    Great prices.
Bought the 77 on Black Friday for $3839. Should have held off a little while longer!

    • +45

I'd cop the $15 loss for the extra months worth of viewing pleasure.

    • +7

Wait, surely you’re joking, right? Like, I just wanna make sure this was supposed to be funny. Or is that some OCD thing so your mind is content that you purchased at the absolute lowest recorded price ever? Not sure if serious.

      • Definitely OCD haha
I was happy to wait longer but I didn’t think it would get cheaper anytime soon.

    • +10

lol..$14.76. it's basically a rounding error. It's a loaf of bread and some milk. 🤣😂

      • +4

        Damn inflation!

      • -3

You'd be surprised what $15 buys you at aldi or local Asian grocer.

        A little bit of everything.

        • +3

Almost everything from Asian grocery more expensive than WWS/Coles other than some local vegs

          • @yuisakas: Yea mate, have to shop around. Everyone counts on customer inertia (people being lazy) and have low prices on some stuff to lure you in and charge more for other stuff. So have to know prices in general and pay correctly.

Coles worth have cherries at $15 pkg.
            Aldi $14pkg
            Local grocer $12pkg

Some other fruit and veg deals to be had too. But have to shop around.

          • @yuisakas: except for the billion things that woolies don't sell.

        • I highly doubt the local Asian grocer is the cheapest for anything, except items that aren’t sold elsewhere (bunnings price challenge style).

    • +2

I paid over $500 more for the 77” C2 last December (and that was after an additional discount and using 10% off Ultimate GC). Inflation, what inflation?

    • You comment made me to check the price of 77" again

    • I feel sorry for you, you must live a tough life with that mindset.

      • It ain’t easy, I can tell you that for nothing.

        • -1

If it makes you feel any better (especially if your superstition exceeds your OCD), buying on Black Friday meant you avoided Mercury Retrograde— apparently electronics can go haywire and making an expensive purchase is not a good idea.

    • I paid $3200 for the C3 65" last month… I have 91hrs use, that's $11/hr loss.

edit: I also now need glasses, I have 51hrs use, so $19.60 loss per hour.

      • Does the tv have a watch time counter? Curious how you would know that stat.

        • Yes, not sure if it's exclusive to OLED but yes they do have

        • It's under TV information and shows hours powered on.

    • Same here. (+10% cash rewards pending).

  • If anyone can suggest. How this compares to SonyA95L ?

  • +2

    $2829.74 for the "65" G3 As well

  • with this the 65" G3 is under $3k… :O

  • -2

How is the price for these justified being 50% over something like the TCL C845? Is OLED really that much better especially considering people have said the MiniLED screens have better brightness during daytime too?

    • +6

      OLED > Mini LED.
Maybe Micro LED will change that one day.

    • +3

It's hundreds to thousands of dimming zones vs one per pixel so millions. Still a substantial difference especially in dark scenes.

      • +2

Exactly this. Blooming is still evident, regardless of how hard they’ve tried to mitigate it. Having said that, Sony’s local dimming algorithm is far superior than TCL’s so that's probably the better buy if Mini LED is a must.

    • +2

Also with the C845, there are some people reporting issues with recent firmwares, judders/motion issues, with no way of reverting back to previous firmware. Black bars in movies apparently looks grey in low light condition. Regardless of how many dimming zones, the picture processing are still not that of the quality compared to OLEDs, they don't retain details in dark shadows as well.

      • +2

Yep, whilst they’re great bang for buck, they do suffer from firmware issues. Very much like Hisense if you’ve had the unfortunate pleasure of owning one.

        • Haha my family decided to buy a 58" A6K, absolutely budget of the budget TV, for general watching and web streaming shows, it's not terrible for the price.

I'm also using a cheap TCL TV at the moment, so I'm sure if I end up getting the C845 50", it will still be a big upgrade. However I wouldn't consider it unless it's like close to $800 or so.

          • @Tbargain12: Don’t do it, you can get a 2nd hand 65” OLED still under ACL warranty for 1k.

            • @eccaz: For my use case max I can fit is 50", it's for the room, so I can't get something even 55", I'll have no space for my bookshelf speakers.

I'm waiting for the 48" C3 to go down, if it doesn't, then I'll have to settle for 42".

              • @Tbargain12: Even better, 48" OLED's can be had for well under 1k.

                • @eccaz: Where do you suggest checking for second hand OLED? I've tried a few months back, but most of the places were questionable.

    • +1

To many people, the price difference is absolutely worth it. Many people won't notice, however, so check in store to see if it is something you value

    • Go and look for yourself. Until a better tech emerges, my TV will only ever be OLED.

    • +5

TCL fanboys are a cult of annoying kents who magically appear in every single tv thread to try and convert unsuspecting victims.

      1. OLED is significantly superior to mini LED
      2. Yes, TCL is cheaper
      3. Good luck watching sport on a TCL
      4. Enjoy TCL’s operating system (or purchase a clunky 3rd party device)

Rather than copy pasting, try typing the key

  • Doesn’t seem to work? Says invalid key and that I’m not eligible? Used outlook email account.

