfortunately, your claim is invalid as the latest submitted receipt did not show or have a valid date of purchase within the promotion period.

      Kind Regards
The team at Ben & Jerry's

      • Apparently mine didn't all the info that was on the recipet

        What next?
I didn't have a ice cream stain on the recipet

  • And here is the image they provided as an example in their email when they asked me to resubmit https://www.benandjerrypromo.com.au/images/receipt_example.p…
Mine had all of this info each time I submitted it

  • I resubmitted based on the link provided in this thread but I am not getting any emails other than the original one?

My details came up when I put in my claim ID. Who do we email??

  • @richmond12 I’m not sure. I tried the contact us on the promo website but kept getting error messages. The email saying our entries were invalid is a donotreply email address

  • +4

Came back to see if people also got the BS email with

“Unfortunately, your claim is invalid as the latest submitted receipt did not show or have the purchase of a participating product. ”

My receipt clearly shows 2 B&J ice creams on the same receipt. Whoever is processing these claims cannot read, or they have stop the give away as it’s become such a farce

I’m done town B&Js. Never buying their ice cream again

    • +1

I think I read somewhere earlier in the comments you must only have 1 purchase per receipt for some reason. That might be why…

      • i purchased 2 at the same time (before i read the T&Cs) but i only claimed once :(

  • +3

That's pretty shit by Ben n jerry, would expect a lot more from them.

  • +2

My claim and my husband's claim both finally got finalised on Monday like a lot of other OzBargainers. Bought $14.74 Woolies egift cards ($14 after 5%) as soon as I activated them as it was easier to copy paste the card number there and then. Plus it's easier to keep track of Woolies remaining value than mucking around with this app. I'm pretty happy with the deal still considering cash back with shopback and cashrewards can take much much longer (e.g I booked a flight in Dec, only travelled in early June, still have to wait 90 days after travel completion).

    • I did the same thing :)

  • +4

Well and truly over their nonsense. I have now lodged complaints with Fair Trading (QLD) and ACCC. Usually I would say that is excessive over $14 but in this instance I am fed up.

  • +1

Woah, finally got some success today and got my digital Visa Email just now.
Required lots of perseverance and emails…

Yay, got my measly $5+$9 spent back I guess. Probably wasn't worth it in the long run and they lost a customer out of me for good.
    -_-

    • Well done. I’ve sent them a complaint through Facebook

  • -5

Got mine finally. Not the best run promo but I think some people just need to learn to be a bit patient. Those having issues submitting the required info aside others hammering them with emails only going to make things worse.

  • 1010 comments wow this has to be close to record

    • +2

Yup. Sadly for the wrong reason.

  • +1

    Still waiting…

    • +1

May be quicker to take a walk to the moon…

  • +3

Sorry to hear that everyone has been waiting. We've received all of our claims in the household.

    • Same here. Received mine and now wondering if we can just use the visa card anywhere online. They give u pin and expiry date.

      • I think all cards issued expires 12/2019, best to bust the fund fast. It also takes steps to retrieve card info.

        1. Prepay to council rates, utility bill.

        2. $14.74 value Wish eGC before 5% off.

        • How do you buy custom amount of Wish eGC?

          • @asdf1: Is that a genuine question? Haven't you bought an online e-wish gift card?

            • @Sweetnsour: I've only ever bought set denominations of the gift cards. Never knew you could do custom!

          • +2

@asdf1: Hi asdf1, one option is via Cashrewards. Also available via Shopback. You can choose a custom amount.

  • +1

Submitted 15th May. After multiple emails and resubmitting my receipt about 3 times, finally got it yesterday.

  • Finally got the card. Shockingly run promo. So many emails to get it sorted

  • just got my reply
"Unfortunately the second receipt you uploaded was invalid as it did not show the date of purchase.

As the claim is now invalid we cannot accept any further re-submissions."

