      1. Apple doesn't need to because they have a unique product being iOS. They don't compete with other Android phones.
      2. Running promo discounts will devalue their image as a premium brand.
      3. People will buy them no matter what they charge because it's too inconvinient to leave their ecosystem (i.e. my Wife)

long time Samsung fanboy since s3 i owned nothing but Samsung, first iphone in 2019, still have it, i hated it for the first 3 months and wanted to sell it and go back to samsung, but i stuck it out and I wont go back to android again, it just works.. it just works. better video recording stabilization and camera, better app support, no lag at all even 4 years later, constant updates. has almost all the features that made android special, name a widely used feature that exists on android that does not on latest iphone. there is a reason you pay a premium for it, because its pore premium built, it lasts longer, it doesn't bog down after a few years or after an update, you can resell it for a premium if need be, and it just works.

No back button is a deal breaker for me. No USB-C until the iPhone 15 haha

          • @happyadventurer: back button? oh cmon give me a good one.. back button is on the touch screen itself. usb-c is coming in one week.

            • +2

              @Roe Jogan: It boils down to personal preferences for most people, but if you're a power user Android is the only choice;

Extensive personalisation options (couldn't possibly list them all). Faster navigating UI. Better photos. Under-display fingerprint sensor. More powerful file manager. Samsung DeX. Faster charging. Better integration with Google One (much cheaper cloud storage). LDAC (high-quality Bluetooth audio) support. 120Hz, AOD & optical zoom on base Galaxy models. Faster UFS 4.0 storage. More choice in accessories that also run Android (eg. watches). Free ad-free streaming (NewPipe, modded Spotify, PurpleTV). Can spoof geolocation via developer settings….

              • -8

@Techie4066: Faster navigating UI: is this a joke? apple never lags or stutters, hasn't been my experience with Samsung, apps are less optimised for android overall, for example i used to notice lag or freezes from time to time on Samsung, never the case with iphone
Better photos: the reason why i upgraded to iphone was the better camera
Under-display fingerprint sensor: its proven that face ID is the more secure biometrics
More powerful file manager: apple has that now, you can copy things from a portable SSD to and off the iphone. copy paste is supported.
Samsung DeX: nice feature, but who actually uses this? its more for bragging rights
Faster charging: faster correct but iphone is no slouch either..
Better integration with Google One: meh
LDAC (high-quality Bluetooth audio) support: best selling headphones and trend setters are apple earpods
120Hz, AOD: apple has high refresh rate too. real world difference is unnoticeable
optical zoom on base Galaxy models: fair, the new iphone 15 will have that too.
Faster UFS 4.0 storage: not really a major selling point, who's unloading 100gb files on the regular to and from their phones..
More choice in accessories that also run Android (eg. watches). apple watch is the best smart watch, all apple accessories are perfectly executed and work seamlessly, same cant be said with Samsung
Free ad-free streaming: ? ahhh idk what this means but you dont get ads if you buy the plan, unless you talkin about modded hacked apps
Can spoof geolocation via developer settings: apple has the best and most secure mobile OS

                • @Roe Jogan: @Roe Jogan go away please. 😊

                  • -1

@lordra: yeh what was i thinking stating facts on a Samsung deal, too many butthurt fanatic android fanboys here who are ready to go to war if someone states their personal experience with 2 eco systems.

            • @Roe Jogan: Swipe to go back is a very big deal actually, no more having to reach all the way to the top of the screen to click on back button. That's just too much work!

  • i have 15% off but it does not work :(. can someone share 10% off code :(

    • +1

Reply to the email requesting a 10% because you want to do a trade in. That will stack.

      • they will not reply till next week 😞

  • My cashrewards didn't track, how do I follow up?

  • +2

Which app are u using to trade headphones?

    • Samsung Trade Up in Google store

  • Can we cancel the trade-in and still use the $500 code? Say I pick the cheapest $5 trade in and forfeit $5.

How long does the $500 code take to come via email?

    • +1

The $500 was targeted. If you don't have it, it's too late. Use the other options.

  • where do i get the $100 from?

    • +1

Connect to chat. Ask them for the 10% voucher. They will give you a $100 instead. The 10% has to be requested via email.

      • I got a 10% voucher via chat, pretty easy, but was asked to provide current Samsung model and IMEI

  • $608.20 for S23+ 256GB with all the codes stacking plus using the headphones trade in option. Will grab some $10 ones from officeworks tomorrow and send them off hopefully no issues. Worst case they'll charge $30 "security fee" on top.

Edit = $55.29 cashrewards tracked also. Total $552.91, great deal thanks OP!

    • Good one!. Didnt realize I could do cashrewards or headphones.

