Howdy-ho-ho folks, back with a cutla christmas crackers! Numbers are limited per build, with the stock on hand and build capacity to produce in time for pre-Christmas delivery. Cut-off is the 18th from here in SA to eastern states, 14th for WA and 15th for NT via regular post, so you would need to order a at least a couple of days before this to give us enough time to prioritise and dispatch. If you choose Express Post, the last dispatch day for us is the 20th (WA/NT) and 21st (eastern) - again a couple of days lead time required.

Update on existing Black Friday orders - if you haven't received dispatch notification on your build yet, stand by early to mid next week as our decks will be cleared and all outstanding orders dispatched. Thank you for your patience.

So are you negging because this is a good deal?

    • +17

PNY only just confirmed the availability of more allocation, which we weren't expecting and nabbed as soon as we were offered it. Sorry we couldn't offer it to you at the time!

    • +13

You didn’t hodl mate. It’s no one’s fault but your own :(

  • +2

Great deals Luke. Any more RTX 4090 deals like the one during black Friday?

    • +3

Sadly not, hardest card going around to get

      • +2

oh anyone can get them out there if they really want to spend

    • How much was the 4090 build?

      • +3

        $4k

Considering the card made up 3/4 of that on a good day it was honestly a steal.

        • That's pretty good for a full 4090 system

  • Good deal, but the delivery might take ages.

    • +3

Well it's Xmas so kinda expected.

    any pcs under $1000 please

      any pcs under $100 please

      Boxing Day yep

  • Hello Luke, I placed a 4080 order during Black Friday and haven’t received dispatch notification yet, in your post do you mean early or mid next week ? Thx I think you missed a word

    • +1

      Sorry yep, meant deca…week.

      Updated above.

    Hi Luke .
The motherboard for GAMING PC: AMD RYZEN 7 7800X3D | RTX 4080 16GB GAMING DESKTOP - XMAS
Shows non-wifi on the webpage. Can you clarify which mother will be installed?

    • We only have the Gaming WiFi on hand so yep it’s guaranteed. Just using a non specific options set on the listing. Same for the other parts listed out above.

  • Just a basic question.
Can we play Call of Duty on these PCs? like these ones:

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020)
    Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021)
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (2022)

First PC at 1440P into 4K, high frames, second one sweet spot at 1440P

  • Hey got a dumb question, why Linux mint is the chosen free OS, is there any particular thoughts

    • if it wasn't mint it would be ubuntu. I think with latest gen parts, you really need a flavour with a new kernel at least.

    • +1

Probably because it's Desktop Environment (Cinnamon) is familiar to Windows, which is what most customers will install anyway.

    • +1

Cool, thx pasting the link if anyone would like to know more about Cinnamon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cinnamon_(desktop_environment)?wprov=sfti1#

    • +1

Mint has some non opensource drivers and codecs installed by default, Obuntu requires you to do an extra process.
So out of the box Mint is friendlier and also feels more familiar.

Either way it is really just there so you can source your own Windows through other means.

    • So looks like we are choosing the best Windows loader, lol

  • +3

Just wondering will there be any intel deals? Should have jumped on that i9 deal last month but missed out. Guess I will wait till boxing day.

    • +8

Why do you need an Intel CPU though? The 7800X3D is cheaper, outperforms the i9-13900K in gaming and uses less power/generates less heat.

Most people who say they'd prefer an Intel CPU actually wouldn't see any tangible benefits from one over the 7800X3D.

      • Same reasons they are wanting the NVIDIA machine not AMD

        • +6

Not entirely. Nvidia are still in the lead easily for GPU hardware. Can't say the same for Intel

        • -1

But the difference is nvidia is actually better than AMD.

      • I lean towards Intel because my current PC is a i7-3770k that has been overclocked (poorly by me), run hot and generally not treated kindly for 12 years and is still running. It's a bit long in the tooth now mind you, and I added ssd's and a 2080 a while ago.

I don't 'feel' like AMD has that kind of ruggedness. shrug It's a bias for sure, but it makes it hard to switch to AMD.

      • Is the 7800X3D any good for rendering?