I checked my upload, and they are right, my date was cut off

so Its my fault no resubmissions does annoy me

      • +1

        good sugggestion,

bummer, I tried that and got this

"You have already provided the extra details"

        oh well :(

        • i had another rant to them and their reply was

"Unfortunately as both receipts that were submitted were invalid we are unable to accept any further documentation. "

          fed up and pissed off

trying to decide ACCC or some other method or both,

          out of princiapl

  • I got rejected in one claim and after complaining they have now paid out. Keep being persistent and I reckon they will pay out. They must be heartily sick of all this, serves them right for an appalling promotion.

  • +1

Seems like emailing is working for some. Without having to go through 11 pages of discussion, which email should I resubmit my receipt to?

    • I need to know this too as they have not responded since my message via Facebook on Friday. They said mine did not have a valid date but since it actually did I want to follow it up

      • which fb company do you msg?
I need to annoy them this way too, since their latest excuse is my reciepts didnt show dates, when they did

        • +1

Ben & Jerry's. I doubt you can find Edge's Facebook page (and even if you did, almost guaranteed they won't respond)

          • @highwind: thanks, sent them a msg, not expecting much, but im quite angry with being stuffed around,

definitely a product I will have a far negative image after this

        • +1

I tried through this Ben and jerry Facebook page (direct messaging through messenger) with no success https://m.facebook.com/BenandJerryAustralia/
I have also tried https://www.benandjerrypromo.com.au/contact but the form will not submit

          • @zoinks: thanks for those links,
            what a mess,
its like they are trying to lose customers

          • +1

@zoinks: wowthey just replied via FB saying they will follow it up with the marketing company

no doubt they will just fwd me the same reply,

            shocked they replied!

  • +1

"Unfortunately, your claim is invalid as the latest submitted receipt did not show or have the purchase of a participating product."

Err, no. Too much effort to claim back $14. Have already resubmitted my receipt once.

  • +1

Did anyone get asked to "confirm" their mobile number? After providing mine they were super quick to conclude my claim was invalid as the T&Cs (the one they didn't stick to) say I must provide real details. Er, ever considered that I may have changed numbers? Also if they had my number why ask for it again except to find a way to invalidate my claim… Seriously so close to lodging a complaint myself

    • Yes, I did. But I guess I got lucky because after the first "please resubmit your receipt", I couldn't get the SMS code, so I contacted their support to tell them I had changed carriers (the number I originally supplied was actually mine, but an old SIM that expired). After a few emails, they asked to verify my number (which they never actually verified via SMS or anything) and I did manage to get my gift card in the end after a lot more prodding.

This is what I wrote when asked to verify my number:

      Hi Liam,

I don't understand why this is becoming such a huge issue. I provided the receipt multiple times, I provided my mobile number, and informed you as I changed carriers, that it had changed to ____ ___ ___. If you had intended to make your company and Ben & Jerry's entirely unpalatable for consumers, then your company has done an amazing job.

Rest assured that I will now be contacting ACCC regarding this matter due to the number of broken promises and obvious delay-tactic "unexpected delays" in meeting your end of the promotion.

This was a reply to Customer Support <[email protected]>, but I also forwarded to [email protected] and also complained to B&J's Facebook page, as well as lodge an ACCC complaint (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/7436476/redir). However, I never got an "invalid claim", so I don't know if it will help you much.

  • +3

This promotion is really a joke.

Like many others: submitted claim in May and asked to re-submit in early June, then wait , wait and wait… I then took the advice from here and sent Egde an email with the receipt picture and claim number two weeks ago. A week later came the bombshell: "Unfortunately, your claim is invalid as the latest submitted receipt did not show or have the purchase of a participating product."

Only then I learnt from their web site that they have different series of ice-cream, the 'Pints' and the "Moor-phoria". They were the same size and at same reduced price in Woolies. I happened to buy the Moor-phoria and the promotion is for the Pints?!! This is ridiculous and deceptive. Really wanted to complain but couldn't be bother. Just moved on… so I thought…

One day later, got a reply from the from Edge thanking me for my email and saying that it has been passed onto the validations team. Then the next day, they sent me the Virtual Visa! Wow, nice surprise. Obviously I used it on WISH gift card immediately and then spent all on groceries. Now, I can happily move on.

