[Price Error] ASUS TUF Gaming A15 15.6" Laptop: AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS, RTX 4060 16GB DDR5 RAM, 512GB SSD $1199 Delivered @ Scorptec

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Killer deal spotted by user scoyzt. The downside of this laptop is high delay ms screen and brightness is not good enough (Jarrod said Aus market get worse panel than the US market). This laptop has Advanced Optimus + Mux. I would said this is the best 4060 laptop deal i have ever seen.

Note: Stock at supplier with no estimate time of dispatch from Scorptec. From Scorptec: Items marked as At Supplier mean we do not currently have stock immediately available, but we should be able to get stock within 2-5 business days of ordering. Then the regular delivery time will apply.

Mod: Orders are being cancelled due to price error.

possibility that they put the wrong price on there. a few others are selling for $1999 save $700

    wireless1 $1999
    Computer Alliance $1999
    JW $1999

When all these guys have a sale of Asus / Msi laptops they generally all have the same price/discount as they get special deals from MSI/ASUS etc

if you look at another Asus Tuf Laptop
    FX507VV4-LP080W

    Scorptec $1899
    Wireless1 $1899
    Computer Alliance $1899
    JW $1899

    • You might be right, price error where I should be $1999 not $1199

  • What a bargain. Would've bought this instantly if I hadn't bought the Nitro from Officeworks months ago!

  • Laptop Deal of the Year so far? (with a couple more days left till 2024 xD)

  • As a Kiwi surely there's some way to snag this insane deal

  • Anyone recommend a good reasonable price cooler for this? Don't have aircond at home and don't want it to fry.

    • It will be fine even without😁😁

  • I bought one as well as i was looking at one good gaming laptop and ASUS TUF was quite expensive and not less than 1500$. Do they give any extra warranty if we pay more like HN or Binglee?

    • Extra official warranty is purchasable via MyAsus once you activated the machine with your Asus account.

Last time I paid for my zephyrus duo, it is a '1 Year International Warranty Extension (for Standard 2 Year Warranty Model)', on a NZ sku that cost me 169 NZD.

    • Idk if u need extra warranty considering we’re covered by the ACCC in which devices are protected to last a reasonable period and jb hifi recently is under investigation for selling “useless” extra warranty

  • Purchased one. Hopefully they honor it and with no delays!

    • You did notice the whole "awaiting stock delivery" status right? Best case scenario, it takes a couple days for them to get stock and given it'll be XMas, you'll get the item after XMas. More likely scenario is that it'll take a while for them to get stock or they'll cancel orders.

      • If they cancel the orders later, we gonna miss other offers too! :-(

  • F it, buy now think later, I will use it I'm sure. Thanks Ops

  • Dont need a laptop but…If the upvote more than 300 and still available

  • -1

Is this the same laptop but with 1TB? The price for 1TB is only $1299 at Microcenter. https://www.microcenter.com/product/663009/asus-tuf-gaming-a…

    • +3

      I think it's USD.

      • Oh, I see. Thanks for that! I saw people mentioned Microcenter in previous comments and thought it was an Australia’s website

  • Can't believe it - bought one too! Damn you OzBerghain! Thanks OP

  • Glad i bought one. Was contemplating one for both my wife and i. Such a great deal, thanks op.

  • I slept on this deal, now I'm regretting not jumping on

    • You might not if they cancel all the orders. Considering it's "in stock at supplier" Synnex/Ingram or whichever distie may decide not to honour the price.

  • Do I need 32GB RAM or 16GB enough for most tasks?

    • Definitely wait until you actually get the laptop either way.

I found 16gb to be plenty in my Nitro 5 (10300h, 1650ti), especially since this laptop already comes with a 2*8gb config

What you will almost definitely want is another nvme ssd for storage, 512gb isn't a lot when considering modern games

  • Waiting on a cancellation email. I notice the sold out website now shows on sale for $1999, especially as 1999 lines up with the on sale prices on the previous page

    • +2

      F. No good, saw that $1999 now, looks like we all starting to -ve this deal soon once we are getting cancel emails!

    • Damn I got excited I got a good deal

  • Thanks OP, Bought one too….I've been using a very old 10+ yr (but still like the look on it when the lid is close) Lambo VX7. Always want to upgrade but can't brighten up my day without seeing the bright orange lid. Finally…..hopefully I won't start seeing negative votes today……..otherwise would be my fate with the Lambo

  • 1 9 1 9 1 9 … loss

  • +3

Can confirm they said its listing error. Getting full refund in 2-5 business days. Sad now.

    • Where

    • Did you already receive cancellation email?

    • +5

I was sad I missed out but this sucks for everyone else who jumped on early. They should honour the listed price else it just seems like bait and switch.

  • +1

Price error, $1899 is the correct price, either cancel or order or pay $1699

    • Where are u getting this

      • +1

        Spoke with them.

        • +1

After seeing all the horrible stories above on this Scorptec, worry that they will screw us around on delaying the refund by BS during holiday period no one working on it. Will it be easier to ask Paypal to revert it instead?

    • +2

$1699 is a terrible price for these specs

      • +4

Well not terrible… But not great.