  • +1

Also in the drop down for graphics card on the ryzen 5 5600 build it says 4070ti in the description. Assume this is wrong

    • Its a 4070 yep, description amended thanks

  • +2

    Santa, Is that you?

  • +5

Currently sitting with an ancient 2600K paired with a GTX1080. Have a budget of $2000 - rare 2k gaming with a 75hz screen/workstation. What would you recommend?

    • +3

I'd recommend buying the second option and using your leftover money to buy a 144hz or above monitor. This system will handle both 2K and 144Hz swimmingly, and you can get something decent for ~$300-400 in 27" size.

    • +2

Currently sitting with an ancient 2600K paired with a GTX1080.

      Sandy Bridge master race.

I've still got a spare, OC'ed 2600K myself that can actually run a lot of games pretty damn well @ 1920x1080 with an old RX 580 8GB.

Never again will we see a generation of CPUs with the longevity of Sandy Bridge. It also reminds me of how stagnant Intel's R&D has been for the last I don't know how many years.

      • +1

Couldn't agree more. It's what….10 generations old by this point? Still runs like a champ in my work station, but definitely starting to feel ancient in gaming. Does that second option seem decent given what I'm used it?

    • +1

      Nice, 3770k with a 2080 here :) Runs Diablo 4 on almost max settings…

It is time for an upgrade though.

    • Intel learned their lesson with the 2600k and have never given us such a workhorse, long in the tooth chip since.

  • I’m expecting that I’ll need to upgrade to around 64GB+ RAM in the not too distant future, but I’ve heard that AMD platforms can be a wee bit finicky with DDR5 beyond that amount. Would these motherboards and/or RAM hold up if I was to upgrade down the track?

  • Do you guys get many rmas for those gigabyte 650s? I hear they have some coil whine

    • +1

The first gen of Aorus B650 boards had some noisy DIMMs but we haven’t experienced it since they resolved.

  • +1

Had a bad experience with techfast last time. computer came all damaged inside. got send a replacement but asked for different brand gpu but ended up getting same gpu. Next time I get another pc, going to start looking for local shop instead.

    • A pre-built computer right? That can happen to anyone, happened to Dells at work back in the day.
As for the GPU brand, you get what you pay for, these systems are cheap af.

  • The x670 motherboard upgrade is not in the list, would you be able to list it?

Likewise, would you be able to confirm if the win11 pro upgrade is $69 (cheaper than home)?

    • X670 upgrade added. Pro is $229.

  • +5

Heads up Luke, the description for the b650 gaming wifi says it has 2 m.2 slots, it actually only has one. Pretty important to consider since effectively no future potential for storage unless you replace and clone the original nvme ssd. Would prob need to go min 2TB ssd for this mobo.

    • +1

      Fixing, thank you.

    • It's got 4 SATA ports, there's plenty of storage potential there. 4TB SATA SSDs have been as low as $200 recently 👍

      • Ooof sata speeds though haha

        • Doesn't matter for gaming or bulk storage 🤷🏼‍♂️

  • +2

hodl for this price but with 4080 super

    • +2

Is that realistic within 2 months of that being released ?

  • hi Luke, just a question. Can you send me un-activated windows on my pc if i request for it. Thats how i bought it last year, now my partner wants a new pc too. Thought id ask here…?

    • Unfortunately not. Not permitted by MS.

    • +1

it's so ez to do it yourself, if you are happy with the deal don't let that dissuade you

  • hi luke, it does not give me the option to upgrade the motherboard to X670?

    • Updated, thanks.

  • Can the case be changed?
Does anyone know much about the PSU brand? I've never heard of it!
    Thanks!

    • +1

Just went for it. Can upgrade the case myself later on. Thanks!

  • Newbie question, The cheaper deal in this post says it has a Gigabyte B550M K motherboard, but when you click the link it says it has a AMD B550 motherboard, are they the same ?

Also how can I tell what ports are on the front and back of this computer ?

Also why no Paypal option, only cc ?

    thanks

    • Motherboard set updated. The ports are viewable on the websites of the Antec P20C case and Giga motherboard. Deals via Ozb are super lean and payment option providers’ fees make them unviable for us unfortunately, many of them don’t allow surcharges and surcharges aren’t a crowd pleaser at the best of times, so we only accept CC.

