49% off Thank You Blend Coffee Beans 1kg $22.70 + Delivery ($0 with $69 Order, Delayed Dispatch Available) @ Lime Blue Coffee

3870

Hey Oz Bargain Community,

The thought of this deal has literally kept me up all night thinking "have I gone too hard on this deal? Is the discount too big and margin too small? Oh no, what am I about to do and why am so much more nervous about this deal launch..?" Then I suddenly had a reassuring thought this morning "if I can't sleep for thinking about this deal, questioning if the deal is too enticing, then hopefully that means I'm onto something." Fingers crossed this deal's a real winner for all of you!

I been wanting to launch a new blend I've been working on and also send out a Black Friday Cyber Monday deal that would show how sincerely grateful I am for this wonderful community's support (has truly been life changing, thank you so much). On another note I also really wanted to go all out on this deal to turn a negative feeling I recently had into a positive outcome. Bear with me I'll try to not write a novel… I went to a large store recently and noticed a ~50% price increase on water within about a month. I know first hand costs have gone up a lot in certain industries (not complaining, simply acknowledging it), but I'm not aware of water being one of those industries, especially not within about a month. Then I started looking behind the bright coloured "special" tags on prices throughout that store, lo and behold I kept seeing that the "special" price was the same as the original full price. I left the store thinking "what on earth is going on here?!?!?!" Anyway nothing good comes from walking around ticked off. As such, I've tried to flip that negative feeling into a positive outcome via combining these three goals to offer this $22.70 per kg deal and name this new blend our Thank You Blend, which is aptly named for this time of year as it's a terrific gift to give yourself or someone else :)

We're offering you a 49% discount off our newly launched Thank You Blend,, only $22.70 per 1kg (usually $44.50 per 1kg).

The overall flavour of our Thank You blend is within the same general spectrum of our much loved Moments to Memories blend, however this new blend has distinctly enhanced sweetness, a bit more of an acidity kick and a fantastic symmetry of clarity between the chocolate and fruity notes, it's almost as if the flavours are perfect dancing partners

Deal valid for orders placed until 07/12/2023, unless sold out before. In terms of dispatch, I've been paying close attention to how the delivery companies are going to cope with BFCM this year and their network structures are already showing a few early cracks. I want you to have the best possible delivery experience. As such I've made the tough decision to limit adding further orders to the BFCM delivery company storm and do my utmost to manage the delivery experience for orders already scheduled for delivery in the next week or so. For this deal dispatch can happen for you as near as Monday December 11 (based on recent years that's when delivery companies get back on track) and as far as the second last Tuesday in January (30/01/2024). Once a given dispatch date is at full capacity the green circle will be removed and date will turn red, first in best dressed :)

Some helpful info:

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders scheduled for dispatch at various dates (delayed dispatch) to make the most of this deal, we strive to dispatch our fresh coffee within 48 business hours of roasting

  • would love to have a ground option available even if it's a couple of $ more

    • Hey @Dorf I do sincerely appreciate your thoughtful offer and hear the request loud and clear!

I'm sorry to say at present we simply can't offer this deal to include pre-ground options due to the extra time it would take to pack those order. I know you've even offered to pay a bit more, but you'll notice for this deal we've also removed the smaller 500g packaging as an options, which is already structed to cost a bit more than our 1kg bags. After this deal ends we'll likely add pre-ground options, so you will be able to try our Thank you blend in the future pre-ground, it just won't be based on this deal. However, if you're super keen, it may be the perfect opportunity to take the plunge and get a burr hand grinder, it should improve your flavour enjoyment ten fold without costing the world :)

  • +1

I'd be honoured if you could make an OzBargain blend

  • Love your MTM if this is similar then I am in, got 2kgs :)

    • Hey @snippy fantastic, thank you so much for another amazing order, your continued support really does mean so much!!!

Our Thank You blend is distinctly different to our Moments to Memories blend, however close enough that if you love one then you'll likely love the other too, fingers crossed our Thank You blend is a real winner for you :)

  • Hi OP, is this light roasted?

    • Hey @csjc nice question, appreciate you reaching out to check!

