  • $10 Starter Pack - choose your plan on activation:

So you cannot use the credit for one of the other plans with better value.

  • Anything cheaper than this to switch to Boost

    • This isn't a Boost deal - Here is the Boost Mobile page.

      • Need something to switch from and then to Boost again

        • $2 Lebara. Supports eSIM.

        • If Telstra Wholesale coverage is good enough for you, you could jump aboard the More Telecom bandwagon for (almost) three months before porting back to Boost. That's what I'm about to do. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/797661

If you just want a quick Boost > Something Else > Boost option, and you have sufficient Vodafone coverage, Woolworths have the Vodafone $10 / 7 days starter packs for $4 in the current catalogue. Coles / Woolworths often have Lebara starter packs on special for $4 as well.

Something that I've yet to try myself, but should work in theory, is Boost > $2 Telstra SIM > Boost. When porting to Telstra, look for the option to choose a plan later.

  • It's OOS online and all SA, been eyeing this one from kmart and it's never available. Dang, did I really miss the small window when it's back in stock?

    • I think so, it was in stock online and broadway when I checked

  • Does Amaysim allow you to bypass the ID verification using a credit card?

    • The credit card is the id verification that some providers use. They use the id details stored on the card as the id. I think they pull the details from the bank.

But I think Amaysim however requires a drivers licence, passport or Medicare card as id. They don't use the credit card id method. I used to be with Amaysim so that's what I recall it as.

      • I see, thank you for the details, hollykryten. I have a burner phone so I want to get a new phone number but don't want it linked to me.

        • +2

You can't get a mobile phone number in Australia without it being id linked to you no matter which provider you may choose. Even with those providers that don't do drivers licence, passport or Medicare verification but use credit card only. Well they've still got your id verified details pulled in through the bank through the credit card id verification method.

There's strict rules in Australia when it comes to mobile phone access. You can't get anonymous untraceable mobile phone access. There's no such thing as a real burner mobile phone number in Australia like there may be in some places overseas. They can trace which phone number belongs to you.

      • I was able to port from Optus to Amaysim in early September 2023 using a credit card, no further ID needed.

  • bought a $12 e-sim from amaysim when my boost plan expired and couldn't use a new boost sim right away. but transferring my number to amaysim was failed because my number was cancelled - according to amaysim. After tha, i realised that i have an optus sim card. activated and transfered my number right away… wasted $12 for amaysim…

    • Why not contact customer service and tell them what happened with the Optus sim. Ask for your money back, if they don't offer anything just say you will make a complaint with the TIO.

  • Thanks, just price beat at OW over the phone.
can't use ultimate gift card thou.

    • nice

  • Is there an expiry date for the sims to be activated?
