  • Thanks OP. Looking to buy $60 card worth of $120 credit but T&C says "Double Dollars is live from 1am AEDT, Tuesday 26 December 2023 and expires on 11:59pm AEDT, Tuesday 26 December 2023. Double Dollar Deals are redeemable from 1am AEDT, Tuesday 26 December on the Timezone". So does it mean we have to use all credits on 26th dec itself or does this $120 have 1 year expiry as like past deals? Pls confirm.. thanks

    • +3

I think like normal, you just have to use or recharge your account at least once a year to keep your account from expiring.

The mention of expiry is talking about the time period where the double deal is valid between.

      • you have to recharge in store recharging online doesn't reset the expiry

        • Hmm! Good to know. That's a bit annoying though.

          • +1

@kickling: They changed it around last year i think which IMO is extremely scummy

        • Can someone please explain to me. I have Timezone existing physical card. If I load $60 on it on 26th, can I use the whole $120 credit later some other day or does it have to be used on 26th?

      • Is Arcade credit same like double credit ? or Arcade credit are the points kids collect when they play the games and later use them to redeem those points for items in store?

        • Arcade credit = $$

          Tickets = Points

  • Can you use TCN giftcards to purchase credit?

    • Yes

  • can you use giftcards online?

    • I was able to use Ultimate GCs online to purchase Double Dollars with the Timezone App using Apple Pay for my partners phone, but NOT using Google Pay on an Android. This was about 6 months ago so it might have changed since then.

…. pool our money and buy our own machines - just need an ozbargain clubhouse. There has to be a multitude of cheap CDB officespace. Can run the machines from eneloops, and serve roku gin.

What have an Australian R&B, dance and vocal harmony quartet got to do with timezone?

Thanks OP. Will come in handy with school holidays

      "I don't like arcades therefore it's a waste"
      Ok boomer move along now.

    • +6

My girlfriend loves when we stop by and give the claw machines a few tries to try to augment her plushie collection. Even if the rigged machines refuse to pay out, she still appreciates the attempts.

      • +3

lol this is us every single bloody time. We've gone $50-$70 deep without winning before. Though last time i was highly successful with 4 plush (2 each for the kids) & a bobblehead with only 10-12 scans over 3 machines. It was wild, the kids were over the moon and i held back from stretching my luck lol.

        • Guys…

          Guys…..

PLEASE DONT LET TIMEZONE MAKE YOUR KIDS GAMBLERS.

Go to a different timezone that doesnt have as many gambling games. Tell the kids its a scam. SHOW them its a scam. For (profanity) sake guys…

    • +6

Because screw spending money on fun you miserable git.

    • +2

You post this on every Timezone deal - you seem a little bit miserable :)

      • -2

        This deal is miserable

        • +5

You are the miserable one here champ. Did you get your heart broken at one of the Timezone venues or what. #Hugs

        • In your opinion. For others we get excited and happy for a discount on arcades and prizes.

        • It's double value though? Pretty good deal to me

  • So if I don’t have a card I will need to load in store I assume

    • app comes with a virtual card I though?

      • +1

yer I had a look… I think u need to get a physical card first to be able to add to app.
I could see no way to 'reload' if you don't

    • +1

Yeah will need to get a card in-store first then add it to the app

    • you can also save your card in the apple wallet, and tap to play all machines.

  • What Timezone has the best pinball machines in Sydney? The ones at Paddys and George Street are ok but hpoing there's more at the others.

  • +6

Just a reminder you can get $50 Timezone gift cards from Costco for $40.

    • Has anyone used the gift cards in store to load and it works with the promo?

      • Yep and yep

  • No $200 credit for $80 offer? Go away and try again, Timezone.

    • +4

if u go costco and get the 2 50 dollar cards u get 200 for 80

      • how much are the gift cards discounted at costco?

        • +2

          U get a 50 dollar card for 40 dollars

    • +1

Yep used this deal with combo of $68 after 15% discount from giftcards.com

  • Anyone here gone for a major prize?

    • nah but ive won like 10 plushies from timezone tho

  • +1

Sweet. Now it will only cost me $100 to win something from claw machines :)

    • HAHAHAHAH yes

    • What a bargain

  • +4

Maintenance cost to keep the girlfriend happy.

