WPI Flavours

We now have 22 flavours available to choose from.

Our new releases for this deal are: Choc Cherry Delight (inspired by one of my favourite chocolate bars), Melon Milk (a new Asian inspired flavour), Iced Chai Latte (since Iced Coffee has been so popular and we have had a few requests)

We have kept our popular Asian inspired flavour releases (they were originally limited edition, but we decided to keep them) - Taro Milk Ice Cream, Pandan and Coconut Gelato and Matcha Green Tea Ice Cream.

All flavours are naturally sweetened. We have transitioned over to thaumatin for the fact that it is an all natural plant based sweetener, a superior flavour profile, a neutral insulin impact (as it is a protein) and being very gentle on the gut. A bit of trivia, thaumatin is about 10x the cost of artificial counterparts (eg. sucralose) and more than 5x the cost of stevia based on weight! Our focus remains on product quality.

Also note the Unflavoured option is straight WPI with just sunflower lecithin added at the point of manufacture to assist in mixing and reduce frothing (less than 1% w/w). There is no sweetener.

Product Breakdown

  • 100% Australian Blended and Packed in our Sydney Facility
  • Our manufacturing facility is owned by us and is a NSW Licensed Food Facility with an approved Dairy Processing license
  • For the nutritional information for each flavour, please click on the "Nutritional Info" tab. The best macros are for Unflavoured (Per serve: 29.7g P / 0.3g F / 0.4g C), and the flavour breakdowns will be variable. All other flavours have less than 1g of fat per serve and 1.2-3.7g of carbs/serve. The newer Aussie Choc Malt is the only exception with 9.9g carbs/serve (from the malt component) - I highly recommend it for the taste, avoid if you want to keep the carbs down.
    Aussie Choc Malt has a notably different macronutrient profile to other flavours. Following a formulation earlier in the year, we added real malt into this protein powder which brings the total protein percentage down to 64.4% (whereas most other flavours will be 80-90%, with a few of the chocolates and Neapolitan range between 76-80%). The flavour profile in the Aussie Choc Malt is amazing, but be aware that there are extra carbs from the malt that make the flavour amazing.
  • We only use WPI in this protein - this is not a blend of other cheaper proteins (for example Whey Protein Concentrate/WPC)
  • Protein is added hormone free, ultra and micro filtered and cold pressed
  • Naturally sweetened with thaumatin (except Cinnamon Icing which uses stevia). We do not use artificial sweeteners.
  • Soy free - we use sunflower lecithin instead of soy lecithin (soy is common in whey proteins)

  • Best Before Dates: Best before dates will be 18-24 months away. We turn this product over very quickly so all current stock has been produced recently.
  • Free Delivery: You will get free delivery on your entire order when you order any Amino Z or Bandito Labs supplements.
  • Applying Store Credit: To apply existing store credit (Z Points), firstly make sure that you are logged in. Then, go into checkout and after entering your delivery and shipping choice, select "Load Payment Methods". Once loaded, you will see an option entitled "Spend Your Points".     • I found the regular chocolate flavour better than smooth milk chocolate. I haven't had ON in a long time but I think Amino Z taste better than Optimum. Could be down to preferences.

            • @lonewolf: I believe it came down to a bad batch where the flavour wasn't great and really tasted sub-par for a bunch of people @lonewolf

              The flavour itself wasn't the greatest (I'll be honest) as we rushed it out for a deadline. Some people liked it and we did do some internal testing where people did like it. You can always try it out and if you don't like it then we will be more than happy to send another flavour out.

              • @devize: Just to follow up on this, the faulty batch did have a metallic flavour to it. The product is fine and safe to consume, but the flavour was impacted by the flavouring. Please reach out to us if you're affected by this and we'll happily replace at our expense.

I buy a lot of Aminoz flavours but havent opened / tried most of them out, Are there other flavours that i have purchased i should test also? I know in some i have the old and new flavours for them.I have bought so many different flavours, i am a bit worried now.

                      • @lonewolf: Yeah for me it was the smell that was most off putting. Mixed as part of a smoothie you couldn't notice it that much.

                        We have now implemented new QA measures in order to prevent this from happening again. This was clearly a mistake on our behalf.

                    • @aminozcomau: You could have sent an FYI email to all those who ordered this flavour and said something along the lines of there being a faulty batch, if anyone has any concerns then you'll replace it.