    • +1

Curious how do we trade in headphone? Only shows phone, tablet and watch for me.

      • The samsung trade up app gives you the option for Other branded headphones

      • The headphones option was the last one i could select after phone and watch, etc if i remember correctly. I read in one of the earlier comments you could do headphones so gave it a shot.

  • What are the chances of cashreward's cashback being honoured?

    • +1

Who knows. But it's just a couple of clicks for the off chance that it might so why not.

  • Thank you so much OP. Purchased S23 Ultra .

  • +2

    Got the S23 256gb for $624.60.
    $300 trade in + $5 for an S6.
    $100 voucher via chat +
    $50 newsletter voucher +
    10% email in voucher.

Sadly couldn't get my hands on the targeted $500 voucher. Didn't need the phone tbh. Have an S21 which is great 😄. But was too good to resist.

Question for the community. The S6 had a trade in of $5. If I don't send that in, would they only charge me $5? (That's the current charge on my credit card). Guess I could retain that for the next round? 🤣

    • +1

Your S6’s IMEI will be flagged in their database. i ‘traded’ my S8+ end of 2021 and never sent it in lol. Tried to use the same trade-in ID from the S8+ last time. Says its been claimed.

      • +1

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Might as well send it in. It's working but slow as. Last legs despite a factory reset.

      • with your s8+ trade in which was never sent, was there any ramification that unfold? The charge on your card stick so you lose that trade in $?? Or you got off scot-free (eg: enjoyed the trade in $$) without any penalisation?

        • +1

I got reminder emails to send it. Thats about it. The phone was estimated to be worth $20, alongside the $60 (?) non-device return fee. I was prepared to pay $80 total but never got charged. Could be cause’ I eventually closed my credit card as well (not for that reason though).

  • Anyone has 10% off loyalty voucher? I emailed them but couldn't get one. I will share once I get it.

    • Go on Samsung chat - they will give it to you in 2 mins.

      • +1

Got $100 voucher. but 10% off loyalty comes by emailing them right.

        • +1

Yeah it's separate and they stack, I got a call from them and received the 10% off code after.

          • @1d0ntkn0w: is there any phone number to call them?

            • +2

@bargain4all: I received the call from 0282935712 though I'm not sure if it's just a generic contact number

              • +3

@1d0ntkn0w: Thanks. I called them and they said they will email me the voucher. Got it just now. Applied and paid 423.8 for S23 256gb.
                Thank you very much

    • I emailed for a code, and they replied requesting a time to call me to discuss… wtf.

  • What are you all signed up to, to receive the $500 targeted email?
I've got my name in the list asking for a code but I'm not sure many people are having much luck.

Was wondering so I can sign up for the next time this comes round.

    • Make sure you have opted in for their marketing offer. + when I asked them on the phone - they said its targeted to some randomly selected accounts. Everyone wont get it. So if you did not receive it dont wait for it. - just stack it with what OP has mentioned.

  • +1

I think they got rid of the $50 newsletter code. I was getting it to 628 for the 256 model S23 but now it goes to 678 when you check out

edit: let me rephrase can't be used with $100 code and 10% anymore

edit 2: It worked it the end, took many tries and clearing cache.

    • Yeah I got hit with this $50 disappeared on final checkout. Unfortunately I didn't notice until I had already paid. Still a great deal so not to pissed.

    • $50 newsletter code disappears at checkout. Tried clearing my cache. Logged in from cashrewards again and changed the order name and provided another email address - and it worked.

      No $500 code so paid $538 for S23 (128GB) - $48.93 (cashback already tracked) - $10 (cashreward signup) = Total $479 - not bad.

  • Just now got the S23+ with:

    (Applied in this order)
    $500 trade in
    $100 chat voucher
    10% phone call voucher
    $50 newsletter voucher

    And tracked with Cashrewards immediately.

    • How do you get the $100 chat voucher?
Do you ask for it specifically? Or just ask for a loyalty discount?

      • Yeah pretty much. "I'm a loyal customer blah blah blah, I'm looking for a loyalty discount for a new phone"

  • +5

Just bought a S23 for $24.60, a total discount of $1324.40. Cheers, OP!

Used the 10% off, $100 off, $500 trade in, and traded in my S22.

  • Can someone please help me with the trade in. I have downloaded an app on wife’s Samsung and wanted to get the trade in ID. At the end it’s asking for credit card details. Is that normal? Do they charge at anytime or if the item we send doesn’t live up to their mark? I am looking to trade in headphones. Thank you

    • +1

      Normal

    • +1

If you are trading in headphones for $1 your credit card will be charged $1 and then refunded once they receive your trade in.

      • Awesome. Thanks. And $31 if I don’t send. Am I correct?

