[Switch] Super Mario Bros. Wonder $62.10 + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ JB Hi-Fi

CLICKOCT23

Original Coupon Deal

Matching the previous low at Harvey Norman but I'm sure most people are more likely to have 15ish % discounted gift cards to use at JB which knocks it down even further.

This is part of Click Frenzy deals for 2023

thx for the reminder - i got this last week but havent even opened it

    • +5

buy it this week too, a bargain is a bargain.

      • buy now think later? I bought it 6 months ago aparantly and it just showed up on the door last week, no idea if it was a good deal or not

        • I had some games that I thought I hadn’t bought and I only noticed they were in my game stash after I saw the latest deals on them on Ozb.

  • +4

Good price. Or you can register a new account and get $10 perks voucher.

    • Do you know if you can use perks and then pay with gift card?

      • Worked for me in the past but it was a birthday code I used then the gift card

      • Yes , you can.
But I assume you can't stack both codes - i.e. coupon and perks (at least not on negotiated deal )

      • I recently bought my PS5 from JB: price match + perks discount + gift cards (TCN).

  • +1

Any idea if you can still use a gift voucher AND this code? Assume so, but wanted to check..

    • Can't use both. Gift voucher overrides this promo code

      • ah, boooo

        • I ended up using this promo code for the game and the voucher to get this for $4

  • Thought nintendo was excluded in the promo

  • +4

    really good game!!

  • +10

Runs perfectly on steam deck !
*playing my backup of my legally bought copy of course.

    • +5

Runs perfectly on my Asus gaming laptop using an Xbox controller
*playing my backup of my legally bought copy of course

      • +22

Hmm i think we all might be using backup of the same legally bought copy.

    • +10

I don't care about going morale/pirate police or anything; but as someone who has nearly 100%'ed it on Switch half the fun in this is all the online social interactions, and playing with other people gesturing and helping eachother through levels and showing each other secrets etc.

Much like playing something like Journey offline, I feel like a good chunk of this experience will be lost on emulation.

      • Hey,why am I getting arrested?

      • +2

I would watch youtube if I want people to spoil secrets for me

      • Do you need Switch paid online for that?

        • +1

          yes

          • +1

@jonnys1n: Ah that is unfortunate, I don't use the system enough to justify having it.

            • +1

@andigaming: Yeah, can't justify getting it for the price when there aren't too many big multiplayer experiences on the Switch (to my knowledge)

  • +2

Boooo doesn't stack with perks $10 coupon

  • Anyone have success cancelling a jb account thats used perks, and then re-signing up again? Asking for a friend

    • +1

Yeah, I just used a different spam email to sign up for perks. Was able to do it 3 different times with my same phone number, then failed on the 4th, saying that the number has been used too many times. YMMV though.

  • +1

Good deal. Though I’ll wait for Black Friday to see if it will go lower.

  • +1

    Game is great fun!!

  • -2

    Will be $50 by Xmas

    • +1

This great game will be in memory well before xmas

    • +9

Given how little Nintendo first party games typically drop in price, I wouldn't be so certain.

    • +1

I reckon $58 at best before xmas, this is a good deal for a Nintendo first party that hasn't even been out a week.

    • +1

      more likely $70

    • Looked at Mario Oddesy on Deku Deals, all time low is $49.95 physical and $51.95 digital.
I would say at $62.10 the $12.10 price premium over an all time low is worth it.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • Can't seem to check out if using gift card to pay? Anyone else having this?

    • Used a couple of gift cards and worked OK for me

  • +1

Meanwhile it's $79.95 on the Nintendo Store, good joke Nintendo 👍

    • Thats digital though…

      • -1

Yeah, which is what makes it worse. Does anyone actually buy digital? It's an absolute scam. Oh, but they'll give you Nintendo coins to use as credit lol.

        • +2

Yes - 99% of my games are digital. You don't have to swap out cartridges and keeps everything ultra portable.

          • -1

@lasterato: Wait, so this deal doesn't anger you? Especially when you can trade a physical game and get some money back? I guess if money isn't a concern 🤷‍♂️

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: I understand your point and I prefer physical for the same reason, but we are in a 1st world country where convenience is worth the $ for majority.

              • @Oauiii: Thank you, it seems I've triggered a few digital fanboys with my comments.