    • Very poor form if true - Scorptec should honour the agreed price.

      • +3

If they are such a d|ck & pain to deal with on warranty claims, you think they will do this? No way!
They better refund me asap and I will neg this deal and won't ever buy from them anymore.

        • I hope they took legal advice before making this decision!

          • +6

@slothhead: There's no need when the law is black and white. They have no legal obligation to honour a price error under ACL. Nor do they have to provide compensation. Anything more than a refund is good will.

People say shit about reporting to ACCC everytime this happens and it never goes anywhere. Seen it more than a dozen times over the years already.

    • Reminds me of that time when they had a TP-Link mesh router 3-pack for $129 (at supplier), but then sent out emails saying there was no stock and offered to sell a 2-pack for $529 instead.

      • +1

I don't care about their other stupid offers, just give us back our cash and we will go elsewhere.

        • +1

          That's exactly my point.

          I ordered mesh router 3-pack for $129 and got offered a 2-pack for $529.
          That's 1 fewer unit and at a $400 premium.

I find it insulting that they would make such a ridiculous offer to me instead of just immediately processing a refund.

          • +3

@HomeAlone: They using this tactic to delay refund. I reckon this time they just scam us with this deal and grep our cash to enjoy their holiday, we probably wont get our money back till NY

  • +2

Sorry to those who ordered. I was feeling sad about missing out this morning, it certainly could have just been a great deal.

  • +1

Does anyone know what is the refund process for PayPal pay in 4? Do I get the first payment refunded and the rest are automatically cancelled?

    • Yeah i did the same thing, but seeing paypal already paid them in full, I would assume after the refund, will just revert our 1st payment (if it comes back before 2nd payment due) Correct me if I am wrong please.

      • Yeah I also used PayPal pay in 4. Now no idea how it will work with the refund. What a mess.

  • +1

Scorptec always refund. They never honour.

    • +2

Yeah I won't be buying there again. First order was an Acer monitor that they ran out of stock on, told me more stock might be coming, ended up cancelling that order and changed to a samsung monitor (also from scorptec)

My experience combined with other people's stories of warranty problems - just not worth the hassle

  • +1

I have just received a formal cancellation email from Scorptec - now need to Wait for a sale at Lenovo and re-order the laptop I cancelled so that I could take advantage of this deal!

    • That sucks! Which deal/sale did you get onto for the Lenovo previously?

      • +1

Ordered the Legion Slim 5 14” for about $2100 with Cashback. I’d be great if cash rewards or ShopBack offered an enhanced cashback to give people who missed out on this deal a value buy.

        • Just a question around the legion. Do you know if it usually stays around the $2100 price. On the website it says its a sale of around $1000. So just wondering if its actually on sale atm

          • @Bluey123: Yes - Believe this laptop is regularly on sale, although the cash-back offered through shopback and cashrewards often changes - from ~3% to 15%.

        • +1

If you got a student mail, you can get it for 1950 or smthing, albeit without the decent warranty as the 2100$ one. During BF, that model get as low as 1700-1800 with cashback iirc. And we're talking about the 32gb ram + 1tb ssd option, not the base config.

          • @myvanbo: I don't have access to a student email address unfortunately!

            • +2

@slothhead: Then i would say Hold til boxing day at least to see what they're preparing for us. Deal after cashback and sale usually better than you buy it with student email (cannot use cashback with student email).

Boo to them.. If they honored it for 20-30 orders, that'd cost them less than 15k (because they're not selling without markups) and put them ahead of other competitors… would clear their name for bad after-sale as well. Cheap price for Marketing imo.

  • +1

Well that wasn't obvious at all was it…….

  • Got my cancellation email

  • It's a shame they didn't honour for those who purchased but it was an unreal price, there was this model on eBay for $1799 with a 7600s and I thought that was a decent deal

  • -1

Looks like my 17" HP Ozbargain purchase with 3080ti lives another day

    • Why would you even consider this if you already have that laptop?

      • Resell value.

        • +6

          Dam we OzScalpers now.

  • Canceled order price error stupid

  • Order has been cancelled, but I ordered quite late

  • Anyone consider buying this at $1699? I know its not the same as $1199, but looking at ther stores, there are still no other store that has it listed for $1699. Just want to get some inputs on the fair price for this model. For context, I am not a big gamer, but just wanted a laptop with enough grunt to last me a few years without an upgrade.

    • +4

For 1400-1500 maybe. For 1699, you better wait for cashback and sale from Lenovo and grab the Legion Slim which doesnt have any significant flaws.

  • Very disappointed

  • man i ordered early too but still got cancelled

  • Did anyone get their order?

    • -1

      In their dream only …

  • Received my cancellation email 😭

  • Shame they didn't honour. Really looked like a good deal, not a price error. Now to wait for refund.

  • Cancelled, unimpressed!

  • Since I see this yesterday, i knew it is too good to be true but take a bite to see how it go.

Got cancellation email this morning and now another email from afterpay about my refund is processed. I guess i start to look somewhere else for budget gaming laptop then.

    • Same here. Would you post here if you find something good🙏🙏😅
