          • @420SaveIt: I eventually called the help line. The wait was about 20 minutes yesterday. They emailed me a link where I could directly exchange the card for gift vouchers of a particular retailer.

Each link only supports one retailer and one type of card as I understand it, so if you have multiple types of cards and multiple retailers to redeem for then ask for those too.

  • +1

As usual some old female making their own rules and thinks they own the coles.

I dont know where they come with 3 cards per household rule even if you show them the catalogue. Yes i didnt buy any other cards before and I didnt bother buying these 3 as well.

    • +1

There are always some staff like that eventhough it's clearly printed 5 per customer. When I go with my partner, we just pretend not to know each other and paying at different cashier these days. Not worth arguing :)

  • +11

Regarding redeeming the cards at JB, I found it much easier and less stressful to convert them over to proper JB codes then do a C&C. Saves you fluffing around instore scanning every card and people giving you looks.

Plus is saves the staff a heap of work.

    • +1. click and collect was ready within 30 minutes of ordering as well.

    • how to convert to jb codes?

    • Is it a 1 for 1 conversion or can you amalgamate say 5x $30 cards to a $150 JB code?

      • I asked the exact same question earlier. Short answer is no, 5x $30 cards = 5x $30 JB codes.

Would be nice to consolidate them into one amount but alas is not to be.

  • +1

Couldnt convert to JB. Card number not recognised.

Tried checking balance and apparently got an email card registered. And then tried converting and it worked.

    Hope anyone finds it helpful!

  • Looking for some assistance. I want to buy a TV from JB for $2,000.

I have purchased $600 in TCK Kids gift cards in $30 denominations. Can I do the following:
    1. Pay in store - split payment $30/TCN card and hit EFTPOS AND Pay balance by JB gift card.
    OR
    2. Convert TCN gift cards to JB Cards. Can I consolidate all cards and redeem $500 and $100 JB hi fi? Then pay balance via JB gift card?

Thanks all. Trying to make life easier in the store as conscious as paying via 20 cards and then via gift card, i will be a massive pain in the ass.

    • Give your cards to shop staff and they will process as required. Pay rest with credit card.

I paid with 61 gift cards.

      • the next step will ban people using more than 5 GC to pay for items, its coming.

JB staff all told me theyre tired of it, they even have to put extra staff on! weather or not something happens lol

        • -2

I don't think they will ban it as they make plenty money still. Only took her 19.15 minutes to process $3929

  • does the 24hr store in Burwood East have any cards? should I just hang around til 1am and wait for them to restock the shelves tonight?

    • +1

Do it and tell us how you go. Maybe even stay the night in case they restock at 5am.

    • +1

Nope, I was driving past yesterday and called in hoping to grab a couple more. I asked the staff if they had any more, they said (and I quote). "All the Chinese people came in and bought them all".

Whether they got any more after that I don't know.

      • They actually said that???

        • +1

          Yes, albeit discreetly.

I don't think there was any racism intended, just stating a fact.

  • Plenty of various cards at Greensborough this afternoon - although I'm not sure if they were $50 or $100.

  • Can i do a 3 way split payment at JB using TCN giftcards, jb giftcards and cash?

    • +1

should be fine, tcn gc is like eftpos.

  • Visited a couple Coles in South West Sydney, all out :((

  • Couldn’t find stocks ( Southport ) yesterday ,

    • -2

Thats awesome, not sure why the negative did the best possible deal.

Probably down voted you for driving back to coles to buy more the second time, couldve saved on fuel there. Hahaha

  • Anyone know how many cards can be used at toyworld instore? Thanks

  • +14

Just a heads up for anyone interested, TCN changed the participating retailers for three of the gift cards in this deal within the last 48 hours:

    • Scooter Hut was removed from the Choice gift card.

    • Kogan was added to the Home and Shop gift cards.

    • but then the Shop GC isn't on 15% off right?

      • +1

The Coles catalogue says it is on sale.

This OzBargain deal says it is on sale.

        • +1

Oops my bad. Sorry and thanks Wookie

    • Thanks for all your contributions on this website WookieMonster!
Just wondering if you or anyone has had any luck using the SHOP card on Kogan? I tried to redeem using the kogan link on the TCN website
but no luck. I keep getting the following 'Please check your Card Number and try again'. Have tried multiple times without success.