            • @[Deactivated]: No anger here from this deal :)

        • +3

How is digital a scam? You have the choice. Buy physical or buy digital. Each have their pro’s and cons. Choice is not a scam. Digital sales have overtaken physical on PlayStation and Xbox. Not everyone has your mindset.

        • I bought this digitally, got Nintendo credit at 20% off - could have saved more by buying one of the 2 game vouchers but wasn't sure what else I wanted. If I can get them at basically the same price I'd always prefer digital, normally only buy physical games when there is a big day 1 discount.

          • @McFodder: Absolutely, If digital and physical were more closely priced, I would always buy digital and forget about the trade value considering it's much more convenient. Digital is only worth purchasing once it goes on sale IMO. Anyway, it seems I've started a religious debate. Sorry!

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Have to agree with you. Physical is good but not convenient. Since using Game Pass and PS Plus its just so flawless to load up a game without putting in a catridge.
I mean if reselling is your thing go for it, but most people dont buy games to sell.
Same deal with if I want to watch one of my DVD's , I check if its available on Netflix etc before going for the CD.
Life is about convenience, sometimes its worth paying for. If I move house I pay somebody else to clean. It might be a few $$$ but life is about simple luxuries. And in this day and age, time is money!
I do think it's crazy that digital is more expensive though, I would definitely buy digital more if it was a similiar price. But I notice all the 20 year olds I work with buy digital though…maybe it's generational.

        • +1

Apart from convenient and resale value… It's more about marketing purpose.

No shops will want to waste the floor space to sell their games if eShop undercut them. The bright red Nintendo signs will simply disappear everywhere. People will less likely to buy their console and games if they disappear from the shelves.

        • Nintendo game vouchers are $135 for two 1st/2nd party games.

Buy voucher with credits from 20% discounted eShop gift cards, and it works out to be $108, or $54 per game.

… Meanwhile, I got this game from EB Games for effectively $50.15 a couple of days ago ($69 to price match JB, then used $10 birthday voucher, then used 15% off UGC).

        • +1

A lot of us probably stocked up on Estore credit when they were 20% off at Coles the other month; I know I got a few hundred bucks worth :P

Combine that with the NSO vouchers and it brought the digital price way down to ~$54 or thereabouts after all was said and done. Good deal for me.

  • +4

I tried the game, it's fun, but I am time poor. However, when you get that wonder power up thing, it makes the game so trippy, lol I've never done drugs, but I guess this might be what it's like lol

  • man, even on a special, these Switch games ain't cheap! …coughYUZUcough

    • +1

      Gesundheit?

  • +1

I need to stop buying switch games I'll never play
Bought botw the year in came out and I still haven't finished it, of course I have totk waiting too
    someone help me

    • +1

      You’re doomed.

Just called it on TOTK for me for the time being. Knocked over all the shrines then did the boss and I’m at about 180 hours. Still got about half the overworld quests to go but decided it was time to move onto other games.

BotW is large but TOTK is something else entirely. I got 100% in BotW but can’t bare to do that again for the new one.

  • +1

Is this good for a 6, 7 year old boy ?

    • +2

I played the first couple levels a couple of days ago and it was really fun and full of amazing graphics and music, and I found it easy to pick up (controls do not seem complicated either), so I think it would be an excellent choice for a kid that age 👍

    • +3

Definitely all Mario games are great for children.

  • Can I return my copy I got last week and get this?

    • Yes. Standard return is 30 days.

    • as i heard from a JB staff, they do have 14 days price guarantee policy. probably just bring ur receipt to a JB store n ask for a refund for the price difference.

  • +1

    i just paid $69

  • Does it have any difficulty or is it super easy like other games in the series.
NSMBU was the best and most challenging game in series and that was before the Luigi DLC?

    • It's fun and easy, it's just a good game, to pick up, play a level or two, put down, then come back to it in 6 months time.

      • +1

At 131 levels, it'd take 32-65 years to finish at that pace.

  • -3

Most disappointing game in history, so easy a newborn can play and finish it without losing a single life but the fanboys will praise it no matter what

    • +1

Thought so. Isn't it only 5-6 hours long?

    • +2

I get it but i guess you're not the target audience. Odyssey was definitely more fun. Imo 64 is unmatched

  • you saved my day
