    • When did you get your points for the previous months? Mine and related weren't until the 5th or 7th so you will have probably have to wait until then.

    • Not yet

    • Does anyone even see the bonus pts reflected on the statement?

  • Does anyone know if the monthly cycle for account fee is based on calendar month or account opening date monthly anniversary?

  • I opened my account on 1st of month and the points for transactions usually arrive around 7th. Hoping the bonus turns up same time 🤞

  • +1

Received the standard points this morning, no bonus points unfortunately.

Signed up 12/9 and did 10 transactions each calendar months of September, October and November.

But haven’t received a 3 month statement yet

    • I'm in the same boat - third lot of standard points lobbed in, but no bonus yet.

      • Just sent them a message on chat, will report back

        • +4

“ After three calendar months from account open, if you have satisfied the criteria, the bonus Qantas Points will be credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account within 60 days from the end of the qualifying period.

Your account was opened on 12/09/2023. Therefore, the qualifying period will end on 12/12/2023.”

Sounds like I may not be getting points until as late as 12/2/2024

          • +4

@Brick50: Sneaky bastards… so really this is a 5 month process… not sure if it's worth it tbh

            • +3

@krazek: 2 more month to deposit $2000/month, bastards

              • +4

@Sidor: I was hoping to close the accounts ASAP so I don't have to keep the $2k deposit and withdrawals going

            • +1

@krazek: Well setting up the monthly transfer is only a few seconds of effort, though I won't be bothering with the 10x purchases any more now that I've completed the required 3 months. Hopefully they don't pull some shenanigans that requires chasing them up in 30-60 days time.

          • +1

@Brick50: Eh unfortunately that's just kinda par for the course with these points offers and credit cards isn't it, though some are better than others in terms of turnaround time frame. eg Amex pays out within a week, WBC/NAB and their subsidiaries pay out within the 1st statement, ANZ by the 2nd statement etc.

  • +3

Can confirm I haven't received my bonus either.

  • my missus missed 10 transactions in the 2nd month, we’re now ramping up to 20 transactions, hopefully they’ll still pay it out, worth a shot, anyone else in the same boat?

  • anyone got 10k points?

    • Apparently 2 more months to wait

  • +4

what a pain to wait for 60 more days. Last century system.

  • -1

Have not received the 10k yet after three months of 10 transactions

    • 2 more months to wait.

      • +1

Within 60 days don’t always mean another 60 days

Also to the negger: am i not allowed to say another person not received the bonus point, because a few others have mentioned it? I didnt realise it is an exclusive club.

        • +1

Wasn’t me that negged but best to reply to an exiting comment, save brand new comments.m for when the points are received.

There are 112 people subscribed to the thread who got notified about your message which is basically the same as everyone else’s comment

  • +6

Still waiting for points. Bankwest sucks.

  • My bonus posted overnight with the usual monthly amount (so one transaction of 10k+) - This is the 4th transfer as I signed up mid September.

    • Same case here, even though they somehow missed my points in the first month still ended up getting the 10k anyway so glad not to have to follow up with them. Also didn't bother with the 10x min transactions last month either.

  • +2

Got my 10k points finally, thanks OP
And already closed the account in the app

    • Got mine too! Easy to close via the app

  • Yay, finally done with the $2k hokey pokey.

  • Got my 10k. Thanks OP.

  • No points here. Signed up early sept. Time to make a complaint

    • I got mine but partner didn’t get hers, we both signed up same time, same transactions etc.

    • I signed up late September and got mine :)

  • Just got my 10,000. Thanks OP.

  • Got the points too. Noice 👌🏼

  • Got the points.

  • +2

Time to close the account. BS fees

  • Got points

  • Are Zip or Revolut payments eligible for the 10 transactions?

    • +2

Yes I got points with $1 zip payments

  • Those who already got 10k points, have they landed to Qantas FF account?
Opened on 3rd of September, still nothing.

    • +1

Yes my previous post was relating to the points appearing in my QFF account.

      • Chatted to BankWest, they advised the following:

You opened your account on 04/09/2023, 3 months takes you to 04/12/2024
60 days, then takes you to 04/02/24

        • FYI I opened my account 6/09/2023 - On your qantas statement do you have 4 months worth of points credited? You should have at least 30 each month (from the 3 Qantas Points per eligible purchase)

          • @Ynk: I got 42, 45 and 62 points credited in October, November and December, 3 months, not 4 months.

            • @Sidor: My partner has had 4 lots of points credit with no bonus points.

30 October, 33 November, 53 December and 33 a couple of days ago.

Messaged BW and they told me to wait the 60 days (about a month from now) tipping we won’t get them until I can complain after that date

            • @Sidor: Mine didn't come in until the 4th credit to my Qantas account, looks like you have met the requirements so good luck hopefully you don't have to follow up with them.

              • @Ynk: She’s got 4 credits already, hopefully will come on the 5th

        • Matter of luck I suppose, or maybe they didn't deem you eligible sorry. I only opened in Oct so did the 10x per month from Oct to Dec, I got the 10k points landed into my Qantas account on 5/Jan too.

