Dick Smith iPad/iPod/iPhone Docking Station for 50% off + $20 iTunes Card All for $19.98

1380

These docks were orginally $49.98 on the price label instore, they were reduced to 19.98 and when I went to the register they said the item also came up on their system as get a free $20 Itunes Card as Well !! They were just a surprised and double checked before grabbing a couple for themselves. .

These docks are good as they can fit the Iphone / Ipad on the charger stand whilst leaving the cover on the device.

  • How about this one? Seems to be a decent deal
    http://dicksmith.com.au/product/C5938/philips-bluetooth-ipad…
    $49 with $20 iTunes card

    • Tried that one, but was a total fail on an iPad 3 … dock connector very difficult to locate into the iPad and, when it did connect, the iPad then wobbled around and would readily fall off - took it back for a refund (and returned the iTunes card) :(

  • Confirming iPad 3 again - plugged in atm

Managed to click and collect to (placed order yesterday)

    Thanks OP

    So well spotted!

  • Bondi Junction, Sydney have sold out.

  • Just picked one up from Bateau Bay store. I did click and collect. It said iTunes card not available. However when I went in store they had hundreds of cards.

Still about 7 docks on shelf :)

I tried Erina store, they are out of stock

  • Hi, anyone has problem with the iPhone not charging if it has a cover ? It seems that the connector cannot be inserted fully with the cover on

  • EDIT: NVM just found it

  • Sold out at my local store

  • picked up 2 at Rockingham WA 5 still in stock

  • Magic… the charger/power supply is 5 volts at 3 amps…that is a hefty power supply.

The normal ipad 2 requires 2.1 amps for proper charging from the supplied charger.

Iphone needs 1 amp from memory.

the extra 1 amp would be for the speakers in the dock.

    good stuff

  • Ashfield DSE still got few left. Dock sounds decent..technically it's a free dock when you purchase $20 iTunes card..

  • Gateways, WA still had 3 left when I left.

  • Mine doesn't work with iPad 3 at all, and only charges iPhone 4S.. :(

    • Also from werribee.. My girlfriends 4s works, buts she's on iOS 5

  • Took the last 1 from MacarthurSq today. Wife is happy :)

  • Just an update to my ipad 3 issue.. I managed to get mine working but I literally had to bend the ipad back and forth in the slot to get it to register.. even now i really have to push it hard down onto the connector for it to register.. So all is good..

  • Got the last stock from Randwick, NSW.

  • just got the unit. great deal. thanks OP

For those of you who claim the dock is practically free or you earned 2 cents, I must've missed the memo that said OzB'ers will accept paying $20 for a $20 iTunes Card is a good deal.

    :)

  • Total fail on the ipad 3. Works on 3gs iphone and early ipod. Still happy with it.

    • Try pushing down hard on the ipad 3.. mine didn't work but after a bit of arguing, it now charges..

      • Mine didn't even need forcing, although I had to remove the cover, as its a belkin cinema folio

        • Yeha.. i don't have a cover.. just a naked pad..

        • My ipad 3 was not recognised even after twisting and pushing down hard

        • well, what about when you pushed the ipad harder onto the dock?

  • Remove the ipad cover and it will work fine

  • I had two confirmed reservations available for ppl want it

    Bourke St, Melbourne x2
    Camberwell, Melbourne x2

two speakers on each reservations, but you can buy one only if you want

    • can I get in on that? if it's still available.

Was at Morley (Walter Rd, not in Galleria) and picked up the last Pioneer receiver - and picked up 5 of these for kids and nieces & nephew as they love iTunes cards. Anyway, there was still about 30+ on the shelf ,and a whole rack of gift cards.

  • Docks aren't sold out in Geelong, but apparently the gift cards are :( Sucks :(

  • my ipad2 said
This accessory is not supported by iPad.

you must have the snooty ipad that doesn't play with anyone from below its "class"

      • jailbreak and install popup blocker and you'll never get that message again.

    • I did try to push it very hard.
      Mine is on ios 6.

  • Rang Moonee Ponds dick smith VIC, no stock left :(

  • There were a couple in Broadway yesterday.

  • bought 2 from Claremont Quarter Dick Smith (WA).

    THANKS MarteeDee!!!!!!!!!!

    • Hey man how much stock was left

      • i think there was one left, but i heard the sales rep say that he might as well get one.
        in short- i'm not sure.

      • There were 2 left at the Morley store yesterday lunchtime if that helps(Walter rd not Galleria)
They're on the counter near the tills

  • Got one at Glenelg DS. Anyone having problems with iPod Touch 4G (think the box says it's supported)? I'm getting audio, but that's about it. It doesn't seem to charge it and I can only adjust volume with the iPod itself. Physical buttons don't seem to effect it. Can anyone confirm it's not just my unit?

Edit: Okay, it seems it was a case of not-pushed-down-enoughness. Working now.

  • I got 2, but neither is working for my iPod touch gen 2…crap

EDIT: I join the growing number who edit their comment and can now get it to work.

  • Think I got a dud. Figure out if I push my iPhone in real hard it plays, but there's no way to keep it in that far.. Oh well.. Still charges it

Edit: well, it's amazing how much dust the 30 pin connector can accumulate when the phone lives in your pocket for a year.. A few minutes with a pin and everything is working dandy :D for anyone who might have to push harder etc, try cleaning it out.

    Community announcement

    PUSH HARDER!!

  • Good work over the weekend fellow Ozbargainers, on Friday every Melbourne Metro store had ample stock and by Sunday night there are lots of stores all sold out.

  • Got two at Sunbury Vic, they have got quite a few.

  • this deal ends TODAY better hurry!

  • .

  • "and double checked before grabbing a couple for themselves"

Haha, Good deal OP, but I cracked up at your description of the Dick Smith staff.

  • Went to the Geelong store in person and they said they were not sold out, the website was telling lies - so I got the deal and so did the staff! Thanks OP!

  • Is anyone else in the same situation as me? Reserved two from Ashfield NSW on Saturday, haven't received a call/sms to say it's available. Still waiting..

    • Went in without confirmation - out of stock. Apparently I'm fifth in line and other nearby stores are sold out. Sigh.

Can anyone point me to a cheap as spare adapter for this so that I can take it to the patio without crawling under the kitchen buffet to unplug it

    • buy a second dock one? since its almost for free… (more like $5 if you factor in you can get $20 itunes cards for $15 usually and adaptors are probably more than $5)

and since the deal is over… maybe ask others on this forum if they wanna sell theirs lol

  • Hesitated and missed out. Back up to $39.98 this morning. :(

  • Let me tell you something, this mob at Dick Smith are cleverer than we think.
I checked online for my local store to see if they had any.I ordered a few for pick up the next morning.
By the morning, they were all gone !!! Miraculaously, they leave the customers hanging and get the bargains for themselves. And then the salesman said that they are out of stock of this unit but they have another one for $80- more !!!! Is he off his rock !

  • Went in today to check up on my reserved stock and the best they could do is to sell the dock at the sale price, but without the itunes card seeing that the offer ended on 8 September.

    • Yeah, picked mine up today but forgot to get the iTurds card. Is it too late?
