If you want to save some money the peerless assassin is like $100 cheaper and offers similar if not better performance. The Noctua does have better warranty.

  • I have this exact cooler in my Fractal Core 500 small form factor case on a mini-ITX board. Great cooling while also fitting in the case with room to spare, and clears the RAM nicely

Reminder to everyone that the Taiwan factory is now open again which means cheap shipping for us and direct from the manufacturer via the Noctua Newegg store!!!

I have the NH-U12A, it was good for its time at the price. Today however, competition has caught up. I would buy the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 instead. Similar or better performance for a much lower price.

Yes, Noctua sends you free mounting kits if you have a CPU that requires an updated mount. However, you have to take a photo of your new CPU/motherboard and invoice before they will send it out. So are you willing to wait for up to a month for the kit to arrive while your build parts sit around?
