I Forgot to Pick up My Domino’s Pre-Order

Hey guys, I am sure most of you would have seen and used this SB deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/824167) posted last last Wed. Following the comments in the post for more savings, I made a pre-order for 2-for-1 pizza Tues for the following week.

However, I got busy with a new job and I made a big boo boo and forgot to pickup my Domino’s pre-order (yes I know!) ☹️

Is there anything I can do to get my pizzas and/or save this deal? Would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

go back in time and get them
where the pizza's cooked if so why should the store refund you, they spent time, effort and materials to make it

      • +40

        There isn't.

        • +37

I disagree. This can be salvaged by treating it as a life lesson and learning from it

I think it's unlikely based on OP trying to weasel out of a mistake that is completely his fault for a $10 pizza

Nope, you've posted if now and people have already judged you

      Great way to save money

Order the pizzas and forget to collect??? LOL LOL LOL

    • +13

Seriously. The OP was asking a simple question and you can't even bother to give a reasonable response?

Clearly if OP went back in time and claimed he pizza, he would have had the pizza and would have never needed a reason to go back in time and therefore would not have been able to claim it.

A reasonable response would be for OP to travel forward through time until the universe expands and deteriorates billions of years from now then the universe restarts with the big bang again as per The Big Bounce theory and OP returns the the day of the pizza claim, kills his new self and eats the delicious, free pizza.

This is a much more helpful response.

Typical entitled brat! Then people wonder why this country is going downhill with so many people like OP around. Take some responsibility for your actions! Time to learn actions or lack of action have consequences learn to deal with them, at least you only lost $10.

@ilovefullprice: I think that fact that you even wrote this post shows that even when you stuff up you still think the world owes you something. You sound like someone who needed an award just for waking up in the morning.

              • +30

                @ilovefullprice: "Fair solution"?

What is unfair about what has already happened? You ordered and paid for pizza, pizza was made, you didn't pickup up said pizza.

And now you are crying "It's not fair!"

                Totally pathetic

@ilovefullprice: Remove the barriers of real life - what is your solution or fair solution? Seriously. Use your imagination - what, in your mind, if there were no limits to what you suggest, is a fair solution?

          • @ilovefullprice: Sure is bud, take responsibility for the it, learn from the mistake and move forward.

            You're welcome.

Once the pizza has been cooked, the store has absorbed a labour and food cost for producing the product.

If you call the store same day one of 2 outcomes will occur (depending on the Manager’s judgement):

    • The order will be cancelled and refunded.

    OR

    • The store will not refund the order.

If it is not same day, the refund process is much more complex and requires the store to email head office and fill out a form to complete so it will be less likely a refund can be attained in this scenario.

      • +10

It’s gonna be up to the store. Be honest to the store. At the end of the day they’ve spent the labour and food to make your product, it’ll be up to the store whether they are willing to offer a replacement/refund as a gesture of goodwill.

              Of course not!

The fact that OP is still trying to weasel his way out of this beggars belief.

Still … at least pretty much every reply OP's made has been appropriately negged.

Why the heck you want a refund (if your order is $10 or under) ???

you getting $10 back regardless. Its so much hassel to ask store for a refund. and then get your $10 cashback declined etc. ??

      • +8

        I hate people like you.
Stop being a tightass, it's your fault.

      • (profanity) sake this is absolutely pathetic. I cannot and refuse to believe this guy isn’t a troll. People like this don’t exist. Surely.

  • +2

OP name checks out on this one. lol

  • +3

But I thought you love full price?

    Consider this full price + $10 ;)

    • +3

This is worst than (full price -$10), OP got no pizza yet paid a price lol

    • +1

      It's FOOL price!

  • If you look like a delivery app driver, you can just go get some for free.

No not a delivery app driver.

Wait for the next 2 for 1 deal, order two pizzas and get two free pizzas. Just don't forget to collect them.

Don't they have your contact details?
At some point, don't they contact you and ask if you are going to collect your pizza???

    • -3

Yeah they have my email and mob. no. but they didn’t contact me on Tues.

    • +1

I think they are a bit busy making pizzas to call up the forgetful people.

      • +2

Fair - but then why do they require your contact details if they are not going to try and contact you???

