  • Do you think they would let you rock up on the day just to pick up the tyres without fitting them?

  • tried calling but got told their system was done and to book online..

  • Just called the main call centre for help with stock and ordering, their system is down and recommending to either visit a store or call later in the day. Poor guy sounded very stressed.

  • Online portal booking looks okay and able to look via desktop.

  • Went to shop and they said that their system crashed.

    • Better to order online. I was in line waiting but manage to order on the website before my it was turn.

      • I ordered online yesterday the money was deducted from account but no confirmation

        • Did it around 8.30am this morning. Confirmation right after.

  • Done booked for both of my cars , Thanks

  • Booked the tyres online, promo says the service can only be booked after tyres (discount for service not showing anyway when I try to do it together).
Got the confirmation for tyres now how do I book the service with the discount?

  • Early this morning the tyre I wanted was "Limited" and I was advised to call. Tried again 30 minutes ago and the tyre was back in stock. The check-out and booking process went smoothly.

  • Almost purchased 4 tyres for BMWX3. But upon talking to them realised that they are NOT RUN FLAT TYRES.
Same model tyres in other stores are RFT but not in this store

  • Just says call for nearly all stores for the Scorpion AT+, try to call and it just hangs up after 5m with an error at this stage seems unattainable

  • +2

I managed to find a store which stocked my tyres but when going to book a date, it's greyed out until 2026? I'm unable to select any dates…

    • I'm having the same issue for some reason, tried firefox and chrome on windows and android

  • I cant seem to find PZero 235/45 R20

  • +1

    No issues ordering online here.

  • Booked on desktop and got a confirmation email right away , didnt have any issues!

  • "The booking portal has crashed - unable to take bookings on the phone as well, pls try again online or call later in the afternoon."
Update - Tried again online and the booking was successful.

  • is this PIRELLI POWERGY XL 99V good ?

    • According to online review, very high wear, may not last 20k km

    • -4

All powergy are crap. Come with about 6mm of tread and you'd swear they were used when they put them on for you. Lucky to get 12K km out of them

  • booked 4 x 255/50 R20, great price ($1100), quick easy booking available at multiple local outlets. Guess I got lucky!

  • What's different Wheel Alignment Service (they charge $89) and Wheel Balancing (it's free service for every tyres you buy) ? Are they same services ? Thanks

    • +5

Wheel Balancing is where they take the tyre off, put it on a machine that spins it. Then they apply weights to balance the wheel to make it run smoother.

Alignment is done with the wheels on the car, and puts them in the right position to minimize uneven wear.

  • Anyone else keep getting error
    "Oops, something went wrong
Error while fetching details. Please try again." when selecting logbook service kms??? Been like this all morning!

  • Need some help choosing between PIRELLI POWERGY XL 98Y and PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 XL 98Y. Which do you folks reckon is the better option? Ideally I prefer comfort and longevity.

    • avoid powergy, they come with just over 6mm depth tread brand new! Other tyres have 8mm if not more. Powergy will wear out quickly as softer compound and only 6mm tread. I cancelled my order immediately. Not sure about the Cinturato, however will look at other better brands now.

      • What is the easiest way to cancel? I ordered the powergys this morning but am thinking of cancelling now.

        • +3

youre going to listen to one random on the net to make your decision? lol!

          • +1

@franco cozzo: Thats what my friend said, different drivers and cars behaviour all impact how long tyres can last, as long as its a good brand + good deal who cares if they not last or not, even if last for 2 years 1/2 price deal like this still worth it!

          • @franco cozzo: Do your due diligence and find out for yourself then. Heaps of reviews out there actually measuring how much tread is on there.

        • Keep your tyre pressures correct, drive sensibly and make sure your front end is properly aligned.
Bad FE alignment can wreck new tyres in less than a year.

      • Thanks..Did a bit more research and for my current needs, going with the Cinturatos. I save my harder driving for my home country. Speeding in NSW only brings harsh fines. Will be doing a lot of long distance mainly highway driving. Need as much depth thread I can get.

      • Just checked my new Powergys (approx 600km) and they have 6.5mm tread and its 4.7mm to the top of the wear bars, so really you're getting 4.7mm of usable tread. Nice to drive on but probably not worth much more than the price they are going for today.

