Excludes purchases at Savvy Surveys, Survey Wall, ShopBack Surveys

bugger. they learned their lesson since last time.

    • +3

Yep, so that's why they pulled the promo early last time 😂

    • -7

You also should be fairer morally too. Don't expect too much free money. You probably would expect to spend $10 at least in that 3 transactions (to earn $10 CB)

  • -6

I assume SB excluded all the users that got bonus from the last offer ?? as they probably morally should ?? giving those that didnt meet that last bonus a fairer chance ?

Anyway sadly too bad now since Amazon Small prime day is gone (so are their 0% categories back too)

    • +1

It says “Available to selected users only”, perhaps they would have excluded those who got bonus from doing surveys?

      • +3

I completed the last one and this time round it isn’t showing
So those who have completed prior won’t have this challenge again

        • +1

          Same here

  • +17

Ridiculous they ended last promo early so unfair on people who had made 1 or 2 transactions

    • +4

Yup, not falling for any more Shopback fake promotions

    • Yes! I’m the one!

      • I'm another!
Safe to say, I'll only be using shopback if they have really special deals. Otherwise for everyday use I'll use CR or TCB after this crap they pulled.

  • +3

Hope no one gets their transaction rejected like I did clicking through the ShopBack app…🙄

Upon investigation, your transaction was not tracked accurately which could be due to the following reasons:

    • You've clicked on another browser extension after clicking from ShopBack

    • Other web pages or browsers (including search sites, social media, store sites, promotional or discount sites) were opened after clicking from ShopBack

    • Clicking through to another page from a banner, pop-up or advertisement from the store's page.

    • Using Antivirus, Cleanup or Adblocker applications may also disrupt Cashback tracking as tracking cookies are required to accurately track your transactions.

    • +3

wtf, I got the same email today

    • +2

Such a generic reply, just because they don't want to honor the cashback!

  • +2

“Eligible” transactions. I’ve just had a transaction rejected for no reason as it was a very simple order no discounts or issues. So they can reject cashback and then subsequently reject this deal. Looks like Shopback are back to their old ways.

  • +4

Challenge not available to me. I had made one legit purchase last time before it was pulled early. Now I'm not eligible to try again. Gee thanks.

    • +2

      Same here…

    • +2

      Me too!

    • +2

@gotyourback is investigating - I'm in the same boat and couldn't activate this promo. Hopefully they are approving the other bonuses for the people who completed part of the promo

  • looks like there are 4000 redemptions now

    • I've completed the challenge and it shows this count:

      3,250 participants.

      • Update:

        3,920 participants.

Are gift cards eligible? Can I just buy 3 * $10 Amazon gift cards?

    • Did you bother to read the OP in this deal? The answer is there.

      • Yeah my bad. I just read the savvy exclusions and missed the gift card.

  • -3

If I bought three gift cards separately, would that count?

    • Excludes purchases at Savvy Surveys, Survey Wall, ShopBack Surveys, in-store transactions, gift card and cinema ticket purchases.

      • Thanks. I didn't read that properly

  • Can you shop 3 times at the same store count?

    • last deal mine are like those. look into amazon, then purchase , surf again then purchase. challenge completed

  • When I click the link it doesn’t show the offer so I assume I’m not targeted

HOWEVER, I did receive the first challenge and completed it with surveys which were not prohibited. I easily make over 3 purchases a month but as soon as I seen surveys were included I realised it would be completed within days. So did a few myself.

I have no issues with not be included in this challenge this time, assuming SB, approve the original as technically I followed the conditions.

I think these challenges are better to be opted into rather than finish early! I was also part of an eBay challenge which required spending $30? for $50, or something, I completed it within time but it seems all the bonuses were claimed before my purchase was processed. Thus opt in, and not limited redemptions. If people opt in but don’t use the offer then exclude them on the next round so those who will benefit don’t miss out and obviously as SB earns commission they also want ppl to use it properly.

  • +1

I'm not eligible. I joined the recent challenge and made one purchase before it was pulled (not the survey stuff). Good one, Shopback!

  • -1

Shopback, This is not the correct way to handle your mistake, its not fair on the people that were deliberately making transactions through shop back which was the point of the offer.
You have the right to change terms, simply updating these on the existing offer with suitable apologies for your mistake would have been much fairer. People that tried to use surveys could then complete normal transactions and any one with normal transactions wouldn’t lose them. Given it was running over the Amazon sale you will have annoyed much of your customer base.

    • +1

They can't simply change terms of an offer midway, well they can - but anyone who startedd the offer before the terms changed are held to the conditions of the offer at time of when they started the challenge.

  • i don't get it, I joined the recent challenge and made one purchase before it was pulled and now not eligible. Can this be done?

  • Didn't get in the last one and not targeted this one either. So y'all might be huffing and puffing over simply not being targeted

  • +3

I have this offer, but might give it a miss. It's a good deal normally, but my confidence in Shopback has nosedived a lot across the past few deals.
Not sure why they're continuing this path of repeatedly launching promotions with problematic and unfair T&C's (not to mention poor tracking) that cost them both financially and reputationally. I feel sorry for GYB having to bear the brunt of this, especially right after a vacation.
Maybe pause, review and improve the system before trying again…

  • Targeted offer.

  • Update on the previous pulled deal - I just got an "online - bonus cashback" tracked at $10 10mins ago. This may be shopback honouring the cashback regardless of completion or not. I know I didn't make 3 purchases but I was on my way before noticing it ended early.

Sadly I'm not targeted for this deal :(

    Edit: Gotyourback update

    • +1

Thanks for helping in clarifying, just to be fair for ShopBack.

  • What's some cheap stuff to buy just in order to complete the challenge?

    • Boost Mobile $35 for $12

      • +1

He asked for cheap not free. ;)

  • +2

Usually a fan of SB. But a recent run of rejections for no valid reason have turned me off.

    • +1

Have to use it selectively now.

  • Amazon paid by giftcard is eligible for cashback?

  • Can’t purchase for same store?
I purchased in CW first time tracked,
Second or third time didn’t tracked

    • My Chemist Warehouse order (first order) still hasn't tracked either yet. Been two days.
Are you having issues with the tracking overall, or it's not counting towards the promotion?

      • I made a single transaction at Chemist Warehouse (3 items in one order) and it is tracking as 3 separate transactions, combined it was over $10 but no single item was over $10 so it is not showing as a completed transaction for the promo.

        • That sounds pretty strange. My experiences with past promos is the whole transaction counts, coz I often just buy an assortment of little things. I'd say put in a ticket or message GYB.

  • Bit crappy that have completed purchases on Amazon and only one tracked so far. Meanwhile while waiting for them to track all rewards are now claimed. Would have just used TCB for a higher % instead…

    • Yeah. My mum tried for this. Her experience:
      1) chemist warehouse: didn't track. No Westpac bonus (obviously). Missing cashback lodged.
      2) AliExpress: tracked, no Westpac bonus tracking.
      3) Big W: still waiting for tracking.

Now promotion is fully redeemed. Basically dud of a promo because of tracking issues and delays… Luckily all things she would've bought anyway, but definitely disappointing.

      • Rubbin it in too, as the transactions continue to track and the app pops up with the "your making great progress on your challenge!" :/