Our Thank You blend is medium/omni roasted to suit both espresso and filter style brewing methods. I you're super keen for lighter roasted you'll find a few options on our site that mention they're lighter roast in the product descriptions :)

  • I missed out on the deal from last week so this is perfect timing (as always). I want to ensure I'm fully stocked for the Christmas period and inevitable shutdowns so this will slot in nicely. Can't wait to try the new blend, if it's close to MTM then it's gonna be awesome!

    • Hey @Chazzozz music to my ears to know we've nailed the timing again for you, woohoo!!!

Love seeing important planning ahead skills, as you never want to run out of the good stuff :)

Thank you so much for another fantastic order, it's truly appreciated and based on your enjoyment of our Moments to Memories blend I have a hunch our Thank You blend will absolutely knock your socks off!

  • Thanks OP! Going to finally give Lime Blue a try :)

    • WOW, that's terrific news @starspawn thank you so much for placing your first order with us, it's an opportunity we won't take for granted!

  • I don't have a grinder. I only have a plunger so after ground coffee with plunger grind consistency. Not able to order as only beans option available. Really want to try!! :(

    Thanks @LimeBlueCoffee!

3kgs is currently $0.91 short of free shipping :|

Any chance of dropping the free shipping to $59.09 whilst this deal is on? :D

    • +1

You'd assume the pricing was on purpose as the margins are low so 3kg and free shipping isn't worthwhile.

      • Maybe, but no harm in asking.

4kgs is a lot of coffee, and the volume of orders and return customers (of which I am one) may be worth it.

        • +1

Agreed, never hurts to ask when the worst thing that can happen is just a no answer.

          • @kulprit: Spot on @kulprit never hurts to ask and it's always better to check than continue to wonder :)

    • There's no option for 3kg from what I can see. Either you buy 1or 2kg and pay for postage or buy 4kg and get free postage. Either way it's a good deal.

      • +1

        3 = 2 + 1

      • +1

Hey @pufffdragon terrific to hear this deal's a real winner for you!

Removing the the 3kg pre-set quantity is by design for this deal, as we've put every single cost into account relative to the pricing, including packing time. 1, 2 and 4kg orders are all more efficient to pack than a 3kg order. However, the math skills of @h4lcyon are on point, you're about the get around this pre-set removal by adding 1kg and 2kg to your cart or even more efficiently just add 1kg and increase the quantity at the cart to 3 AKA 3x1kg :)

    • +1

Hey @h4lcyon appreciate you taking the time to reach out, never hurts to ask :)

We've been very careful to account for every single cost when pricing this deal, even the cost of order packing time. Dropping the free shipping min spend as per your proposal would pose a much higher risk of this deal making an overall financial loss. So I hope you can appreciate that the free shipping min spend must remain at $69. Looks like you're not too far from qualifying for it. To get over the free shipping line, perhaps you could split an order with a neighbour, friend, family member, or simply free any extra bags until you're ready to use them.

    • Hey @h4lcyon never hurts to ask. If we could have dropped the free shipping threshold for this deal we would have. It needs to stay $69 to make it economically viable. I completely understand 4kg may be a lot for you, perhaps you could pool an order with your neighbours and put the extra in your freezer until you need to to extend the freshness :)

  • Damn this is good. But times are getting tough and I've had to cut back on coffee :(

    • +1

Tough times need more coffee unfortunately.

    • +1

Shucks @Puffmellows I hope thing flip in the other direction for you some time soon. In the meantime if it brings any comfort just remember "this too shall pass." I don't know if that helps at all, but it's one of several things I say to myself during valleys throughout life. An even better one I remind myself of on those days when it seems like there's a domino effect of everything breaking away from an ideal plan, is "tomorrow's a new day!"

Fantastic to know this deal's a winner for you. I'm not sure if you have friends or family that give gifts this time of year, but if you do, perhaps you could send them a link to our Thank You blend, so you can get your hand on our fresh coffee :)

  • +1

    Great deal as always..
Am all set for next two deliveries till the end of Jan with Sao Paulo SO.
In case you can extend the delayed dispatch into Feb (or more), I can order in to try.

    Cheers!

    • Hey @FindMeADeal music to me ears to know this is another winning deal for you!

