Looks like The Good Guys will "Price Beat" on the Duet 5 4GB model down to $212, not sure who they are price beating but nearly 80% off RRP. Was looking at the 8GB model but this is too good of a deal to pass up. Not sure how long this will last.

Pair with Commbank Yello $30 off $200 to get it down to $182.

    Anyone with it, comment on speed? As mentioned, I have had a 4GB Duet before and the performance wasn't great. For $212 I am sure it will be ok. The full price at JB, you would be super disappointed for sure.

      I've had mine for a couple days now, booking a holiday at the moment with multiple tabs open, sharing the screen to the TV, a little noticeable slowness but still very usable. I'm very happy for $182 ($30 rebate from Commbank).

          You just "Activate" the deal in the app and then make the purchase with your Commbank Card, a week or so later they deposit the rebate back into your account. I haven't gotten it for the Good Guys yet but I've done it before.

          Yes I watched a few videos around the 8GB model, seems to be one of the highest rated Chromebooks. And I haven't done that much testing sorry, don't think the display will go up to 4K though.

            @WilhelmBargo: Yes, it was delivered on the same day I posted the comment, the 15th Dec, a good 10 days earlier than their estimation. I disabled Android app support to free up RAM and it performed very decently as a browsing + Netflix device. Keyboard cover, build quality and battery life are top notch.
            Problems so far: connecting to external monitor through my Thunderbolt hub doesn't work, streaming Android app from my Galaxy phone doesn't work.
            I wish it had 8GB RAM so that it could run Android apps comfortably, but it costs me only $182 delivered (not yet counting the $20 store credit, and free Minecraft valued at $30), so I'm still happy.

                @montorola: I didn't.
                But without Android subsystem running, with an adblocker extension installed, and a few tabs open, it feels snappy and memory is abundant (2GB free in total 4GB). I think it can easily handle 10+ tabs, unless those websites are poorly optimized.
                An amazing piece of computing for the price.

      Yes, I fully refunded and still have the $20 credit. It's not worth the wait for me, especially with the comments in this thread about the limitations of 4GB RAM.