    • Thanks for this info, I purchased a moophoria product too. I’ll keep complaining until they explain this directly themselves as they were trying to tell me the issue is the date, when it is more likely to be the product I purchased

      • +1

Mine also ineligible for same reason. Complained on Facebook page and also emailed complaint to Edge. Received the voucher today.

  • +2

I redid the claim from the link above and have received no emails or confirmation since the initial email. What a scam!

  • +1

    Received message below;

Thank you for awaiting our response.

We have checked with our Promotions Team and as they verified, there is a list of multiple claims under the same IP address which are all separate entries completed by that IP address which makes the claims ineligible.

As a goodwill gesture, we would like to offer a reimbursement voucher worth $30 for the time you have taken in contacting us.

Would you like to accept the offer?

    We appreciate your communication.

    Peace, Love and Ice Cream

    • +1

What a croc of …. three people here that all use the same desktop. It did not say in the terms and conditions that we each need different IP addresses.

    • +2

      what next?

We have contacted CSI Miami, and we have evidence that the poo from your toilet contains 2 different dna strands of ben and jerrys,

      claim rejected

    • ohh man wouldn't be surprised if they say:

We have checked with our Promotions Team and as they verified, there is a list of multiple claims which were made by people who all drink Coffee which makes the claims ineligible.

    • Wow… pathetic

    • +2

They have underestimated the no of claims. What can you expect after this?. Dodge as much valid claim as possible by all sort of excuses to save their bottom ass.

Pathetic and an epic fail team of bj promoters. Why don't they limit the claimants at the start to avoid make up tactics to dodge a valid claims, that I don't understand by them.

We will not touch this brand again. bj ice cream is outrage overpriced anyway

but depends on what $30 voucher. I will take a woolies gift card $30 over $14 visa all day!

      • +1

Well that right thing to do when you've underestimated your claims is either say due to unforeseen circumstances your claims will take a bit longer or just take longer and get through it all

Not make up some BS excuse and Sabotage your own brand

    • Finally received $30 Coles voucher. I’ll move on but never look at the bj.

      • Good on you! But wouldn't you want them to do the right thing of making an apology publicly to the consumers for their stuff up on the promotional campaign?

  • +3

Just another run around after run around. This time (after the 4th attempt I emailed them with the receipt) they comeback telling me that the product that I bought wasn't on the list of eligible product. Eventhough I bought the pint that was on the promotion.

Well done! Not a surprise that they go all the way to reject claims

    • +2

I empathise with you. Easier to deal with the monkeys in the zoo then the morons in Unilever promotion team! Sad indeed to see them needing to stoop so low with such unscrupulous tactic to save a few dollars!!

  • Anyone gone down the accc route?

    Now im angry,

Have been contact with them re a claim.

    Today's email from them
your claim number no longer can be found in the system, bad luck

    • -1

ACCC and department of fair trading (qld). ACCC said that the complaint has been taken on board but they don’t investigate on behalf of an individual. Still good for them to have the info.
Still awaiting something back from fair trading. They did say fourteen business days from memory.

      • Do you or should you register with the accc?

        • I did, but dont know what difference it makes

    • No I haven’t yet. I’ve still got nowhere also, had given up but would like to complain if there is someone else to complain to.
Their excuse to me was that I bought one of their moophoria range and should have bought from their pint range - both ranges are 458ml tubs so I figured they were all valid pints.
Surely they would have your email history and they could refer to that… they are getting desperate for a way out now…

  • So I just tried to sign up to both Netflix and Stan and both are saying my Virtual Visa isn’t a valid card?