We're still figuring out our Feb dispatch schedule, so it's not ready to be released just yet. What you could do is place an order now and set dispatch for 30/1/24 to make the most of this deal pricing, then keep an eye on our dispatch calendar in Jan. Once our February dispatch calendar is released you can simply send a reply email to your order confirmation requesting a dispatch date change :)

    • Hey @soggypotato perhaps you could place a combo order to get the best of both world?

Our Thank You Blend and Colombia Santa Elena or El Salvador Usulután Carbonic Maceration Single Origins combo order may be a winning solution for your conundrum :)

  • Ordered a 1KG bag for end of December :)

Do you have a recommended ratio and time for espresso?

    • Hey @aurz fantastic, thank you so much for your order, it's truly appreciated!

Love your planning ahead skills, both on the end of Dec planning and preparing to have our recommended brew rations upon arrival. As is the norm (from your question I assume it's your first order or you haven't looked at our bag labels), every single bag will have our recommended brew/extraction guides printed on them :)

  • Thank you for sharing! Keen beans to give these a try :D

    • You're most welcome @metamorphosised :)

Thank you so giving our Thank You blend a shot by placing an order. I'm very glad you're looking forward to trying it and I hope you absolutely love it!!!

  • Fantastic coffee, looking forward to trying this. Thank you for the consistent deals.

    • +1

Amazing to hear @MrChadley I'm wrapped to know we're in your good books, we'll keep working hard to stay there!

Thank you so much for another terrific order, your continued support really does mean so much :)

  • I still have 1kg bag from Aldi that I'm yet to go through. If I get 1kg bag, how long can I keep it fresh inside the provided bag?

    • +2

I've found Aldi is good for a week but dies notoriously rapidly - despite all manners of preservation.

I've probably had 15 kg from Lime Blue over the years. They definitely last much longer than Aldi.

I just haven't been very impressed by the Moments blend lately. I'm paying about the same price per roasted kg for green beans and despite not experimenting to get the best out of beans, am just finding it worth the effort because of the results.

I feel their popularity has been through marketing (excellent) than product (good). But I do like the company, so I'll give this new blend a go.

      • +2

I've been trying to tell people this for ages about the Aldi beans but I usually get shut down for being a snob.
I have always tried to get the freshest roast but it always pours thin after a week or so.

My favourite coffee at the moment is from Mosey coffee roasters, but I do get them wholesale.
I'm going to try this blend for something different.

        • I've seen Aldi beans with a 15 month best-before expiry - I will rarely get a month out of home roasted beans stored similarly with a one way valve.

So I feel it's all about unopened shelf life, the CO₂ from the beans degassing during the first few days acting as a mould inhibitor. I find vacuum freezing them doesn't extend like it does other beans.

      • Hey @Janko thank you so much for giving our new Thank You blend a shot and all the terrific orders you've placed with us thus far, it truly does mean a lot and is not something we take for granted :)

Fantastic to hear you've been able to appreciate the freshness of our coffee!

Shame to hear our Moments to Memories blend hasn't been a winner for you as there's a lot of people that absolutely love it. That said I fully acknowledge that personal flavour preference is subjective and not everyone is going to love every single coffee we roast. The main thing is that although Moment wasn't the right fit for you, you're still providing us with the opportunity of another shot and for that I am very appreciative.

WOW that's a surprising comment (not in a positive or negative way, just a surprise…and thank you for the compliment), as I pump the vast majority of my time and money into continually improving the quality of our coffee, I'm always kicking myself thinking "I need to do a far better job with marketing." It's just a case of finding enough hours in the day to dedicate the right amount of time on a whole bunch of different areas relating to Lime Blue Coffee. Not a complaint at all, I know it's something I need to improve on and as such I regularly reevaluate how I spend my days. I'm wrapped to know we're still in your good books, I'll make sure we keep working hard to stay there :)

        • +1

The time you take to reply these threads here - e.g. explaining blending pre/post blend etc - is evidence of your excellent marketing. We primarily buy from those we like, hence my 15kg of Moment despite not loving it. I won't touch St. Ali or Sensory Lab despite quite liking their blends, for the same reason.

I sometimes think you intentionally make mistakes on emails so you can send "sorry - made a mistake" emails. But maybe you just admit your mistakes where others ignore them. But heh, it works!