                      I tried the batch quite a few times and survived, so I'm sure you're right that it is safe. But it sure is worrying knowing that my initial concerns of it smelling and tasting like metal was indeed because of a faulty batch.

                        @devize: @devize just an update on this.

                        I've heard back and can confirm we didn't do a mass email. We have had several customers reach out to us for replacements which were all sorted out, but this should have been actioned.

                        I have just proceeded to contact every customer who purchased this flavour and you should likely have just received this email too.

                        I will be meeting with the team next week to identify the root cause of this oversight so it doesn't happen again. On the rare occasion that something substandard is released, this should be our usual course of action.

    Is the unflavoured palatable on its own?

      It's a mild milky taste. It's okay and drinkable, but personally I would only use it in a smoothie (or something else already flavoured). If you're sensitive for flavour, I'd avoid it as it will be no where near as nice as a flavoured option.

      That said, plenty of people drink unflavoured for the best macronutrient profile though, since there is no flavouring added in.

  • Out of the common protein brands (MyProtein, Optimum Nutrition, Musashi) I found Amino Z taste a lot better than the others. Couldn't stand the popular taro flavour though, still have a kg of that stuff and I can't stomach it.

  • Been using AminoZ for quite a while. Wondering if you’ll bring back the choc peanut cookie (I think that was the name) flavour? It was delicious and tasted like a snickers bar.

    • Currently we don't have a firm date on re-releasing this one. It is on our list but I am very sorry that I cannot promise anything definite on this flavour @unrequited

      I won't lie, we have had a few requests on the peanut varieties. Just no ETA.

  • I'm trying to order the Non-stim pre workout, however when I select 60 serves and multi flavour, I can't seem to order the mango nectar flavour? How can I go about this instead of ordering 2x30?

    • Looks like an issue on out site, sorry about this @reivaxX. I have just taken a look into this and I believe this flavour is being discontinued and won't be available as we are completely out of stock.

      I'm waiting for someone to get back to me to 100% confirm this and I'll let you know if I am told otherwise. I'm sorry for the confusion.

              Alternatively if you did wish to order the 60 serve version at the lower price point, Vanessa can also fix this up for you if you're able to shoot over a message.

              Sorry it took so long for an answer on this, our entire team has been working like crazy and it can be difficult to get in touch with the blending team when they are producing product as phones are not permitted in the facility for safety and quality reasons.

  • How do these two taste ..Pandan & Coconut Gelato and Melon Milk? I have ordered already

    • Pandan & Coconut Gelato tastes great like ice cream or gelato imo, but it creates a lot of foam when you mix them with a shaker.

      Can't say anything for melon milk since I just ordered one myself.

      @pyramid I just tried the melon milk prototype the other day before confirming the flavour for the launch of this offer.

      It's refreshing and tastes like a melon juice with a milky undertone. It's not excessively sweet or candy-like and is quite a unique flavour. But refreshing is probably the best word that comes to mind to explain this flavour.

      I don't know if that helps, but if you don't like it we'll be happy to replace with an alternative.


  • Ah perfect timing! I still have a bag of the cinnamon icing but it's just too sweet with the artificial sweetener…

    I had been meaning to reach out though. Before the last purchase I also signed up for a year of Club Z. It put me on a trial though so when I did my order I got the $55 credit instead of $65. I would have gone without the trial to get the extra credit.

    I was also wondering, my bag of unflavoured is very clumpy whereas some of the newer flavours are a really fine powder. Is this a different recipe between the unflavoured and flavoured?

      In relation to the unflavoured, is it clumpy when you mix it in liquid? Because it's a single ingredient, it may not be quite as fine as some of the mixed flavours. If you're referring to the powder itself, the straight protein does have a tendency to be less free-flowing than some of the flavoured versions. The flavours generally are a much finer powder which will flow much better when mixed in. There won't be anything wrong with the product and this is quite normal. But please let me know if this doesn't answer your question.

        The unflavoured kind of has a cornstarch consistency? It mixes through with a bit more effort in the shaker, but pandan flavour in comparison is like fine sand and takes little effort.

          Yes, that would be about right in relation to the powder consistency. But yes generally the flavoured ones will dissolve quicker too.