        • +1

Plus a $60 late return fee

        • Why $31? Isn't it $60 for non return admin fee, not $30?

  • I'm wondering if it is worth sacking the $539 for a S23 now with potential cashback or just waiting for the next trade in offer to come around. Any thoughts?

    • Yeah do it

    • +2

I feel like a $500 trade in bonus for everyone is around the corner. Maybe they'll do it soon to align with the iPhone 15 release.
If you got the $500 trade in, it probably won't get any better but if you only have the $300 trade in bonus you'd jump on the deal if you really need a new phone now. Otherwise wait for to see if the $500 trade in bonus for all comes along. Hopefully with Christmas soon they will do it.

    • Just do it. good deal

  • Just ordered a S23 Ultra 512G @ $1153.2 after $1 trade up deal plus $100 +$50+10%. Will sell my S21 Ultra 256G to Mobile Monster which is between $480-$520 :)

    • +1

Try https://au.webuy.com/. I got a higher price for my pixel 6 at webuy.

    • +1

Hate to be that guy but your $50 newsletter voucher didn't apply (you needed to apply it last for it to register for some reason). Did the exact same as you and got it for $1103.2

    • Hello
What is the sequence in applying codes?
      Thank you

      • +1

        trade in -> 10% -> $100 -> $50

        • Thankyou so much

  • Ty. I bought a S23+ 256 gb for $851 less cashback $77. Looking forward to claim gst refund as well.

    • I'm travelling to Japan next February hoping Samsung runs this deal again in December……

  • First time i am trading in my current phone. How do we send the trade in phone to samsung ?

    • they send you return envelope

  • Anyone know how long delivery takes? Im moving in 2 weeks so not sure what address to use?

    • +1

It used to be over night, but phone I bought today has an estimation of Tuesday… maybe that's still overnight if due to the weekend courier doesn't get it until Monday and delivered Tuesday. Not sure

      • Thanks, I noticed when placing the order they quote 3-10 business days so hopefully that is correct in my case.

      • Hey mate, I wonder if you received any new notification that the phone will arrive today?

        • +1

It was sent last night and will arrive today

          • @bobvegas: Thanks mate, mine has an ETA tomorrow so hopefully I will get the notification tonight as well. :)

          • @bobvegas: Did you receive your phone today mate? What time did you get your shipping notification last night?

Going overseas this weekend and hoping to receive it before then.

            • +1

@victorheaven: Shipping notification was 6pm Monday, it arrived 10am Tuesday in Brisbane

              • @bobvegas: Thanks mate, I just received my notification as well. Do you know where to find the tracking number, it is not in the email or order tracking page.

                • +1

@victorheaven: It should show up on the order page, however when I clicked on it, it errored. I think it probably just had to update, but I never went back to check, and now that info is gone.

                  • @bobvegas: thanks, I still can't find it anywhere. will just wait for the phone to arrive tomorrow. :)

  • So what happens if you dont send your trade in phone? S7 Edge trade in value is only $5. Do I get charged that amount later plus a penalty fee?

    • Yup pentaly thllis year was $30, last year $60

  • Sadly! They didn't send me the code this time :( I have been looking for S23+ for a time

  • +2

Ended up getting the s23 Ultra 256.
Final price paid was $829 after all the discount codes. Trade in S7 edge which was only $5.
Cashreward tracked but who knows if it will get paid in 4mths time!

    • Dam good!

    • I did not get an email from Cashrewards that my purchase has been tracked

    • How did you get it for that price, can you post the breakdown please

  • Is anyone having trouble filling the stupid address in the trade up app?

I put in my post code but I can select it in the drop down menu.

    • I had that problem as well. I tried something I found in another thread which worked in the end. Change font size and zoom to max and try tap it a lot. You can also try making the app do 'picture-in-picture'. If it doesn't work, try changing font again like one step down and try again. Really annoying but it finally worked after a while.

    • Yep, same issue. I had to switch to another device.
I think it's something to do with text scaling. It's a bug for sure. Try another device.

  • Payment failed, and then tradein ID no longer usable… Now the nightmare begins chasing Asurion and Samsung for the security charges and making surw they don't charge me non-return fees for a trade in that is never used.

    • They won't charge the non-return fee but they will keep the trade-in value. Contacting Asurion is a nightmare

      • Can they keep the trade-in value when the order was never completed? Sigh

        • Their system is bullshit, it can't detect unsuccessful orders or they don't even care. They will keep your trade value until you can reach them and ask for a refund

          • @iforumos: Thanks for your advice mate. Why did you say that they won't charge the non return fee? I read in other thread that some are charged $60 late payment fee.

  • I manage to get the $100 from chat, but has anyone been able to get the 10% loyalty discount?