    • Did you try and copy the VIP membership code straight from the post?

    • Had the same error initially. I had to log out, log back in then tried the key and it worked

      • Hmmm, I'm getting two error codes even after signing out and in again.

Invalid key. Please try again with a valid key.
You are not eligible for VIP Program!

oh well, not for me I guess

        • +1

Everyone should be able to upgrade their base LG account to VIP

Did you try and upgrade it via this page?

          • +2

@BargainsGrabber: Got it using samwisethebrave05's suggestion; different browser. Now what I want is OOS, lol.

        • +1

I had the exact same error messages show up. I just tried it a second time (this time typing in the code instead of copying the code), and it worked.
So just keep trying and perhaps try the other suggestions as well. Good luck!

    • +2

Had the same issue to start with. I used a different browser, and manually typed out the code.
Worked the 3rd time I tried.

      • This worked for me too, used Edge instead and success finally

      • Wasn't working on Google Chrome or Safari on Macbook but it finally worked on my iPhone with Google Chrome

  • +3

Outstanding, for those who have not had a chance to see these on the shop floor I would highly recommend it (though it would not be optimised for home settings).

I have a Samsung NEO QLED which has nice brightness and the LG C3 is incredible in both picture quality and brightness for an OLED. Same goes for Sony OLED.

These prices are excellent and I would not expect it to go lower until Easter.

    Nice find and post OP.

  • Rumour has it the MLA technology will not be in next years C4 so you'll still need to buy G4 if you want top of the top unfortunately.

  • What's LG's operating system like and would hours of ABC's news channel per day give me burn in?

    • MLA has supposedly improved the risk of burn-in due to the use of a heat sink. WebOS is fine IMO but I have read people state that it’s a PITA to operate and have resorted to an Android box.

  • Classic, 55" C3 at $1.7k and the 42" is $1.6K and 48" is still over 2K.

    • The 48 inch is $1835…

      • more expensive than the 55 inch lol

      • Where are you seeing this? A quick google, not a single store is $1.8K, I mean it shouldn't be that much anyway, $1.5 is more reasonable.

  • +4

Awesome, all works…thanks OP, I now finally got a 65"!!!

    • +2

Congrats! I’m still entertaining the idea of a 65” G3 or A95L in my small bedroom. Where is yours going?

  • +2

"HSBC_LG_VIP" is invalid for me on a fresh account via google SSO or via email signup :(. Have tried typing it and logging in and out a few times but doesn't seem to work.

edit: nevermind i am an idiot; must be done from this page. Also did not work first try or on the Google SSO account.

  • +3

The 42 inch C3 comes down to $1299.73. Don't think that's an all time low but seems quite good

  • out of stock for 65"

    • +2

Not all states have stock. I tried 4000 as postcode and they still have stock

    • Depends on your state.

  • +3

What an insane bargain, picked up a 55" - thanks OP!

  • I can only see OOS :(

  • No 43?

  • Code stopped working

    • Which code? I can still see the 15% off being discounted in my cart

      • I assume it'll stop working whenm you checkout

"HSBC_15:The coupon code "HSBC_15" is invalid"

        • Nope the code still works. Just tested and went to the payment screen

Does your LG account have the VIP status?

          • @BargainsGrabber: Yes it does, was working before, isn't working now i'm checking out.

          • +1

@BargainsGrabber: Apologies, you're right, turns out the code wasn't working for me because it processed and then cancelled an order without me knowing.

A new account wouldn't sign up for the VIP status, but then it worked in incognito and I could move forward.

            Thanks for confirming

  • +1

Any recommendations for people to wall mount this TV, wall mount the sound bar and also hide the cables behind the wall, routing power and all that fancy stuff?

Any idea how much it'll cost as well?

Any people recommended would be great.

  • 65 C3 is OOS for my suburb. Wondering if I'll go with 65 G3 instead. Is it worth the extra $600?

    • Took too long to think about it. Coupon is gone from my account now. :D

  • +1

Cheers OP, just grabbed the 65 C3

  • +1

    C3 42inch is $1299….
    $1835.23 for the 48inch C3

  • no stock in sydney

  • +2

Good price for the 77” , but picked up the 65” C2 $500 cheaper than current 65” sale price April runout last year , and rrps are down this year significantly too .
Expect huge runout sale in 24 as world economy stalls. They will have to start pushing 2024 models within 4 months . As usual the larger sizes disappear first so if your really worried and have FOMO grab one here and now but they will be getting cheaper from here to April May .

    • +1

Tend to agree with this. I'm going to HODL as I'm eying the 42" version for a PC monitor. Already got the A95K as a TV.

    • Expect huge runout sale in 24 as world economy stalls.

They always have the best sales in the first half of the year to get rid of last year's stock, it's got nothing to do with "world economy stalls".

      • Ok rrp was lowered this year , two wars going , oil stays high , china economy stalling , world in recession expect super bargains in electronics through the run out season .
But I’m sure you know best , it will be a normal run out .
        Maybe , we’ll see .