          • @Janko: Very thoughtful of you to say @Janko thank you for the complimentary observations!

haha I don't have enough spare time to be that Machiavellian (nor am I in general). We seldom make mistakes, compared to when things work out as intended. However, we are human, so mistakes do happen. I go by the notion of "you're either part of the problem or part of the solution." As such I find the best way to prevent repeat mistakes is to admit the mistake, pivot straight to the solution, then later reflect on the cause of the issue to prevent a repeat :)

Although I'm grateful and love your continued patronage to Lime Blue Coffee, I'd love it even more if we could work together to get you onto one of our products perfectly suited to your personal flavour preference. When you get a sec could you please answer the below?

            1) On a scale out of 10, Fruit 1 to Chocolate 10, what's your ideal go to coffee flavour notes?
            2) On a scale out of 10, high acidity 1 to low acidity 10, what's your ideal go to coffee acidity level?
            3) Do you enjoy your coffee black, milk based/white or both?

            • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thanks for the followup.

              As a preference:

              1) Around 7-9
              2) Around 6-8
              3) Espresso, milk based but not too diluted - 18g dose for 36-40g in cup, 100-120mL milk.

But by no means limited to - I'm always surprised.

I've been enjoying a Yellow Bourbon Brazilian lately I've been roasting med-dark - not particularly chocolately, more woody, but lots of body, low acidity.

              • @Janko: Hey @Janko love the efficiency of your response as you've halfway done my job for my with the answer!

Very helpful details indeed, thank you. Based on those numbers straight away two options come to mind, one you may expect and the other may potentially surprise you:

                1) Our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin, I believe this ticks your boxes in terms of chocolate notes, lower acidity levels and it's ability to cut through milk very well. Added bonus is this one has an outstandingly balanced level of sweetness to it
                2) Our Swiss Water Process Decaf, this may sounds like a curve ball as it's Decaf, but I believe it'll tick your boxes as much if not more than our Brazil. Our Decaf had stronger chocolate notes and slightly lower acidity than our Brazil. Also it cuts through milk like a samurai sword cuts through a mango (perhaps some slight exaggeration on my analogy)

How we can find a real winner for you :)

                • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thanks - I'll try both of those next order. Decaf not a curve ball - the last few swiss water beans I've had I couldn't even tell were decaf.

                  • @Janko: Perfect @Janko sounds like a plan!

Please feel welcome to reach out via email with any dialing in questions if you have any :)

      • Can I ask what roast date you are buying the aldi beans at? The dates are reversed I.e. YYMMDD

I found aldi beans are typically at least 4 weeks old everytime I check the shelves and will rarely get anything within 2 weeks of roast date. This is very different from specialty roasters like here which ship within 2 days of roasting + another 2 days to deliver. I'm trying to understand if this comparison is fairly based on bean roast age.

It's a large reason why I buy from specialty roasters over aldi. I'd rather get 500g of fresh beans VS 1kg of stale 4+ week old beans but if you can get within 2 weeks, you're pretty lucky.

        • I think it's definitely due to age, and likewise, I only ever see 4+ weeks post roast. But that's a fair test, because we can't practically get them fresher.

The 'best before' date isn't wrong as 4 weeks post roast is indeed before 15 months. 5 weeks post roast is just not as 'best'. I think the 15 month thing is just about bacteria/mould rather than bean taste.

        • Was in Aldi tonight - some full boxes on the shelves were 3 months post roast, most typically about 4-5 weeks. Managed to find a 3 week old Medium though.

    • +1

Hey @Blackcat2 great question, appreciate you taking the time to reach out to check!

We strive to dispatch all order nice and fresh within 48 business hours of roasting. From an optimal flavour enjoyment perspective it's best to consume roasted coffee stored at ambient room temperatures within roughly a month of the roast date. However, if your don't think you'll get through 1kg in a month, then all you'll need to do is fill up your bean hopper with whatever quantity you think you'll get through in about a month, seal the bag with the rest of the coffee and put the bag straight in your freezer. Freezing coffee extends the freshness by months (even years, but the ideal initial storage process is a bit more detailed for storage more than a year) due to rapidly slowing the oxidation process :)

      • Thank you for the response :)

        • Sure thing @Blackcat2 :)

  • +1

n00b question @LimeBlueCoffee - how are your blends made, do you custom blend from different kinds of beans that you sell, or do you purchase them already blended?

