Nothing involving the expansion cards will be a bargain, that's for sure

It's utter lunacy that they want $300 for a 1TB expansion card. That's a major thing Sony did better.

    • But on the flip side, Sony prices digital games on their store 30% higher higher than RRP.

      • +1

It's the other way around. Physical games are 30% cheaper than RRP.

        • True but we all know what @Doogan meant

        • Yea that’s what I meant, but you got the point. Cheers.

      • I mean regardless of digital or physical, games nowadays all required direct installation plus updates onto SSD anyway.

Yeach Microsoft making things like the SSD and Headsets sit behind proprietry architecture is infuriating. Why the console in third place would think this is a good move is beyond me.

      • because it's Microsoft and it's meant to infuriate

        • MS has, in general, been good stewards of things like Github and Minecraft, but this system is nuts. Which is weird, again, as Phil Spencer has overall been pretty good since he got to the XBOX division.

        And controller.

You can buy it on Amazon for $223 right now so jb not really much of a deal

    • -3

The $223 one from Amazon is not Australian stock but a grey import from Germany. That's likely why it's cheaper. But also takes multitudes longer to be delivered because it's not Australian stock.

  • +2

Buy from Amazon and save yourself the price of a console ;).

I suppose the saving is worth waiting weeks for a grey import to arrive from Germany. This time of the year international freight is shockingly slow so expect ages before it arrives.

      • +3

Says delivery by December 30th, I've rarely ever had Amazons expected date be wrong myself, and if it is it's a day or 2 at most. Really not that big a deal. Grey import is irrelevant too, as it is covered by Amazon Au.

    • Haha just about to post this, also cheaper than JB after discounts.

Should never assume WD in the play would change things.