  • +1

Out of stock? Can’t add to cart anynore

    • Fixed, thanks guys

  • can we cahnge up teh case - syas out of stock - would be keen on the 4080 deal

    • Fixed - thanks

  • Hey Luke, any chance that we can upgrade the case?

    • +2

Not this year - we are working on offering more but won't be this year.

  • Does the second option come with stock AMD cooler? Or some aftermarket air cooler?

  • 16GB 5200MHz DDR5 RAM (Kingston Fury currently on hand)

    EXPO?

  • +1

Is there going to be Christmas/Boxing day sales at all because I noticed that the black Friday deals are running out. If there is, will it be the same deals as the current or worse/better.

  • +2

Hi, interested in the second option, but when clicking on the link, it brings up the case as Antec NX200M instead of the MSI case ($79 extra if this case is selected).

    • Yep, same problem, would like to order but need this fixed

  • +1

What's with Linux OS being installed over Windows?

    • +2

If you don't pay for a licence they can't activate windows. They're not allowed to ship systems with unactivated Windows installed. Legal nono with MS.

  • If I change the RAM to 64GB for the 4080 option is that going to be a good option for Lumion rendering?

  • Hey @luketechfast
Could you check why the second option now requires $79 extra for MSI MAG case?
Also, if it comes with stock AMD cooler, will it be possible to choose a different air cooler?

  • Hi @luketechfast,

Is it possible to swap out the CPU for the blackfriday deal?

I really wanted to get the 7800X3D however the deal was sold out quick. Because of this I bought the Ryzen 7 7700 deal and upgraded it to Ryzen 9 7900.

The PC is currently being build with you guys so was thinking whether you can do the CPU swap to 7800X3D?

  • +1

    Hi @luketechfast,

I went to order the $2700 one and it says sold out. Will there be more coming available?

  • +1

Don’t order. Unlikely that you’ll get it in time for Christmas. It’s been more than 3 weeks since I ordered my build from the last deal and haven’t heard anything… the page when I ordered said it would be dispatched in 5-10 business days…

    • Yeah, and seems like Luke stopped responding in this post..

    • If people are ordering this close to Christmas, delays are to be expected. I'm assuming you mean the post including the i9-4080 build and the i7-4080 build? I can confirm I received my order on the 1st of December, know of someone else who had their order shipped (not sure if received yet but I'm assuming so) and someone else who had received communications from techfast. Combine that with this deal posted following the ones I already mentioned, tf probably have quite a backlog.

Not jumping in to blindly defend the company here but you can't expect big OEM turnaround times with systems ready to ship immediately upon payment with companies like techfast and others who are posting here on ozb.

      • +1

I am merely being factual. Don’t order this if you expect to get this by Christmas. The shipping estimates that they put on their website and on this deal post are clearly not accurate for all of their orders.

Why advertise yet another build with unrealistic dispatch times when you still haven’t cleared what seems to be an extensive backlog?

They are very quick to say that the build will ship ‘early next week’ but it’s been two weeks of that now and am yet to hear any further update. It would be nice to get some reasonable and accurate estimates for dispatch times.

      • Do you mind if I ask how long you waited from the time you placed the order to when you received it?

        • The 10 business days. To be fair I'm also local and picked up, could have expected a further 2-3 days if I'd have the system shipped.

edit: also had email communication with their sales address, first time took ~3 business days to reply, next was same day, then third was next day

  • Hey Luke, I ordered last Saturday and it still hasn’t been shipped. At the time I ordered, the shipping estimate was 1-3 business days and has since changed to 5-10 business days. Any idea when I can expect to have this shipped?

    • Have you heard anything Braddie?

      • Haven’t heard anything unfortunately, incredibly disappointing.

    • Have you heard anything Braddie?

      • Still nothing, have contacted them through their website too and no response there either….

  • I'm glad I decided not to gamble with TechFast this close to Christmas and build a pc myself. Ordered all parts on Wednesday from ebay and Centrecom, received everything on Friday afternoon!