    • +1

The P7's are a 20 year old design with similar performance to most bottom end budget tyres, powergy's have good technical performance but terrible longevity. The P7's for instance can be expected to last nearly twice as long for example and they're not even particularly durable tyres.

    • Look at Goodyear Sport through Jax. They have buy 3 get one free plus 15% discount.

  • +1

nice thanks and booked in furthest date as I just did my service and need not to change tyres immediately.

    • Same here. Booked for jan 27.

  • Wondering if a knowledgeable person might be able to assist me.
Wife has a 2019 Hyundai Accent Sedan. Not heavily driven, done around 30000 km and still has the original factory tyres from Day 1.

I went to the driveway and they are Optimo 195//50R16/ 84H

When I put the rego in via the mycar website I don't get an option for Pirelli tyres at all. Current tyres seems good weirdly but I'd love to lock away a set for the inevitable change soon. I'm fine if it's months from now…I guess one could even buy them and then pay to have them fitted later on

Guess my question is maybe Pirelli don't make tyres for this car? Thanks in advance 🙂

    • I had a look at mycar and mobile tyre shop. Neither come up with Pirelli options in your size. There were options in 15” but not the 16” that you have.

It is a bit frustrating but it is what it is.

  • How long do tyres last unused?

I have a spare car, it's a classic but I need new tyres for it

    I barely drive it tho.

This deal happens every yr, so maybe no point.

  • Better off booking online, I tried the call centre and store.
A hopeless system without SOH function.
Instead, I decided to book online for my shitbox Camry and hope that the new tire would be better than my current Rapid P309, which was installed four years ago and cost me the same amount.
I needed an alignment as the roads in Western Sydney are in terrible condition, with potholes the size of basketballs on either side, making it feel like driving through Southeast Asia.
Chose the Powergy as I only drive 1500km per year.

  • -6

Basically just a scam. Nothing available online having checked 15 stores. Went in to a store - nope, system down and can't help. Same thing on the phone. Will not bother trying again.

    • had that experience last year, but miraculously worked this year and managed to get a booking with ease.

    • So the scam lets everybody else buy tyres for half price, but just not you? OK

  • Booked Powergys last night but I'm going to call up and cancel. From all accounts threadware is far to short to justify even 50% off.

    • I got powergy booked too but worry cancel and buy again might screw up this time, particular someone said all dates already greyed out, will just stick with powergy, only $92 each for me, 2 years late will buy again from this deal if they can last over 20k km!

    • Was thinking the same thing. Got a couple road trips planned and if reviews are to go by the tyres will be done by the end of them. Not sure if I'll just stick with them and get new ones in a year (if they last that long lol) or cancel and try something else. Any recs for more durable tyres?

      • My current Hankook Kinergys have lasted over 50,000km.

        • +1

Yep I had those too -their longevity is remarkable.

          • +2

@King Tightarse: I bought the cinturato p6 last time, and they lasted me 50,000 also, and it's been 65k and two of them are still on the car (albeit on the back). the Ecopias that came with the car lasted about 60k also. Note: I don't drive like a hoon

  • +2

Tyres are in stock yet I can't find a time to book. All dates are Greyed out. Anyone else having similar issues? Thanks

    • reload the page, which worked for me!

    • having same issue, refreshed no luck

  • +2

wow, PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON $127ea. stonking price.

    • Yeah, mine were $119 each.

      Cheaper than most cheapo brands.

      Happy with that!

      • Yeah, 215/65R16 at $119, but I need 215/65R17 which are $172 each (+$53).

        • I got quote $127 each for 225/65R17

    • They were the tyres I wanted to get for our SUV but they didn't come up anymore, and now I get a different Pirelli option (PIRELLI P ZERO PZ4 NEW (VOL) 100V) - which seem to be more performance oriented rather than comfort/longevity.

    • I got recommended by their system for my 2018 xtrail. Is this a good choice of tyre? I have no idea

  • Dumb question, but I'm going to be selling our RAV4 soon (next month or two) and I'm not sure if I'll need new tyres to get the roadworthy - any idea an easy way of checking tread to see if it will pass in it's current state or if I'm better off buying a new set now with this deal? Cheers

  • Just called on the call centre and received a quote via email. Booked for 13th Jan as tyres will only come in by 10th Jan.
Was told no booking confirmation email will be received for bookings over the phone, however, they did book me at the service centre in Mount Druitt as per my choice.