    • Hey @moocher appreciate the reach out, never hurts to ask!

Great question as there are two schools of thought similar to what you're saying. You can either blend the green and then roast it or roast individual components and then blend them post-roast. The system we use is to first roast each component individually and then to blend them together post-roasting. We use this system to get the best out of each component, while still acknowledging although individual components they need to work well together as a team (blend) from not just a flavour perspective, but also technical extraction perspective. Due to variations of bean structure across different coffees, blending components prior to roasting can potentially lead to inconsistent roasted results, thus potentially negatively impacting flavour and making consistently good extraction a challenge. Our blends can consist of coffee also available on our site for purchase as Single Origins, as well as components only available to be experience within the blend itself. I hope my answer has been informative enough/helpful, please feel welcome to shout out with any more questions you have :)

      • Thank you, that does sound like the best way to do it so that you can give each type of bean the attention that they require. It also sounds like a bit of extra work for you though!

        • +1

Morning @moocher now I think about it is it… interesting that in every other aspect of dispatching orders time is a notable part of the decision equation, however, with regard to creating blends time didn't form part of the equation. I decided on the system purely based on what I believe would result in the best product outcome, with no consideration of the time difference between the two options. Even considering the bit of extra time, I believe the quality output is more important and so the decision would be the same, I'm still quite surprised when I made the decision a number of years ago that I didn't even factor in the time difference!

Anyway I'll stop my novel now. I'm very happy our system resonates with you and thank you again for taking the time to ask :)

  • Do you only sell beans? I am after Stovetop grind - can you supply this?

    • Hey @gud2cu appreciate you reaching out to check!

We do offer pre-ground options on most of our coffees, it's just not available for this specific deal. If you have a look on our product pages and click on each "size" menu you'll see which product have pre-ground options :)

  • Great deal, 5kg ordered!
This will make great Christmas pressies for my coffee loving friends (and myself)

    • WOW WOW WOW what a wonderful order to gift to yourself and those you care about @depecid thank you immensely, you've sure brought a smile to this side of the screen :)

  • Why are all the recipes on the bags the same 1:1 and not 1:2 ?

    • +1

      Hey @MrBillions great question!

To start that's not the recipe for all of our products, just the ones you've purchased from us thus far. The "Milk Based Guide 1:1" is our recommendation for white/milk based coffees such as a flat white, essentially it's a double ristretto recipe and is recommended for coffees that contain 150-200ml of 63 degree c textured milk. If you enjoy a larger coffee AKA a mug of coffee or a smaller coffee (piccolo) then I'd recommend aiming for our "Black Espresso Guide 1:2"

Hope that clarifies things for you :)

      • Thats what I aim for.. 1:2 and I am a 'mug' drinker. Works a treat.

        • Nice @FindMeADeal great to hear one of our brew guides suits you perfectly!

  • Great deal op! Just ordered.

    • Fantastic, thank you so much @jason2615 your order really is appreciated :)

  • I've been bouncing around different coffee roasters and LB was on my list to try next. I've already got a bag from another brand in my freezer but it will be used soon.

I do like that you can request advanced delivery dates. Hope to try it sometime in Jan this blend (selected delivery date).

Thanks for the Black Friday deal!
I know it couldn't have been easy considering how small your margins might be on this. Hope to buy more later.

Can I ask what country of origin the beans are from?

    • Hey @xecutor love to hear you've already discovered the magic of freezing coffee and it's wonderful to know we've made it to the top of your "need to try" list, woohoo!!!

Very happy to hear this deal and our unique advanced scheduling dispatch are both winners for you. When we launch a blend, if our customers love it, the plan is to keep it available for the long-term. As such, with our blends we focus our messaging on the overall flavour rather than specific origins as specific blend components may change over time due to seasonality/availability, whereas the flavour is something that we can be maintained on an ongoing basis. In terms of our Single Origins they're generally only available for the short to medium term due to availability, thus we regularly rotate our available Single Origins. As such the messaging for our Single Origins revolves around both the origin and flavours.

