    This seems sketchy for a few reasons. The trust pilot score is low at 1.4 stars. The UI also screams scam. Giving away your tax file number, drivers licence and debit card information is a big risk in my opinion, even if it is standard for trading platforms. Has anyone had success with past deal? ie actually withdrawn cash?

          Same as every trading platform I've used. You convert your USD to AUD and a couple of days later you have the funds in your bank account. I've even had it next day with Webull.

          If you do a search for Webull on here you can read all the previous threads. Pretty much every question under the sun has been asked and answered. Lots of info in there.

            @wavesgreen: It says 0 US dollars available to convert to AUD after I put an order up to sell the shares, and the order was filled. Also shows I have a balance in the assets tab. It says one of the reasons why you can't withdraw is "unsettled funds". How can you find if your funds are settled or not?

              @Aldrin120: All share trades have a 2 day settlement period, this is standard across platforms. When the trade is settled the funds will appear in your USD balance.

        Do you understand my concern though? There are alot of comments that have been removed on this post in particular. Alot more than others. Do you think there is a chance of corrupt moderators on OzBargain? I'm pretty new here and I trusted this platform up until I shared this with people and they all said it's a scam. What is the actual business incentive behind a deal like this? There's no way they could turn a profit from this event. I'm just approaching this critically with such sensitive data.

      I mean Webull's offerings did get worse and worse as the year went on. This deal as it stands is better than any going back to March, way better than March in fact.

      There was circumstantial evidence for deals being better towards the end of the month but I don't know that I would bet on it.

        Tried that strategy twice. Made no difference. In this offer, it's a standard allotment.

        The offer a few months ago of the $20/$40 trading credits was the best IMO.

          Nah cos it was still a dice roll and the odds seems skewed to the minimum. I was lucky to get a $40 voucher among mine but still cleared less than AUD$190 per referral. Guaranteed AUD$200 is better.

            The trading vouchers were all in USD. I recall having USD 280 in vouchers and the remainder were in TSLA and AAPL fractions.

    How long does it take to get the free shares? I received a message in the app which says "congratulations! you have received reward" and it says to redeem within 30 days, when I click it the link says me to a blank page

      You need to claim the rewards in My Rewards area, then it will take a bit for then to transfer. For me it is saying they'll be transferred in about 2-3 weeks all up.

    Also just deposited $0.01, do I need to wait for the deposit to be cleared to get the remaining 6 fractional shares, how long will this take?

          Update, called 1300 545 899 (onshore support), they found my friend's account, said the sign-up wasn't attributed to my link. Then said to send a screenshot of the text to my friend (of my link) to chat support on the app, who I've already been in contact with, to get both our shares manually allocated. Hoping for the best but not banking on it.

      Probably not, but any harm in trying? You'll know early in the process. I'd use a different email, phone number and different piece of ID (if you make it that far) to maximise your chances. Report back and help the OzB 'community'.

    I am new to share apps.
    managed my way through to create an account with referral links and all.
    I can not find my reward through website but managed to find and claim on the app.
    in my rewards folder - claimed all 10 shares.
    now they are moved to in transit folder and expected delivery date - 20/11/2023, is this normal?
    wait for 30 days for another 10 shares then i can sell it if i like - correct ?

      Decent for US trading, but not the cheapest (brokerage + FX). I don't mind their app's UI, but other people have said they don't like it. Have not considered it for ASX. Most people have taken the money and run, or kept their shares on the platform.

          No, it's only showing the value, but if u want to buy US one, u need to convert it to become USD. Same when we sell this free Tesla, it becomes USD we need to convert it to AUD to withdraw. U can see your cash in the webull menu/cash management and select the currency on top screen. Their forex conversion is pretty decent

    I started setup in the link on my browser on my phone and then finished the setup on the app since it was having trouble sending me a pin on the web. Seems to have missed out on the condition to get the referral successfully even though the original browser said it went through and to log in with the same phone no.

    Contacting support to see if they can help out.

    Update: They just said too bad so sad.

    Will try again with an e-mail instead perhaps.

      First deposit funds. If buying US shares, convert from AUD to USD in the app by clicking on the webull symbol, then transfers, then currency exchange.

      Go to watchlist, you can search for any shares of indexes you're interested in to add to your watchlist. Then click on the share or index you like then click Trade. I like to buy using a market order as you can buy a small fractional amount. Click the blue button to change the buy method from share to AUD/USD then you can buy only 5 dollars worth if you want. After buying, click the webull symbol then under Assets you can see the positions you have open.

        its weird i have exchanged and now i have USD 100.
        after selecting the portfolio, it says minimum investment amount is US100, but estimated maximum is US90.90
        i cant buy USD100 because its over the maximum
        but if i enter USD90.90 it says i cant because its less than the minimum

    So how do we find out the exact value of the shares when it actually reaches our account? I can't seem to find it anywhere (looking for future taxation purposes)

      You can get an estimate by multiplying your proportional shares by the current share price. Your final value in AUD will depend on the share price and foreign exchange rates.

      eg 20x0.032=0.64
      0.64xUSD$219.27=USD$140.33

          From memory, confirmation of address needs to be a statement dated within the past three months from a local council, bank etc. What have you submitted that is getting rejected?

      yes, transit time is now 2 weeks (used to be a week). u can check the date in that transit tab (they sometimes released it earlier though, so read that as "the latest" u'd get it)

    So anyone able to help with the tax implications and best way to go around it.

    Primarily how to find the price that you inherited at. Just off the confirmation statement? Where you need to basically match the amount of fractional shares to the value at the time you received them. Is there an easier way to do this.

    How to lodge the correct forms through webull for the states, do we need to if tesla doesn't pay dividends, W-8BEN is for dividends I think.

    Also does webull send data to the ATO during tax time automatically or do you need to add everything yourself?
