    Thanks OP
    Very generous of SB/Boost

  • Shall I buy now or wait for $6 profit?

    • +5

      Buy now.
I've been buying this since Nov last year and haven't seen $6 deal yet

    • +1

      Buy every month. I do.

      • -1

The deals are for new customers only. So recharges are undiscounted. Can I ask what's the point of buying every month?

  • +2

Highest profit of all I've seen

    • +8

@solacens Highest profit was $5.25 with Cashrewards in March

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/13530209/redir

      • Seems I missed that. Shame on myself (Handing out badge)

    • +1

      Highest has been $5.25

      • +2

The highest ever was actually $6 but the mods deleted the deal I posted.

        • @Reveen Why was it unobtainable?
          Was it Cashrewards or ShopBack?

          • +6

            @trixieb: ShopBack.

A mod incorrectly believed the deal was unobtainable (I received the $6 cashback).

            • +1

              @Reveen: That's great you got the $6.
              Can't believe we missed out

        • -2

Was that the instant Cheddar deal? Or was that $8?

Edit: Maybe it was $8 cashback on a $2 SIM = $6 profit.

    • Best of all times was ZipPay with $17 profit.

      • When was that?

      • But that had a limit of $1000 profit, but yes good times ;)

        • +1

          Profit is profit.

  • +1

    thanks OP!

  • +2

    Oh my. Here comes Tesla!

  • +1

    Thanks BG

  • Is this for new Boost Mobile customers only?

    • +1

You are considered new when you get a new number

      • Even if I use an email address which has previously been registered before?

        • +2

Yes, can use same email, name and address

          • @trixieb: Ok thanks!

            • @ilovefullprice: Use an annual SIM for voice, this one for data (number is irrelevant).

              • @wisdomtooth: But this cashback deal doesn’t depend on whether voice or data use, or does it?

                • @ilovefullprice: What he's saying is use these SIMs for lots of cheap data, not so much the calls (which you can obviously also do on this, but many people still believe they "need" to keep a permanent number). i.e. The amount of data on 1 yearly SIM is not going to equal the data on multiple of these SIMs. (You're thinking too small, thinking people want to order KFC on their phone for a year or similar. Instead think: "This is my source of Internet now.")

  • -3

wow this just set the new high

  • NOODLES

  • Is there any limit per SB account?

    • +2

The only limit is until you get the Sorry message from Boost :)

      • +1

I cant get around the sorry message now. :(
I've tried changing name, manually entering address, change email address, nothing.

        Any ideas?

        • +1

Change IP address, browser, payment method

        • After how many orders did you get the Sorry message?

          • +1

@sween64: Usually it's like all random and a luck kind of thing I guess :)

          • @sween64: It's not due to ordering too many. It's their dumb system that randomly chucks a wobbly and no-one there knows how to fix. It could happen on the first SIM you buy.

            • @[Deactivated]: Hmmm I’ve never had it happen but usually I buy one per deal and have bought maybe only a dozen. Today though I’m ordering more…

              • @sween64: It seems once you "win" the "possible fraud" lottery they can't/won't reset it. Reps told someone they're looking into it, but reps say unsubstantiated nonsense all the time to get people off the line.

                • @[Deactivated]: They told me it was a known problem and being investigated, but who knows whether there's any truth to that. I ain't optimistic.

I'm unable to purchase and also unable to activate online, though online support can activate SIMs for me. Not sure how that works.

                  • @UrMumsOnlyFan: So how are you buying them?

                    • @[Deactivated]: Needed to activate previously bought SIMs. Haven't been able to buy for a few weeks.

                      • @UrMumsOnlyFan: That's the next thing… I wonder if it resets after a certain time. We'll never know though, because no-one is going to wait say 3 months or whatever it might take, before buying another.

                  • @UrMumsOnlyFan: Oh and do you normally activate using a phone or computer? (Have you tried using the opposite one?)

I'm thinking if the reps can activate, maybe it's using a different software/program to us, that hasn't flagged us. So maybe computer activation uses a different program to phone activation too.

                    • @[Deactivated]: I've tried different computers, different browsers, different ISPs, and phone. Nothing works for purchasing or activation.

Don't know what is different with their system but they don't seem to have any difficulty.

                      • @UrMumsOnlyFan: Ok. They must just override it then.

                        • @[Deactivated]: Same.
I’ve tried everything different and still get the error message but I’m able to purchase a few roughly every 2 weeks.

I’m leaning towards that it’s the delivery address that they’re putting a cooling off period on.

I can see everyone has tried different everything except the delivery address.
Has anyone tried entirely different addresses, not just playing around with the same address ?

                          • @kdmeir: I can't even activate, which suggests an account problem. I doubt entering a different address would have any effect, but gave it a try just then (with a modification of my address).

                            Still borked.

  • I’m currently on my last few mbs on my annual plan. Didn’t make it until 1/12/23.

Just confirming if there’s an esim for this?
Or if there’s a time frame for port out and port in on boost?