Have checked balance on my card which works and states I have the full card value.
      https://thecardnetwork.com.au/pages/swap/the-shop-card-brand…

      • You need to register the card first before you can swap the cards.

        • Thanks SunnyinDubai, I just tried to register but I get the following message.
'Request failed with status code 400'
          What a frustrating process :(

          • @SimpleSimom: Answer to my own question if anyone else is affected. Have tried about 36 hours after purchase and card now works. No need to register cards; just covert to Kogan on TCN website.

  • Hi Just wanted to check, if I pay via these giftcards at JB, will this cause any issues for TRS rebate as the method of payment on the reciept will be multiple cards!

  • How do you know when the cards are ready to be used at JB Hifi?

    • Yes as long as it's one they accept. Did 61 differt ones today.

  • Great deal but terrible company, don't have anything good to say about "The Card Network"
Purchased two discounted $100 TCN Cards. Only activated around 28 hours after purchase. Swapped for two vouchers only one has been sent, it’s been over four hours since then. Balance checker, no longer works on both cards. Tough luck I guess, but these delays and “glitches” seem rather convenient for them.

  • where the hell are these cards???

I've been to 5 stores and all they have is tons of Him/Her/Active/Baby/Shop. in fact there's no room on the shelves for the supposed ones that are included.

and when I ask staff they say there's no more in the back. what do I do???

can someone confirm what store has stock and what time restocking happens? I'll genuinely wait at 8am if I need to

    • +2

Unfortunately, you got people who are buying 50+ cards and clearing out stores.

Only a matter of time before Coles staff are told to lock them down .

    • +1

How many are you looking to buy?

Surely driving to 5 shops and the time spent isn't worth the $30-50 bucks in savings? Assuming you find 5 cards.

      • $90 in savings. it's for a PS5.

    • Found some in Blackburn North this morning, and also some in Greensborough yesterday late afternoon.

  • It's really hard to find $100 Home card…
Today I bought 5x $50 Home cards, I will visit other stores tmr…
    Good luck guys~

Just wondering what the go is with Asians buying these?

I went to a few Coles and every shop and I mean every one of the 7 I visited had several Asians in a group looking to buy these cards. Not only this deal but other time it was the visa or master cards. When JB there was Asian woman buying iTunes cards with these gift cards. I wonder what's the go here.

Are these used for scams of some sort or money laundering I wonder.

    • +2

According to my asian mum its just the latest craze on their form of social media/ozbargain. Would definitely not be for scams or anything shady lol

    • I'm not Asian, love the prepaid MasterCard weather card or digital ones!

They're easy for me to use everywhere, I try get $1000-$2000 worth.

Maybe Asians wanna save on everything, spose it adds up.

    • +11

Just wondering what the go is with Asians buying these?

You bought 61 and looking for more and you are asking this question? Seriously

      • -1

Dude’s just casually racist, let’s face it.
Next thing he’ll say is “oh, I actually meant agents, not Asians” or “I am somewhat Asian myself, so it’s ok to ask”.

        • Lol racist. No racism involved, just facts and yes I am of Asian origin.

      • -2

Not looking to buy more and yes I did buy them to genuinely buy a TV.

        • +3

I did buy them to genuinely buy a TV

Haha, seriously? Do you think others buy cards just for fun, and not to genuinely buy something with these cards?

          • +1

@olderman: ofc not, clearly he's the only one that has a legitimate purpose for purchasing an insane amount of gift cards, every other asian is money laundering or getting scammed

  • how are you finding these gift cards? Ive been to my local Coles 3 days in a row and they've been sold out :/

  • I’ve been to Marrickville, Earlwood and Clemton Park on Wednesday, but nothing. Wynyard yesterday, only $30s behind the counter. Marrickville, Brighton Le Sands and Ramsgate at opening today, nothing as well. There was a bunch of people in Marrickville this morning running as soon as they opened the gates.

  • -1

Can someone please advise if the TCN home card can be used at JB hi fi for purchasing macbook?

    • Yes, there is no problem.

      • Thank you @JNM, appreciate your response. Have a great day!

  • +6

I was just at Coles in Victoria Point, Queensland and saw someone stashing cards……

"To keep it fair, I won't say where,
Beneath Coles' lights, where ozbargainers do dare.
Grocery aisles hum, a culinary lair,
A tale of Three Kingdoms, all buyers beware"

    Happy hunting out there.