  • I havent got mine either. My points credited in Nov,Dec and Jan are 33,33 and 32. Guess I need to wait for another month.

    • Still waiting here too.

      • +1

        With x4 credits

  • +1

Denied as transactions towards paying off Zip count as "BNPL" according to support. The T&C don't mention anything about BNPL transactions being excluded though. Nothing even similar. Is that fair?

    https://www.bankwest.com.au/content/dam/bankwest/documents/l…

    • I got my points by paying off zip, my partner hasn’t got hers and assuming that’s why she has been denied. They tell us to wait the 60 days but that would be the reason no doubt

Doesn’t take long at all to contact AFCA, I wonder if it’s worthwhile

    • That is not fair. I would definitely argue with them.

      • +2

Spoke to them and they confirmed that partner wasn't eligible due to making Zip Pay transactions which they deemed ineligible transactions, Advised them that myself and many others have and still received the points.

I argued that if they were in fact ineligible, I wouldn't have received the 30+ points per month (3 points per eligible transaction). They have raised a formal complaint for us so will see what happens.

A few months back Origin Energy offered 35k everyday reward points, refused to give them to me despite me being eligible. Once I raised a complaint to AFCA within 2 days they called to give me the points, hopefully it doesn't go that far as it isn't really worth the hassle for 10k qantas points

    • +2

See my follow up post below, I made a complaint and received $100 instead of the points. They also argued it was 10 trans per statement period not calendar month, but I told them to show me where that is in the PDS.

Then they offered me the 10k points

  • +1

Didn't receive my points so I tried in the chat.

"I believe I have found the issue here. As stated below in the terms and conditions -
The offer was only available to customers who:
    - did not hold a qantas transaction account at the time
    - had not held a qantas transaction account in the past 24 months
    - had not held any other transaction account at the time
    - had not held any other transaction account within the last 30 days of the qantas transaction account opening

You currently hold other transaction accounts
    "

I have a Offset Transaction account linked to my home loan. Not Qantas.

Anyone else with an existing transaction account receive the bonus points?

    • +1

In the same boat, although the T&C at the time, under the things you need to know, do not mention these two criteria

      • had not held any other transaction account at the time
      • had not held any other transaction account within the last 30 days of the qantas transaction account opening

So I’m at the internal complaint stage

      • Same here. Poor by BW.

        • Denied. Scumbags.

  • I chatted to them and they said

    Criteria is,

    • A minimum of 10 eligible transactions in each of the first three calendar months from the date of account opening, using a Bankwest Debit MasterCard.

So that made my last month only has 7 transactions. Even I asked if they can do anything do help, they cannot. Totally a wast of time!! 🙁

    • +2

So they argued my zip pay wasn’t eligible, then I made a complaint and told them they were eligible, they agreed to this over the phone

then they informed me the eligible transactions were by statement period whereas I followed it by calendar month. I advised that it doesn’t mentioned this and the terms and conditions sound like calendar month.

After I advised I would follow with AFCA if required customer support deposited $100 into my account instead of the points, which is a preferable outcome for me.

Yes I could sell them for 1.1-1.4c each but not worth the risk for me

  • +3

Didn't receive the bonus 10,000 QANTAS points. Chatted online with Bankwest today and was advised my transactions were not eligible. In my case, all the transactions were with either Coles or Woolworths. I've lodged a complaint with AFCA. Will update here when I know the outcome.

    • +3

I called and was told the same, my transactions were only Coles and Woolworths as well and were at least 12 transactions a month settled in that month.

The support person looked and couldn't find a reason why I wasn't eligible but then said they would forward the job onto a case manager to tell me "why I wasn't eligible" which seems overly confident to me when its clear Bankwest are wrong.

Seems very scummy of Bankwest to be doing this.

    • What is wrong with Coles or Woolworths transactions?

      • For the 10,000 bonus points offer on the qantas transaction account, the eligibility criteria included making 10 transactions on the card each month, with the month begging on the open date, 04/09/2023. Regretfully, this wasn't the case for the second month and eligibility was not met I'm afraid.
I'm sorry I couldn't give you better news!

Weird, as I made 14 transactions on the 4th of October, 9 of them at Woolworths.

        • Are any of the transactions of low value eg a few cents each? I’ve read on previous posts that Bankwest don’t consider these as eligible transactions even though they should be as no minimum spent is stipulated on the terms and conditions.

          • @fedex11: I expect that the statement period would have been 4/9-5/10. So @Sidor probably needed to wait an extra day or 2 to make the transactions

            • +1

@Brick50: I made complain with Bankwest and they already replied that I did not meet the requirements. I checked communications and found that they opened the account on 3rd of September, so my understanding is that the first month should be 3/09-2/10, I made 10 transactions on 4/10. I will l
be lodging complain with AFCA, and see what will happen.

              • @Sidor: Same, lodged complain with Bankwest, based on the fact the account was opened on 3/09, and 10 transactions been made on 4th of October, which previously they were saying not meeting their eligibility. Complain resolved, complians rep confirmede getting 10k QFFP. Have not got them yet though.