    • +1

      Boost doesnt have esim

  • hey guys! I got one of these in a previous deal and it's about to run out, am I able to purchase another of these and transfer my number to the new sim no problem? or do I have to port out of boost first? thanks!

    • +1

      Port out. Check FAQs.

      • +9

Poor BG, all that work & nobody reads the FAQ.

        • +1

Why read the FAQ… It's not like it would answer the same questions asked over again, and it's faster to type the question so someone else can answer it for the 147th time in the last 3 months. ;-D

Seriously though most FAQs are too wordy and cover pointless and obvious crap. No wonder few people take the time to read them.

          e.g.

"Q: Are you able to purchase multiple plans using different names / ID (or can I purchase 4 x plans for the family using my own details)? A: From Boost Mobile rep via dm: Received clarification from the team and this is a tricky one since for compliance the terms is showing the customer is only allowed 1 sim per transaction but he can buy multiple SIMs and then activate them all under his name and he will then be able to manage all the numbers when he logs into the App with his Boost ID."

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. All that's needed is:

"Q: Can I purchase more than one SIM in my name? A: Yes, BUT to receive cashback purchase only 1x SIM per order. (You can however place multiple orders.)"

  • +10

Inb4 ShopBack decline cashback in 90 days time (like everything else). Stick to CashRewards.

    • +3

Well unlike Cashrewards, this didn't track immediately. Not a good start lol

      • +1

Same here, hasn’t tracked yet :(

        • It did for me. I was actually surprised the link opened straight through SB's app into Boost's website. It all worked seamlessly.

      • I don't know if it's only just been added, but it says at the top tracking takes 2 days. It's still not good enough. Who has time to be chasing tracking/cashbacks. It's their entire business model. So if CR can do it instantly then SB should find out why they can't do it that fast and solve it.

    • +1

cashrewards rarely fails at boost tracking or approval of cashback.
However shopback did that a few times for me :(

  • Stack with the 50GB $35 SIM for $12

    What do you mean, @BargainsGrabber?

    • +1

Boost is currently selling the $35 SIMs for $12, and ShopBack/Boost is offering $17 cashback

      • I would have thought that the post title implied both ($5 Profit).

(Somehow, 'stack with 50GB $35 SIM for $12' looks strange, especially as it links to a Cashrewards deal :P)

        • I can’t put the word $12 in title as that would make part of my title considered a dupe, hence I linked it in the description instead :P

  • Heads up it says need to be a new boost customer to qualify. Don't think this was a requirement with cash rewards.

    • +3

I thought you become “new” customer if you get a new number OR you port out your original boost number to cheap sim and port back in? Am I wrong? :(

    • @911r Should have been the same as Cashrewards. Confusing wording

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14106890/redir

    • +3

Yes it was. But it's effectively meaningless because "New Customer" = "New Account/Phone number." And no-one can have the same phone number on 2x different SIMs anyway. So yeah - meaningless.

  • Any cheap sims to port out for a couple of days?

  • +2

Can you buy a very cheap 1 year plan as your main number, and then buy these nonstop boost cashback deals for data?

      • I like the #31# trick you noted for hiding caller ID on specific numbers when dialling. That will come in handy on the occasion for me :-)

        • ;-)

    • That's what I do. WW's annual for the 10% grocery discount + monthly Boost for data.

      • How much is the Woolies plan?

        • And is it ever discounted, and if so what's the cheapest it's been.

    • What ve+ cheap 1 year plan?

  • give up won't let me to buy

  • -3

I think there are some points that should bring your attention:

    1. It's Shopback instead of Cashrewards
    2. Cashback is qualified only for New Boost customers

It means you most likely need a new email and phone number to be considered a new customer.

    • +4

      It's Shopback instead of Cashrewards

Some above said it hasn't tracked (yet). I'm not buying until people start saying it does/has.

Cashback is qualified only for New Boost customers

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14365728/redir

Probably (almost certainly) not the case, otherwise people couldn't buy SIMs for their wife/kids but pay using the same bank details.

Also the description wouldn't state: "Multiple SIM purchases need to be made as separate Transactions" if you couldn't… buy multiple SIMs. It would state something like, "One cashback per person."

  • +2

Also waiting for it to track. Cash rewards used to be instant…purchased through the SB app.

  • gc on paypal?

  • +2

    Thanks @BargainsGrabber

  • not trakced yet after 1 hour

    • Purchased 6hrs ago from the SB app, still hasn't tracked. Height of disappointment. Sometimes the CR cashback has tracked email used to come even before Boost order confirmation email used to come and I thought that was insane!

      • Edit: Just tracked an hour ago!

        • !? Oh well, good. It says at the top it takes 2 days.

          • @[Deactivated]: I guess 2 days is the maximum timeframe before you begin to panic. I begin to panic when it doesn't track within 5mins lol

  • Anyone tracked yet?

    • Took a few hours but yes, my purchase was tracked.