    • Thats near me! Just joined to ask if you can give any other clues?

      • +3

"In aisles adorned with flavors wide,
Spices dance in a savory stride."

    • +1

Really tempted to drive 30mins there just to play this…

  • +3

    Traveled 20+ coles
    Bought 100 cards
    Used 99 in one go
    Total value $3600
    Receipt length 7.2m

Maybe we can update the record.

    • -1

doesn't sounds like worth it but its your own time and effort, it feels free to you. also i know you don't care, but the staff and people who see this would think you are one special kind

      • +4

What are you doing on ozBargain? We all are a special kind here, if you don't feel you belong, there are options…

        • indeed special, jump in while i wasn't talking to heheh also just you are special, not me. i don't ransack all coles in town, transfer swipe gift cards until sore hand and staff turn impatient

      • I did 61 cards at JB and 5.1m receipt. Staff was more than willing and said they expected many more. I did have cards ready scratched and I a pile to help out. All done in 19.15 minutes.

        • but how many hours on traveling around the town, visiting all coles (fuel, transport cost?), collecting, paying. also if you need to transfer them online, that's lots of numbers to input :) paying at JB is after all the legwork. as i said it is your own time and effort. feels cost free.

          • @Rifulreinhardt: 3 hours driving around in local area with my 2 kids and I saved $600. Sounds worth it to me.

          • @Rifulreinhardt: I only bought 10x $50 cards (first time doing this), with a $75 saving. I did waste a fair bit of time driving to each Coles, then registering and converting the cards to JB codes so I'm not sure if it was worth it in the end.

It was a bit of fun though but I doubt I'll bother in future.

    • Question is how long it took you?? My overtime rate is $75 an hour
      3 hours $225
      Fuel? At least $20?

Still worth it I guess, but alot of effort.

      • +2

To top it off 10% and 5% off is readily available. So is it really worth the 5%-10% net difference.

      • Some enjoy the effort and the results, it's not like work at all imo.

    • Solid effort

    • are you the one that bought from jbs in helensvale. If so staff showed me the reciept lol.

  • Yes and there were few left in all stores I went Wednesday 12pm

  • My local call said there was 40 people waiting it in the morning on Wednesday, and it doesn't seem like they restock them and this particular cold store stayed on top of keeping them behind the counter or something like that. So unfortunately there's these people that bounce around with their whole families at 6:00 a.m. makes it impossible to get these

  • By now they are probably running dry, as they don't have unlimited supply of GCs.

  • yeah its BS, we tried 5 stores in perth literally 1hr after opening on day 1 of the sale, all gone.. and i know they had plenty of stock on shelves prior to… so either the staff have done a dodge and hoarded for themselves or something else is going on… rare as hens teeth..
Woolies have 50 million of them on display.. so you know its not a shortage of stock…

    • Still couldn't find in perth yesterday and today.

Yesterday I asked some coles staff, they said the cards will definitely be restocked but don't know when. Have to keep checking everyday

    • -3

True ozshoplifters take home all GCs throughout the year. Looking for GCs after frenzy starts is too LATE. Preparation is KEY.

    • At 3pm this afternoon, Coles Vic Park had available the $50 'Kids' card.

  • +1

Checked reserv, greensborough, bundoora, brunshwick, cobug. No stock of home, teens, or kids, although they some had active, choice and cinema cards 😔

I even asked staff when they restocked and they said they dont know

    • +1

      Staff sick of THAT q

    • I went reservoir, Summerhill, Bundoora,Lalor on Wednesday around 10pm, Summerhill had 5*$50 Home, other 3 is all $30 card but around 20-30 each, though already had some Asian ladies eyeing on it(I Asian too btw.

  • +2

They should have know this would happen and have 10k in each store

  • good luck coudn't find any $50 Teen or Home cards at 2 Coles in Tweed for JB HiFi purchase, only a couple of $30 ones on shelf, they heaps of the others not on sale but only one rack of ea mostly empty for the 15% off.

  • My local Coles in Brisbane was all out tonight, the guy at the service desk I asked said they barely had any to begin with.

  • Coles Cessnock has stacks of gift cards including Home $100. Really good availability if anyone is in the area!

  • Does anyone know if Good Food Guide vouchers can be combined into a single card? E.g. if I want to get $1000, could I combine 5 cards into one?

  • +3

I wish my self awareness was as low as the people taking 60 GC to a cash register