You're most welcome for the deal. We did have to crunch the numbers more carefully than any other deal we've ever done, but it was a worthy educated financial risk if it gets us in customers (returning and new) good books. Thank you so much for placing your first order with us, it truly means so much and is an opportunity we won't take for granted. Fingers crossed you absolutely love our fresh coffee and it makes you want to come back for more :)

  • Hi Tom, I have sent couple emails to you in the last 2 days via reply to the order confirmation email regarding change the dispatch date. But haven't received any reply. I ordered in early November and selected early January as the dispatch date. Is possible to change the dispatch date?
    Thank you

    • +1

Hey @BGOnly appreciate the check in!

I replied yesterday's email earlier today…we certainly can change the date for you, I just need to know what date you'd like it changed to? Once you've replied to my email you should be all set :)

      • Thanks for your help Tom.

        • :)

  • I've never heard of Lime Blue but from all the positive comments and this great deal I'm definitely giving it a go! Looking forward to trying it out. :)

    • Hey @Fuzzy Toaster terrific to hear the positive comments (thank you so much everyone) has pointed you in our direction!

Thank you so much for placing your first terrific order with us, it's really does mean a great deal and is an opportunity we won't take for granted :)

Wrapped to know you're looking forward trying us out, fingers crossed you love our fresh coffee!

  • Can we do fast shipping? Im running super low on beans.

    • Hey @MurahMeriahOy appreciate you taking the time to reach out!

We do offer Express shipping as an option. However, if you're requesting ASAP dispatch, which I believe you are, then as per the info in the deal description (I know it's a mini novel) due to my lack of confidence in the delivery companies not to have big delivery delays over the next week and a bit, this is one of the rare instances we aren't offering ASAP dispatch. Currently the earliest dispatch available is 11/12/23 based on last year that's roughly when the delivery company's got back on track. We're keeping a close eye on things, so if the delivery companies get back on track earlier than expected then we'll open up ASAP dispatch :)

  • Damn - I have a Jan order pre book from you already Tom. Was going to buy this one as well but don't have a grinder so need them ground! Next time :(

    • Shucks @ham0718 what a double whammy!!!

Fingers crossed the timing works out perfectly for you on our next deal and either pre-ground is available or you've taken the plunger to get a grinder (it should improve your flavour enjoyment tenfold). Thank you sincerely for your orders with us thus far and your continued support, it really does mean so much :)

  • Ah bummer, I've got 3kg of coffee at home right now with another 3kg on delayed shipping next month! My freezers also full 🙃 A Christmas present perhaps?

    • WOW @Ricktheroller you sure know how to ensure you don't run out of the all important good stuff, probs on your stocking up and planning ahead skills :)

A Christmas present of fresh coffee sounds like the perfect was to get in someone's good books!

p.s. if you gift it to the right person they may even make you a Thank You blend cup of coffee and give you an extra serving of Christmas pudding too :)

  • Oof just paid 30 for the other deal

    • Hey @nuttapillar thank you so much for your recent order with us, it's truly appreciated!

Perhaps you could still make the most of this deal while still ensuring your enjoy our coffee nice and fresh by either making the most of our unique scheduled/delayed dispatch option for this deal or you could put any extra coffee you have in your freezer to extend the freshness until you're ready to use it :)

      • Sorry for the confusion, the other deal was from a different company. I haven't ordered from you yet.

    Hi Tom,

Any chance you could reduce the free shipping limit to $68? To accommodate 3kg of order.

    • Hey @spc12go appreciate to taking the time to reach out, never hurts to ask!

All the costings were very carefully considered for this deal, more so than any other deal we've launch. As such, if it was economically viable to drop the free shipping threshold we would have. Fingers crossed this deal is still enticing enough for you to place an order and get some fresh coffee :)

Hi Tom, please compare to Sao Paulo…

Hey @Hc123 nice question, appreciate you asking!

The chocolate notes in our Thank You blend, will be at a similar level to our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin. The most notable difference between the two is that our Thank You blend is sweeter, has more fruity notes which are paired quite well with the chocolate notes and it also has a higher acidity kick than our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin.

Although the flavour differences between the two are notably different, they are familiar enough to each other that if you enjoy our Brazil São Paulo Single Origin then I'd be quite surprised if you didn't also thoroughly enjoy our Thank You blend :)

      • Thanks

        • :)

  • Hi Tom, thanks for the deal! Ordered 4kg for myself and visiting parents. Would this be good for cold brew by the way? Cheers!
