[Pre Order] Apple iPhone 15 512GB Black $1997 Delivered @ WiseMarket

50

I was looking to pre-order the iPhone 15 and stumbled upon this website that is selling the iPhone 15 512gb for $1997, which is lower than what Officeworks is advertising. Not sure if it is a pricing error.

The site does look Australian and there isn’t any information noting these iPhones are grey imports.

Could potentially head into Officeworks to get a price beat along with stacking it with gift cards for a decent deal.

Delivery after 20 October (according to graphics) or 1 November (according to text).

How are you guys price beating at OW when it's still on preorder?

    • I just tried PB over the phone and was told OW don't PB pre orders.

Apple fan boy buying a phone for 2k … hmmm

Samsung fan boy buying a phone for 2.5k … double hmmm

Only "apple sheeple and Sammy fanboyz

    • -1

Get used to these crazy prices. All china phones will get banned soon.

    • -7

Even if it was $5K-10K these fanboys still buy them. Otherwise, they can't put phone next to wallet and car fob key on the table when they meet anyone. Apple and Sams know their mob very well.

      • Otherwise, they can't put phone next to wallet and car fob key

Oh my. Can someone without Apple or Samsung phone tell me if this is an everyday worry of the non-Apple-nor-Samsung folk?

I once got a flagship Android phone and my problems didn't shrink to this. So I got rid of the phone and it was just in time because after 4 months its price went down 30% or more.

        • -2

You omitted deliberately 'table'. This one-liner will be textbook definition of those fanboys.

          • @[Deactivated]: Oh, not deliberately.

But I can clearly see the subject is touchy af.

I once put my motorola next to my wallet on a table in a high class venue.

Next thing, the security came and politely escorted me out. They told me they will let me in next time only if i have the latest flagship Apple or Samsung.

"this device is shipping after 1 November" I doubt OW will pricematah that

    • OW don't PB pre orders at all.

If you are going to spend 2k on a phone you might as well spend the extra 200 bucks for the pro max and get the best version.

I'm hearing the Pro options nerfed their camera system, replacing it with marketing BS, and that the base model is the best choice for most people if you care about photography. Either way, that's one expensive USB 2 port.

      • But the base model does not have a 120Hz or even a 90Hz display. It's hard to use a 60Hz screen after using higher refresh rated ones. It's the main reason I sold off my iPhone 13 mini even though I loved the size.

        • Agreed. Well, all I can say to that is there are plenty of other phones out there to consider…

If you like small phones, have a look at the Galaxy S3 or Zenfone 10

        • But the base model does not have a 120Hz or even a 90Hz display.

My cheap Motorola G82 has a 120Hz display, yet Apple can't offer it on a phone over 3 times the price?
Apple seem to really like gouging their customers.

    • Where are you shopping that the pro is only 200 more?

No model number on the page, unlikely they will price match& & $2k for non pro version, what a f…… joke

    2k money for forever 60hz in 2023…??

I remember friends spec-whoring about their CGA graphics DOS boxes back in the late '80s. Meanwhile I just enjoyed my black and white* Mac SE. It's good to see times haven't changed.

*TheTrinitron had one visible horizontal line, just like my iPhone 6 did when it gave up the ghost.

120Hz genuinely does make a difference for most people. It's not spec-whoring.

    Made in India

  • No model number listed, no stock since it's a pre-order why would Officeworks PM this ?

Do Fandroids dream of electric sheep?

It is amazing how Apple triggers the Android mob. Obviously they are pissed off they don’t have a functioning ecosystem across multiple devices. I’m still using my iPhoneXS because my main devices are my Apple watch 5 and iPAD pro (first gen). I will buy a new phone when the XS goes end of iOS. The same with the other devices. It is nice to have systems that just works across multiple devices and fo r multiple generations.

I don’t give a toss what phones other people buy, I wonder why the Fandroids get so upset with Apple?

    • How does Android not have a "functioning ecosystem across multiple devices"? (ps I have a S23/Tab S and a 14 pro/mini combos, both work quite well)

      • +1

I can't say if Android has a nicely working ecosystem - probably not as easy as Apple's, unless you have eg. Samsung's: phone, tablet, watch, earbuds and laptop (which doesn't run any "Samsung OS" anyway).

I tried switching to Android. It was alright, but not as alright as Apple's and I saw no value in leaving Apple ecosystem or try too hard to make peace with an Android phone. If I had to use Windows or Linux as my main computer it might be easier. But luckily I can have my well-made MBP with easy and very functional macOS.

        • so Pixel, Pixel tablet, Chromebook, google watch, pixel buds and google tv don't count? Mind you I don't own all of these but I would have thought it provides the same/same user experience?

          • @equinoxxx: Yeah, I also gave an example using Samsung devices. It may work well. I highly doubt it works better than Apple's (mostly my opinion here).

Still, the most important integration for me is computer-phone.

          • @equinoxxx: Do some Googling for the comparison. You can cobble together devices that work together but it isn’t the same as an ecosystem designed to work together.

            • @try2bhelpful: I assume what we are actually talking about here is Siri vs Google Assistant though as the hardware in the devices hardly constitutes an "ecosystem" so it must be the software that contributes to a better "ecosystem"? I would say Siri works well on my iPhone, better than GA overall. However, I do have hit-and-miss experiences on my iPad, not sure why.

              • @equinoxxx: Not talking about Siri, I’m talking about a phone that acts as the health management for the watch and the internet access for the iPAD. The fact that using the same app on different devices can move seamlessly across them including to the Mac.

Frankly I very rarely use Siri because I think calling out the name of a device in a public area makes you look like a dork. An assistant is not an ecosystem.

              • @equinoxxx: Nah, we're talking hardware and software. Apple devices have dedicated chips to improve security and connectivity (H2, T2 chips - now probs gone with, wait for it, dedicated M processors).

And then, Siri is not great, GA is probably better, to add to your confusion.

Reached out to JB Hi-Fi online chat for a potential Price Match iPhone 15 Pro with WiseMarket ($50 cheaper), just to try my luck. They flagged out that the reason why they wouldn't PM with WiseMarket is because they're potentially selling Grey market stock. I asked how did they know this and they shared that WiseMArket is not in the list of Apple authorised resellers. I'm assuming OfficeWorks will also not do the PB on the same basis.