  • Maybe someone can correct me but I've preferred the unlimited games for one hour, which is about 35 bucks. With multiple kids, i can use one credit every 45 seconds, so about 80 credits an hour, or $200 game value. Yes you can't win the ticket stuff, but I can't see how I can justify loading up money.

    • $35 per person

Saw that and was tempted. So need to switch and play to get most of it (kinda against their rule but who cares). $35 per hour tho is not cheap if go alone but still good to try new games first time. Would be crap if can pay with this double credit but I don't think can.

    • Your multiple kids must be really small, soon they will only like to play ticket games & claw machines :)

    • Depends on how you like to go to the arcade. Some may prefer to go casually and do a scan here and there and save up for a major prize. Also you can't claim an Xbox Series S/X using those unlimited games ;)

      • How many tickets do you need to redeem an Xbox??

          • @rekke: WTF?! Our local timezone has never had any game consoles as prizes. I didn't even realise it was a thing. I gotta check out the capital cities…

            • +2

@grayst0ne: Read a comment on a precious thread saying you can just talk to the store manager and they can order the prizes in for you. I don't think it's common for timezones even in the cities to stock these prizes

        • +2

last time i check it was 190,000 tickets, ymmv

  • Anyone tried creating a new account but adding the sign-up $10 to the main account?

    • +2

Haven't tried it but I know someone got into an altercation by recycling accounts to get the $10 sign up bonuses. Probably not worth it for effectively 4 scans on the machines

  • How do you use tcn gift card online for reload? Its only showing credit card to be entered in payment page for $100

  • Is there a way to lock the card in case it gets misplaced or stolen?

    • Can't see option in app or on website

  • Is the only way to recharge using a gift card via instore? I have added Powercard to app but only see Visa/MC/Amex option via eWay

    • Same question. I bought 2 x $50 gift cards from Costco but can’t see any options to redeem them using the app.

      • +2

You have to do it in store unfortunately

  • Is this works with Kingpin https://www.kingpinplay.com/en-au/?

  • Last two deal times now I have had issues being able to load credit on existing cards that have definitely been used and reloaded within 12 months. They show up with no reload options at all.

After missing out for Black Friday, I emailed (no help at all, kept being bounced around teams and never ended up getting a response) and then went instore and got the cards switched to new ones. Immediately after the switch all three had the ability to reload online, but fast forward to today only one lets me reload.

    • Tried clearing app data or deleting and reinstalling the app?

      • +1

Pretty sure it’s not an App issue but a card/account issue as the same issue exists when I try and reload via Kingpin Member Portal for those two cards specifically. The cards previously could be reloaded via Timezone App or Kingpin Member Portal online with no issues.

  • Got enough credit, will wait for another load $80 get $200

  • So do these credits work with the claw machines?

    • +1

      Yes

      • +1

Awesome! Kids got a toy claw machine for Christmas and have been practising at home lol

        • Haha, yeah, sometimes it can take a few goes to get them…can work out to be $20 or more for one soft toy 😔

I scored one OLED switch and one PS5 recently 😬, so I'm slightly ahead, but not by much 😂

          • @John Kimble: Wow congratulations!

Went today with the kids. Can't believe how short some of the games were esp with an 8 and 5yo playing. An expensive outing if it wasn't for the double credits. Was able to drum into the kids heads that the 2mins they played cost $5 each time. Fortunately they know that $5 can buy a toy so they can appreciate how expensive the games were haha

  • Anyone with an in app $10 voucher able to stack this towards the deal?

    • Yep, but I can only claim in store.

  • Has anyone with a giftcard (e.g. TCN) been able to purchase the credit using the Timezone app?

Or is there no way and you have to go to a store to do it? It's a shame because this deal is only for today and not everyone can make it to a Timezone today itself.

    • payment will no go through so in person is the only way.

  • -1

Does the app actually work for anyone? Can get to the payment site, but then says “FAILED” topping up card.

  • -1

Can this be purchased today and play another time or the double credit must be used today ?

  • ffs, do you need to have a physical timezone card to buy credits on the app???
ive just downloaded the app and the power card section i can either scan in a physical card or enter the details manually. I cannot see anywhere where I can buy credits or create a virtual card on the app 😭

  • -1

I refuse to let timezone steal any more money from my kids. We loaded $100 on and didn't use it all, 12 months later all the money and tickets accumulated were gone. All they could say was that the terms and conditions are on the website.