          • +4

@fedex11: Mine are all low value transactions (50 cents to $2) so that could be why.

But their terms and conditions doesn't say that there is a minimum spend and its a supermarket so I'm going to fight them.

    • +6

I received a call from Bankwest acknowledging that they have received my AFCA complaint. This time they advised the reason I was not eligible was, while the transactions were completed in three different calendar months, they were not completed in three separate "month" periods from when the account was opened. I argued that the commonly accepted definition of a month is one of the 12 named periods that make up a year (eg January, February …) and the conditions don't explicitly state a different definition of a month. They are taking my feedback into consideration and will get back to me with their final response. I'll update here once I know the outcome.

      • Thats ridiculous and if so, probably where I've gone wrong as well as I was using real months like… every other bank in the country.

      • +2

UPDATE: Bankwest have agreed to credit me the 10,000 QANTAS points. I'd encourage anyone who met the requirements based on calendar months to lodge a complaint as it will most likely result in you receiving your points.

        • I'm in the same boat as you. They say a month is 30 days from the date of opening and so on.. can you tell me how lodge an AFCA compaint? This will be my first time..

        • Same here, they got back to me and credited me with the 10000 points (although they aren't showing in my account yet)

I'm still not happy though as I had to personally ask and push for it, I can only imagine all the people who won't bother.

        • Here is the wording from the email they sent me:
          "Outcome

No Bank error found. The terms and conditions states from the date of account opening, once the minimum of 10 transactions is completed per month and not calendar month, customer's will be eligible. However, considering our discussion, this was not explicitly clear and therefore, based on your concerns and to show our good faith, the Bank has credited the 10,000 Bonus points as per the promotion as full and final resolution to your complaint. This does not constitute liability on the part of the Bank."

        • I am going thru the process of complaining. They advised me the same thing about monthly not met but I did based on calendar month.

      • How long did you wait before contacting them? I signed up late Nov, have just completed my Jan transactions 10 days ago. Just chatted to them and they said the assessment team is yet looking into my account to see if I'm eligible so not sure how long I should wait before contacting them again

        • same here. Opened account in Nov - made 10 transactions each on 24/11, 04/12, 22/01.

  • I completed my transactions with Zip and was declined the bonus points when I enquired on chat. I then raised a complaint with Bankwest and they allocated the points.

  • Just got my points today. At first they said I didn't qualify, but after a couple of emails it was sorted, didn't have to arm wrestle them like others here.

    • what was the email you contacted them on? I signed up late, my last month was in Jan, not sure when I should contact them

      • Sorry, I meant the message centre when you are logged in on their site. It is one of the menu options at the top centre of the page, choose message centre > bankmail to send them a message. No chat bot to block you talking to a human.

        • +1

          got it, thank you!

    • Did you sign up from Oct to Dec or Nov to Jan?
I signed up in Nov to Jan, and still dont have my 10k points.

      • +1

        Opened account 5/9.

  • I gave up. I closed my account. Sent them a complaint they said my transactions are not enough? But I have downloaded my statement before closing account. I made at least 10 tx every month. Don't know how they calculate. 🫤

    • Have you lodged an AFCA complaint or at least threatened them with one?

      • -2

I told them I followed OZB, people got their points after they made a complaint to AFCA. And I am the same situation as those people got declined at first place. I thought it should work but they still say I am not eligible. And alao my account already closed. So they decided close my case. WTF lol

        • +3

Ok. I lodged a complaint to AFCA just now. Screw them. 👻

          • +4

            @Micky14: Update:

They got back to me and offer $200 as I already closed my bankwest account.
            I'm happy now.

    • +3

I just fought with them on this as well. Gonna make a complaint

  • A slightly different set of data for those anticipating trouble: I noticed the statement for my first three months showed I had only earned 87 points on transactions, which meant 29 "eligible" transactions, despite having 32 on my statement. In online chat today it took 40minutes of silence from the agent before I got told that, after examining my transactions, she guessed it might have been some of the Paypal transactions. FFS. That was the best she could do. I politely (truly) expressed my dissatisfaction and worry about qualification for the 10,000 QF points, at which point she said "you have successfully qualified". Well blow me down! So I don't know how you can simultaneously have less than the required eligible transactions and yet fulfill the requirements… but I did. And it actually turns out that the points had arrived in my QF account yesterday!

  • +4

Also got denied the 10k and said I was acting fradulently even though small value ($1-5) coffees and afterpay txns. Customer rep also said that I wouldn't be awarded any points for these transactions even though they'd been sending the monthly points. No headspace to follow up with them, won't be banking with them again.

    • +2

      Lodge a complain

  • +4

Just spoke with them on the phone. They said there was a note saying I didn't meet the eligibility requirements, i did clock up 12/13/13 transactions in each statement period. They said they'd get back to me. In hindsight, not worth it, and I ended up paying a few monthly fees. Looking forward to closing this account, and I'd recommend against this deal in the future.