  • does anyone know the difference between these two tyres?

    PIRELLI P ZERO 106Y https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/pirelli/p-zero/295-40R20/pi42…
    PIRELLI P ZERO (N0) 106Y https://www.mycar.com.au/tyres/pirelli/p-zero/295-40R20/pi22…

other than the price, I can't figure out what the difference is!

    • +2

Porsche spec - they have N0 to 6 depending on their own rating.

      • +1

        good that's what I need :)

  • Can anyone pls recommend good front tyres option for GLE250d 2017 Mercedes car? Trying to call mycar for last 2 hours but no luck in speaking to any sales person. I have very limited knowledge and dont know out of Perelli, continental, michellin. Which one is good. Thanks in advance.

    • +1

I'm no expert. However I would rank Michelin above the other 2. Especially if considering say the Pilot Sport 4s level tyres.

  • Just rang up call centre to place an order for the PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON 100V in 225/60 R18 100V, unfortunately no stock anywhere or in their warehouse. They weren't able to book me in for a future date either (once stock was available). Disappointing but expected as I didn't get a chance to look into booking new tyres until late afternoon.

Can anyone recommend any other tyre brand or store to replace tyres for the 5th gen Toyota RAV4? Currently running stock Bridgestone Alenzas which have served me quite well (approaching 90,000km!!). Wouldn't mind replacing like for like however was hoping to jump on the current Pirelli deal as it works out to be about half the price over the stock tyres (~$1200 vs $648!!).

    • Still stock online for this tyre, at least for Metro VIC.

  • +2

I rang the store and can confirm the $100 off logbook servicing is only if you buy tires

Good prices on the tires considering what I paid. Looking around like a maniac a year ago. However, I guess it's all about timing

He did say the website is crashing

  • +2

I forgot to add wheel alignment. Should I be able to request it in the day or call them in 2-3 days time after the BF dust has settled.

    • +3

id say so…dont wait too long or they might get booked out & not have time to do it when your tyres are done
i opted for it as it seemed to make sense with 4 new tyres, fitting, balancing etc…

  • +1

Thanks VERY much OP. Not far away so I went in, got the discount, they were happy to book it next week but turned out convenient to do this afternoon. So they are on already, great deal. Yes even their internal computer system has been down most of the day :)

  • I just head straight to mycar local store, and booked for 4 p7 tyres 235 55r18. It showed up on their booking timetable, but the staff said i dont need to pay anything yet, paid on the day. Is that correct anyone ?

    • +3

Correct. Pay on day of service.

    • Yep, same experience as well.

  • +3

phones go onto queue and then a "error occurs"

  • I have Bridgestone currently and want to input replace the front tyres since the rear ones are fine, is it a good idea to mix them?

  • Called. Got the queue error twice. Finally got to a rep he said no pirelli scorpion verse all season in the whole Australia. Next year retry it seems…

    • that's no good.. that's what I wanted to get

    • I got 22560R18 Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season 100V at Hartwell (Melbourne) for $162 each plus alignment. In stock so fitted this afternoon. So maybe not "whole" Australia.

      • Same.

Just checked again and still seems available in Melbourne stores. So not sure why they are saying that.

  • I have perfectly good stock road tyres and have only driven 12,000 kms. Would like all terrain for the ability of doing more off road driving. I doubt you get much for second hand tyres and we don't really have the space to store them to alternate.
    Dilemma…

  • +1

I'm booking and can book ok, but no discount? Buying pirellis, not sure what else to do? Called them 5 times, can't get through

Edit: ok I see what's happened, the tyres for my car are suddenly (albeit after a couple of years) double the price than they were last time I purchased. Used to be about 110-120, MyCar selling the for 210, so I'm getting them for 104 each, hardly 50% off. Just to be sure, Tempe are doing them now for 145, and Tyroola are doing them for 123. At Tempe the alignment if 20 bucks less so it's hardly 50% off

    • still showing discount here…have you tried another location?…just saw your edit

      • Yeah, had a look, and checked the exact tyre, actually $139. I guess some discount better than none, but still :-/

        • Was having service at Toyota so asked Pirelli price there. Was twice what I paid later today at Mycar. Tick. Of course I expect some other discounters would’ve quoted somewhere between the two prices but figured unlikely I would get them for less.
