Our Pre-Workouts

We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

      @Dumb Dog just to give you an idea on some of the flavours in case this helps:

      Juicy Blue Raspberry and Sour Cola Gummy are our top sellers. The cola has a sour taste to it.

      Lemon Lime isn't overly sweet and is has quite a bit of citrus to it.

      Crisp apple is like a green Granny Smith apple.

      We only just released Apple Blackcurrant, Peach Rings and Sour Melon Lolly also.

    Thanks for the note on the pouches. Thought I must've been doing something wrong with the way I was opening them from the last batch of the WPI pouches I purchased.
    They don't seal at all at the moment, but just live in the pantry so not a huge deal. Glad to hear it's on the way to being solved!

      @FrugalHoward they have been quite the challenge for us. You wouldn't think a pouch would be simple to resolve, but believe me this has not been an easy project and has been both a combination of our machinery (which we have just had to upgrade) and also the actual pouches themselves we order in.

      We're now onto a batch that is 90% of the way there, but we have been through so many iterations with our current supplier.

      We are happy to send out replacement pouches if needed. But of course if the product arrives open we can always send a replacement product altogether.

      We've stuck with core pre-workout ingredients in the non-stim, with the exception of caffeine. Citrulline and beta-alanine does have some research suggesting that it may improve exercise performance. A few citations:

                  @brainactive: @brainactive yep that's what we offer.

                  As I mentioned in the video, I do believe that the onus is on us to provide you with a great quality product. If you're going to give us a go and put forward your cash, then we will take on board that risk in case it doesn't meet expectations.

                  Not much of a catch. There's a reasonable time period of 30 days from receiving your order. You can open the product up and try it out and in most cases we won't ask you to ship it back (the main exception is usually in case we need to investigate a specific issue, but this is very rare). If, on the rare occasion, we do request you to send it back, we will cover any costs of this.

                  Shipping on our Amino Z range is free to you and there is no shipping outlay on your behalf.

                  I guess the only other potential catch is that we do have a "fair go" policy to prevent abuse of this. 99.99% of our customers are awesome and there's never a problem. But all it takes is one bad egg to ruin this for everyone, so if we do suspect that this is being abused beyond what is reasonable, we may decline. I cannot recall the last time our team did decline one of these requests, but some examples could be creating multiple accounts and redeeming under each, a chargeback was initiated, an unreasonable number of requests etc.

                  I hope this provides clarity. We designed this programme to build trust with our customers trying our private label and so we do try to make this process as easy as possible.

                    The spirit in which we have created this guarantee is to ensure that you can try the product risk-free. So that means that you can order it, open it, try it and if you don't like it, hit us up.

                    Personally I think it would be unreasonable for us to deny any guarantee claims if you don't like the flavour or texture of the product. How else do you know if you like the product or not? And I think that would be disingenuous of us to promote such a guarantee if there were such a catch involved.

                    We're not offering this guarantee to try and catch you out. That's a recipe for disaster for everyone involved. I promise you that if we were dodgy with this offer, our reputation would take a massive hit. We certainly would not have the support that we have on OzBargain. Nor would we have the overwhelmingly positive reviews we have online on other reviews websites. Our customers allow us to continually improve and so it is our responsibility to do right by our customers.

                      @aminozcomau: Apologies for the initial scepticism and thanks for all the replies, its just that I have dealt with numerous brands in the past which promised excellent warranties but when the time came to return device, they came up with every excuse under the sun to refuse and the return delivery process was a nightmare.

                      I did have one more question relating to this. Do you repackage and resell opened/returned products?

                        @brainactive: No worries @brainactive - I'm a consumer too and I know exactly what you mean. I'm sure we can all relate.

                        Also a good question in relation to repackaging returned products. Unequivocally the answer is no - under no circumstances do we do this. There are many reasons for this and a few are as follows:

                        • This would not be compliant with legislation and therefore illegal, nor would it even be ethical.
                        • Such practice would be negligence on our behalf.
                        • This would represent massive risk to our customers. There is no definitive way for us to ascertain if the product has been tainted or spoiled.
                        • Further on this, the risk to our business is far, far too great. Imagine us trying to save a few dollars and yet exposing our entire business to this type of risk - ie. risking the health and wellbeing of our customers. So if we were to undertake such a practice and one of our customers got sick, that would constitute negligence on our part. That would not only open us to a massive lawsuit, but also fines, the eradication of our brand reputation (overnight) and probably this entire business. I've spent 17 and a half years trying to build our reputation so this is obviously a no-brainer.

