Leaptel just got a big upgrade to its online portal as well, no more crummy web portal!

What can i get for $50 per month?

    • 25/10 $44.95/m for 6 months.

  • Ugh. This makes me so sad. I'm stuck on hfc and really want the upload speed! I'm inside the enterprise ethernet footprint but the prices are astronomical for similar speeds as this deal.

250/100 is supposed to be available for HFC in May 2024.

      • Hope my exchange is on the list! Will be jumping on it if it is.

      • I’m on 1000/50 and requested the plan change to 500/200. Only just saw this comment about HFC (which I’m on).. so this won’t go through?

        • 500/200 won't go through for HFC. The current HFC limit is 1000/50.

  • Hmm - tempted to make the switch. Currently on ABB (100/40) on FTTC but looking to upgrade. For a 1000/50 plan ABB is ~$119 per month vs $99 per month for Leaptel.

Anyone got experience with the fibre upgrade? Does it matter what provider you go with (since the works going to be done by NBN) or does that not matter. Leaptel worth the $240/ year savings?

    • I've had a family member and my partners work colleague do a FTTN to FTTP upgrade via Leaptel and both were very happy with the process.

I did it with Superloop recently and had no problems either. TBH I don't think the ISP has to do much, they just put the request in with NBNco.

I just did this. Sick of ABB numerous downtime at midnight or after hours but then you would need to reset the entire system so it would work again. For a month I was paying $99 but getting 50/20 on a 100/20 plan. Definitely do the upgrade to Fttp. So for the same $99 I’m now on fttp with a 1000/50 plan. But I saw on instagram leaptel are running specific ads for $89 not the $99 on their website

      • That sucks you've had such a bad experience with aussie. Would definitely be location based. I've been with them for 5 years and connection has been perfect. Think i've only had ~3 outages in 5 years and they were fixed after a few hours. They would have down time when doing network maintenance maybe once every 6 months and generally kept to 1am-6am.

        • You don't need to fight ABBs fights for them, I've also had a bad experience with them and their pricing is a bit much and only recently gotten better with pricing but still costs more than most.

    • Your provider does not really matter with the upgrade. the RSP arranges the Fibre Upgrade with NBN and they will inform you of dates. Leaptel is Great. Customer service and Service has been great with them. Definitely worth the savings and their Victorian based Support team is very nice.

  • Not sure if it's just for me but I don't see those plans on that page - https://leaptel.com.au/nbn-plans/
    I see the usual 25/10, 50/20, 100/20, 250/25, 1000/50

    • Select 250/25 or 1000/50 and select upload boost.

        Thanks! What about the 500/200?

        • Phone Leaptel or login to their web portal.

Due to website limitations, the 500Mbps/200Mbps isn't displayed. If you're a new customer you'll need to order an alternative speed (eg. 250Mbps/100Mbps) and then lodge an upgrade through our new portal. Existing customers you can also utilise the new portal to do the same.

  • Just as I was about to consider moving to Future Broadband 500/200….going to see as an existing Leaptel customer if I can move to 500/200 at $150/m.

    • Yeah you can.

Existing customers on these speed tiers have received emails today advising them we're moving them to the new pricing from their next bill (and resetting their promo period for a new 12 months) unless they let us know they'd rather stay on more expensive pricing…

      • I'm not on those speed tiers, so not sure if the promo period would restart if I change to one of those tiers.

  • These guys are really good. Melbourne based and always a quick response if you need to contact anyone.

  • I just moved to Leaptel the other day on the 1000/40, but tempted to jump to 250/100 for $20 more as having that upload seems very appealing! or maybe 500/200 is worth it.. Can I just switch across to this plan?

  • Switched to leaptel 3 weeks ago. Not good experience so far. Outages up to 8 hours. Happened a few times already.
There is a outage rightnow , 3+ hours and continuing. Melbourne North. Seriously considering moving away