    • In the terms and conditions the Place you use it must be in Australia
      (Valid within Australia only)

So I think it gets complicated when you try to purchase stuff from international companies

I found in person at woolworths worked fine but online didnt work most places

I think I also could add it to my paypal

  • I finally got mine. Kept contacting them via facebook and they resent it via new email which I provided. In the process I sent them screenshots of communication between myself and promo team via messenger/facebook. They updated email for me and sent to new email. Got it today.

same as loulou, I didn't get anything via my hotmail, even though they sent it. Had previous communication via them through hotmail and only the gift card doesn't turn up in my hotmail.

    • Same Finally got mine today after about 30 emails.
Just kept hammering until I got a result.
      Absolute turd of a promotion

  • +5

Finally got mine, after a few pestering of emails, i am relieved rather than happy

my friend also had the same situation, and kept on getting told the date was not showing, the first photo didnt, but the resubmission did as he included two pics,

after a million two and fros, they said that the date wasnt showing, they even acknowledged the second email with the pic with date showing,

and eventually they said , not valid because of no date, so he has become more persistent and quite rude,

so he gets an email today, saying out of gesture of good will they will send the visa ,

and for some reason the email trail between BJ and the marketing company has been included

and the phrase "can we just give him the visa just to get him out of our hair"
and "hes getting upset and abusive, just give if to him to shut him up"

was included !! haha, im sure they receieved lots more abuse

    • sounds like a battle….. a battle I'm about to have. Can I ask what email did you use to follow them up with?

      • -1

        [email protected]
        [email protected]

I started off sending it to one email but when the replies became cut and paste of the same thing,
I started sending the exact copy to both emails, twice

        maybe that helped

make sure you get "abusive" so you will get one "to shut him up"
        like my friend did

        • My family member is still waiting also. Sent to their hotmail supposedly, which is a load of you know what. They say they will resend it and never do, even to alternate email addresses.

    • +1

I kind of wanna see this email trail between B&J and the promotion team… I wonder how many such emails have been exchanged these past 2 months…

    • Beautiful work finally getting your card and they certainly earned an abuse session or two for the incompetence, lies and general patheticness.
I went through a similar situation.
      Disaster of a promotion.

      • +4

Incompetence aside, to cover up their stuff up, they employed unscrupulous tactics including stalling, changing the claim process midway, adding new information requirement, broken SMS verification, etc…to disqualify as many valid claim submissions as possible. This is pathetic and a violation to Unilever’s published Value, Principles, Code of Business Principles and Code Policies as a public listed organisation. These morons refused to do the right thing to re-gain the trust of consumer with sincere apology and admission of their stuff up to all affected consumer. I would be escalating this to Unilever Corporate Office to get an appropriate response.

  • +3

Family member finally got theirs today. More than two months after submitting their valid claim. Will never buy Ben and Jerry’s again.

  • absolutely useless promotion

    mini rant from me
so I received the visa card numbers, happy, didnt know its a once off number and they dont send it to you via email or confirmation

emailed virtual visa team, no reply for 3 days
    so called,
explained my siutation, got put on hold 3 times, for 25 mins and the final outcome was, yes we can help you, but you need to go to virtualvc.com.au/contact and submit a request (which is what I did before)

I asked if there is a reference number, and they provided me one, I said do I include this ref number into the email,
yes you can but there is no point because they staff cannot read the conversation we just had

"so after 25 mins on the phone, the outcome is , send a generic request again to support with a useless reference number thats not going to mean anything"

    what a crock

    • +1

You can retrieve the details here https://virtualvc.com.au/balancecheck

      • yes I tried that, unfortunately it says my details are not correct,

so I was trying to find out if its my end or theirs as well

        • +1

Sorry to hear that. Communication is not their strong point. I hope you get it sorted.

          • @loulou1: thanks! hope so,

i feel as the hard part is done

            so much work for $14!

  • +5

    took 63 emails

but I finally got mine today

  • Rejected my claims although it is clear that the details are on the receipts

    • I asked them to forward my complaint to management / complaints team

Seems it got sent to their validations team