                        Frankly, even if we wanted to do this (which in absolutely no world we would…but just purely as a hypothetical), the cost associated with having the product shipped back to us, re-bagging it, re-checking it etc. is not even worth it from an economical point of view - we may as well just make a new product. Most of the time we just ask our customers to keep the product they are unhappy with, because the cost of shipping the product back is significant. Besides, we don't want to inconvenience our customers in the first place for us sending them something they didn't like.

                        So anyway, on the very (very) rare occasion that we do request for our product to be returned, we do this in order to test the product so we can identify the root cause of the issue and ensure it isn't repeated. The product is quarantined and then disposed of once our investigation is complete.

      I can recommend - definitely feel the effect. It doesn't mix great, which is not a big deal for me, just shake it up a bit more. The mango flavour is strong - next time I'll get flavour free and add my own mix.

        I definitely feel the effect too. I can't compare it to the stim varieties as I haven't tried them, but I have tried tried a different non-stim pre workout and felt the effect of Amino Z's more.

        Also agree that the mango flavour is a bit too strong so I think I'll opt for flavour free too.

        As someone who takes vegan protein and non stim pre-workout, thank you for including this as an option in this promotion!

      It depends on how you train.

      If you're doing high-intensity exercise where endurance is a factor, ingredients like citrulline and beta-alanine can help with oxygen uptake and muscle recovery. I wouldn't overstate the effects - we're talking marginal improvements.

      Personally, as someone who does heavier, low-intensity workouts, I don't get much bang from a pre-workout other than the "clean" caffeine (so I wouldn't bother with a non-stim pre workout for my current workout style). That being said, there have been some training cycles where I feel like a pre-workout gives me a better "pump". That might be important to you.

    You can get approximately 142 shots of coffee from a 1kg bag of beans and it'll cost you about $30. Pre workouts are like gaming chairs for gym-bros.

      Agree… that's what I do… I don't even buy coffee beans… just buy instant. Coffee beans are for my morning coffee :)

      For sure but taste is a big factor. I can’t do black coffee and more than 1 coffee with milk is too much in a day. Pre workout works well for me.

      It's more convenient and a lot less time then brewing/making and drinking a coffee. Some people don't want to just drink 3 shots of coffee or more considering the high stim pre has 350mg of caffeine in it. There's also other beneficial properties in the pre workout. Everything in life comes down to convenience.

      Nothing wrong with coffee. I would agree that caffeine is one of the key selling points of both a coffee and a pre-workout.

      Despite being different products in terms of composition and taste, if you don't value those differences in a pre-workout then you may as well save your cash. I think as mentioned above, convenience is a big factor too.

      Personally - my body does not like coffee first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, or even with a light meal.
      But I do fine with the caffeine in a pre-workout.
      So it's not just convenience.

      Coffee does nothing for me.. I usually make myself a double shot after 7pm and sleep like a baby each night.

      Some people need a preworkout. Others that are sensitive to caffeine can probably do just fine with a coffee.

      As someone who trains after work I need something to put me in the mood to workout and it’s other ingredients in the preworkout that help with that and help keep me focussed throughout my session. Coffee does none of that.

    Will definitely be ordering another batch of pre workout! Huge fan of your products now after initially trying the protein. I didn’t realise you had a high Stim so I’ll be going that, the complete was good but I need a bit more kick. I can highly recommend the pineapple coconut, it’s delicious. Will give a couple other flavours a try. Also I have had the package issue with the pre workout, creatine and 1 of the bags of protein. I much prefer the bags but definitely needs some refinement.

    Just my luck, I bought a single bag of the non-stim pre-workout yesterday and picked it up straight away :(

    Any chance of being able to be fixed up with another 30 serve bag to take advantage of this deal? (Order #109871388) I would also grab a bag of WPI with the discount if possible.

    Also just to contribute to this thread, I've been having the mango nectar flavour of the non-stim pre-workout and love it! A bit on the sweet side as mangos are, but is an absolute treat with 600ml water and ice.

    I switched to Aminoz from VPA because they were cheaper, had to get used to the taste because it tasted weird in the start. Ordered WPI again in choc hazelnut flavour in last deal. It tastes a bit plasticy and doesnt taste like hazlenut at all. closure on the packaging came off in a couple days.
    Switched back to VPA and difference between the quality is noticeable.

      Yes, we did actually have a flavour issue with our choc hazelnut and I don't blame you for not liking it at all. We have since discontinued this flavour because it was not up to scratch.
