Apple MacBook Air 15-Inch M2 (2023) 256GB $1797 + Bonus 10% Back as eGift Cards + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ Domayne

161

Domayne has the same sale price as Harvey Norman and Amazon, but offer a 10% E-Gift Card. Domayne is not located near me, so I price matched with my local Harvey Norman. Note that gift card expires in 30 days. Same deal applies for other variants of MacBook Air, all sale priced.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2023

  • Does anyone know if RAM kills the deal or maybe: no 16 gb no deal?

    • +1

Depends what you're doing. I would probably be stretching for a 14" MBP.

Personally, i'm a bit disappointed with the spec/pricing for the 15" MBA. Apple's pricing strategy is particularly annoying, IMO.

    • 8gb is barely enough for netbook usage, so i guess if your entire usage is safari it’ll be fine. 256gb soldered is the thing kills the deal for me

  • +2

Did Harvey give you a gift card or they reduced the price of the product by 10%?

    • 10% gift card, not a reduction in sale price.

  • +1

You can get 6% discounted Harvey Gift card. Check here

Use them to buy your product and get 10% Gc back

    Edu store?

Seems like a good deal, but not sure what I'll do with a Domayne Gift card that expires in 30 days!

  • +1

Not a bargain, absolutely garbage deal lol.

Cannot believe how much Apple fans defend 8GB ram for this price.

    • +2

They're throwing in a pretty good laptop to those 8 gigs for this price.

      • +3

Except it isn't really. You can get a 16GB Laptop with an OLED panel for less than $1k now.
Absolutely ludicrous to spend this much money on an 8GB laptop. God awful deal.

        • +3

You’ve obviously not been drinking the Apple-aid.

        • Yup, if you don't need Apple's gear/OS and are dying for an OLED, your undisclosed 16GB laptop sounds excellent.

          • -2

@pizzaguy: Nope, it's an objectively better investment. Not my problem if you're too blind to understand this.

            • @Riceplate: Oh, I thought we were having a valuable convo here, but you're clearly hating everything-apple and are just oblivious to the fact that some people have to own apple hardware because they don't just play games, but also work in macOS environment.

So, where's that "You can get a 16GB Laptop with an OLED panel for less than $1k now."? Humble me here by showing your best deal.

And speaking of investments - that's the most laughable argument, given how Apple products hold the price when no other electronics do :D

              • @pizzaguy: Acer Swift Go at Officeworks. Also has a Ryzen CPU with great energy efficienty and an iGPU that absolutely destroys Apple's.

Now you can sook all you want, but at the end of the day you have no arguments, no case nothing. Macbooks are terrible value and $1800 for an 8GB ram laptop is embarrassing. I cannot believe you Apple fans try to preach this as a "good deal".

                • +3

@Riceplate: Oh yes, good old plasticky Acer to destroy Apple's. Enjoy your OLED Windows there.

Now I'm back to work on the MBP provided by my corporate environment that, apparently, made terrible investment by providing hundreds of people Macbooks instead of Acers. Oh my, if only the admins and budgeting had known what Riceplate has.

                  • -4

@pizzaguy: It has an aluminium chassis actually.

Nobody cares about your sooking and bitchy attitude bro. Not sure why you apple fans are so insecure and whiney. It's a bad value product, simple as that, swallow your pride and move on.

                    • @Riceplate: You: "your bitchy attitude"

Also you: "absolutely garbage deal lol" "apple fans", your "objectively better investment"

You so don't see you are the definiton of bitchy :D You'll see once you work and earn money. Even funnier seeing this comment of yours.

Enjoy whatever you usually are on that Acer.

                      • -3

@pizzaguy: I'm laughing about people like you attempting to label this a good deal.
You're having a pretty embarrassing bitchfest in response.

Relax bro. It's not my fault you don't understand the basic concept of value for money.

                    • @Riceplate: Aluminum?

  • T&Cs say that the gift card expires 36 months after date of issue? Where did you see 30 days?

    • You might be correct re the Domayne gift card. The 30 day expiry is on the Harvey Norman match.

  • 256gb is reduced speed. 8gb is not enough.
Following apple marketing, you need to spend at least $600 extra for a quality future proof product

Interesting that JB agreed to price match a gift-card-back offer from Harvey.

    • Really? Was that in-store or over chat/phone? Thanks.

      Edit:
online chat sales rep said No

      • Sorry, I meant OP price matched with Harvey. (Not JB)

  • Wouldn't the Apple deal be better, where you get $320 in gift card for purchasing an Apple Macbook Air 15" M2 chip?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/812358

    • +1

      How?

Apple MacBook Air 15-Inch M2 (2023) 256GB is $2,199.00-$320=$1,879 which is more expensive than $1797 from my maths.

Also it's not like the $320 stay in your pocket. You have to spend it.

      • +1

Ah, Apple pricing has gone back to regular (and the $320 gift card does not apply to EDU pricing) - you are right

  • +2

My MBA that I brought in 2012 is still working fine.

My MBP that I brought in 2013 is still working fine.

My dell laptop don’t last > 3 years which is why all my laptop is Apple.

  • Will jbhifi pricematch this deal of 10%as gift card or lower price

  • +1

I love Apple’s build quality and performance but the OS is just no good to me. The Microsoft Surface Studio laptop is a fantastic windows alternative but Microsoft’s pricing is as ridiculous as Apple’s…..perhaps more so.