        • +2

So they can spam your inbox. As simple as that.

  • +1

Set up a Reminder like this person.

I don't think you are alone. Some keep slient or forget it right after ordering.

    • -8

Do you mean setting a reminder in my Dominos account (via my Dominos app) or in OzB?

Also something strange happened with this order. I have a Dominos account (in my Dominos app). With this order, I didn’t login to my Dominos account, I just made the purchase without login into my Dominos account, however I did use the same email and mob. no. details as my Dominos account. Doing so, this order did not appear in my Dominos account. With no order appearing in my Dominos account, I am unsure if I am able to set a reminder in my Dominos account (via my Dominos app).

      • just order it at a good time, (say after work), so you remember to bring in home from your way to home? or something like that. May be just give up on Tuesday discount if you cannot get it on tuesday.

        • -6

I just started a new job this week and was hectic. I am not usually someone who would forget things.

      • Do you mean setting a reminder in my Dominos account (via my Dominos app) or in OzB?

        However you want.

There are countless ways of making a reminder so you remember to do something.

Why does it need to be with Domino's or ozbargain?

  • +4

Is there anything I can do to get my pizzas and/or save this deal?

Sure drop in and ask them for your 4-5 day old pizzas. Other than that, no. they made the pizza, why should wear the cost for your mistake.

  • It's $10 mate, entirely your fault. Learn this lesson and move on.

  • How much was your total order amount OP ??
under $10 ? aka fully compensated by the Cashback regardless of getting the food or not ??

if so then stop worrying about it, you didnt loose anything

      • +5

How hard is it to tell us the total amount. JFC.

Is there anything I can do to get my pizzas and/or save this deal?

Let me rephrase that for you: "Is there any way for me to whinge about my own mistake and have someone else bear the cost?"

  • +4

In future, we'll be seeing "Order will be forfeited if not picked up" in the T&Cs.

  • +1

The amount of troll posts on this forum is getting way out of hand

  • So if i lose out on more than $10, i can get my money back? I'm going all in on the stock market!

OP, you can learn to set a reminder or alarm on your phone in case you forget these things.

  • If we ignore reality for a moment, can you let me know what possible outcomes you would expect?

  • +2

This post is an all time low for ozbargain…..

    • +1

ozbargainspirit, where people feel entitled a refund for their mistake, and has nothing to do with a bargain

Thats what OP is claiming that means anyway

  • +1

Here's a thought - you pre-ordered and the pizzas were made. You just haven't picked up… yet.
Rock up today to pick up. If they don't have the pizzas, demand that they remake them.

Tongue firmly in cheek, and wearing Karen hat.

  • I dont know how pre orders work for dominos but if they have already used labour and the ingredients and cooked the pizza they have done their part. How can you expect them to give you a refund they would then lose money on the transaction.

  • I had the same mistake I ordered earlier in the night and came right before closing.

Staff said they were not legally able to give me the food due to health and safety reasons I think I was late by like 3-4 hours or something.

So they offered to make me a fresh one.

I can't remember now if I took the old pizzas. I think I did because I didn't want them to make a new one at closing.

Stupid decisions end in stupid mistakes.

    Health is so important.

    • +5

      Health is so important

Seems ordering from Domino's might have been incompatible with such ideas

      • what can I say i like to eat

it was the blurst of times

  • +1

How old are you OP? If you are old enough you should learn to take responsibility and liability of your own actions. Domino's should charge you an admin fee for wasting their time and energy in keeping an eye out for the collection and the eventual disposal.

It's your fault. Own up to it and don't blame others.

  • +9

    Domino's policy:

"3.4.7 - If you forget to pick up the order within 4 hours, we will happily refund the full amount because you obviously shouldn't be penalised for your own mistakes, and we will share the order among employees."

    • -4

Where do you find it? Maybe not from the policy in AU.

      • +2

        WOOSH!

        • I have done the search on Domino's AU and couldn't find it. People can mistakeningly quote the policy in another area like this.

In the future, it is helpful and referred to if you want to cancel the order due to cashback not tracked.

      • Immediately after 3.4.6

  • +17

Just learn from this scenario. Even I learned something from this. I learned that the neg limit has been upped to 10.

    • Hmm, my limit says 8 …
      :(
