Bargain (definition): a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected.

    • Are you thinking of a price error instead?

    • +9

Member since 2015. Surely you must have seen plenty of deals about iPhone, MacBook, not to mention Herman Miller Aeron chair and Tesla cars? And yes, as mentioned by parsimonious one, I think a typical OzBargainer would care more about things priced cheaper than usual rather than cheaply made and cheaply priced stuff.

    • +17

Don’t be dumb. Just because you personally won’t buy this bag for $245 doesn’t mean it’s not a bargain given they usually go for about $500. Be better. This site is not your own personal bargain hunter for items only you want to buy

      • +8

Do you think iPhones should only cost $500 because that's how much they cost to make? There's plenty of costs involved in running a business. Staff need to be paid, designers are permanently employed so salaries don't drop to zero the moment they finish designing something, worldwide logistics costs plenty of money, lifetime warranties cost money to provide, etc.

Don't be naive by simply looking at a $30 Kmart backpack and thinking all backpacks should only cost $30.

        • -8

And remember, a backpack is not an item which required a lot of money for research and development like a handphone. What I mean is, it is not cutting edge technology. A backpack does not need software updates or even extra RAMs, or storage from time to time.

          • +3

@strupper2003: I don't think there's much point in replying too much to you as you've already made up your mind. I doubt you'd be able or willing to accept the differences between the costs of running a a business in the US vs China.

        • +1

With you on everything. But phones cost barely $30 of you are talking the material costs.

          Not including RD, shipping etc.

I can tell you that the extra stuff certainly wouldn't make up the other $470
Great product, refined beautifully over the years, but expensive to make it is not.

Probably, just maybe, how they hit $3tril to go with their big numbers of sales.

      • +10

When I frequently carry $5-10k of camera equipment when I go hiking (I'm not a professional photographer, just love the outdoors), I need the assurance that my bag can keep my equipment safe, so have spent $500 on a bag like this. At half price, that is a bargain! Not everyone is the same as me of course, but not everyone is the same as you …

          • +10

@strupper2003: The amount of stupid in this thread is just mindblowing.

          • +1

            @strupper2003: Found the non-photographer.

            • +2

@ddhar: Look, I have been respectful and debate the points raised by others. Do not veer ok.

              • +2

@strupper2003: Honestly there is nothing to debate, it's demand and supply the normal price is hundreds because people who see the value in the bag and are willing to pay that amount.
If you don't see the value in it then the bag isn't for you and you're not in the target audience but because you don't see it as a bargain does not mean it's not a bargain for others.

          • +7

            @strupper2003:

How could Car A justifies being priced twice as much as Car B based on safety alone, if both have 5 star?

Why did you buy a Philips air fryer instead of a Kmart air fryer? The Kmart one has exactly the same electrical safety approvals and consumer protection as the Philips.

Why did you buy a DJI Osmo Action and not a Yi Action Camera instead? They both record video don't they?

Why were you going to buy a Motorola phone? Why didn't you just buy a cheaper Redmi or Blackview? They're all just phones aren't they?

      • is the design way in advance of others.

Yeah, it's literally in the name of the brand…

    • What did you check, yourself?

    • It's not bargain for me, so it's not a bargain for anyone else!

    • "bargain means unexpectedly cheap."

Check out the La Marzocco deals. You'll love it.

    • He got shut up real hard LOL

  • +2

Best price I've seen for the 30L by far! The pic is of the 30L bag too. For anyone on the fence, comments from previous deal indicate no issues with fulfilment https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/827234

  • +1

Don’t forget to claim as a tax deduction for anyone that is working

    • Can an ordinary office worker claim a bag (like this) as a deduction? E.g., carry lunch, glasses, usb stick to and from work… maybe the occasional off site training day, etc?

      • Sure can. Work related expense, keep receipt

  • -1

Is it just me or does the listing looks a bit.. Off? Can't really explain it lol

  • +7

Site has 7 pictures of the bag with not a single one of those showing the inside/compartments.

    Drives me bonkers.

    • It’s a heavily reviewed bag, which I assume most would do check before dropping over $200

  • Have other colour for 5-6 years now and still going strong. Insane camera bag.

  • Is $245 for a bagpack meant to be cheap or something?

    • +12

      For a peak design yes

    • +1

If you want something that lasts for a very long time and have good support for your back then yes

      • It’s a bifl product for sure, just ensure to register it to confirm authenticity

      • Last for a long time, yes. Good support for your back… not so much.

You don't buy these bags for their load carrying abilities, you're buying them for access/organisational flexibility, and for build quality.

Owned one since just after the Kickstarter.

    • lol who calls it a bagpack??

      • +2

        It was a typo

        He meant backpag

  • Bag review here: Cannot recommend enough https://youtu.be/-pTGc7cIBIA?si=98IhZJMCd4PJwJcE

    • +1

That's the 20L. 30L must be pretty huge

Watching the video he barely actually talks about the bag and just runs the items he's pulling out of it. Then starts talking about his phone for the last 60% of the video LOL

    • eww :')

    • +2

      Yeah it's KAKA alright

      • Kaka means poop for those not in the know

        • This is a good poop 🤣

    • Who would buy that POS?

      • I don’t know why the downvotes
        Is this a bad choice?
Someone tell me why the downvotes?

  • Thanks, ordered the Navy 30L, i have the 20L in grey already. Great bag

  • Have the 30L in grey. Great bag, well worth the price.

  • Is it the V2 and is it carry on safe?

    • This appears to be the v2 design.
Most reviews I've seen do deem it as carry on safe (with someone actually taking the 30L on the flights).

    • Never had a carry on problem in my years with mine.

      • Can you put it under the seat in front and have an additional duffel in the overheads?

    • Yes I purcahsed for travel 2 years ago and was great across domestic and international / Europe. Also sold it for more than this once I got back. Great bag

      • Can you put it under the seat in front and have an additional duffel in the overheads?

        • I didn't try this but I wouldn't think so, it was packed with stuff, and I'm too big to fit as it is…

  • +3

    whats so special

  • +1

Well, I took a risk and got one. Hopefully the 30L

    • +3

Started with doubt, watched a poorly made review and ending your journey with a purchase and an upvote

    • +1

I bought the black one last week. Looks legit and was able to register on the pd website for warranty.

      • Cool, I'll have to remember to register. It was just the size wasn't clear because the drop down list had a bug to it.

  • I'm guessing the "Peak" design aspect of it refers to something other than its looks

  • +1

Naysayers move along. This bag is awesome and well worth what I paid which was more than this. Use it weekly for work, travel, etc. Calling it a camera bag sells it short.

  • -1

The weight and dimensions dont seem to match those listed for either the 20litre or 30 litre V2 bags on the Digidirect site listing

  • Help, i cant deternine how the one size refers to either 20/30L? Seems like a gamble. Previous post was specific to sizes.

    • It is included where 30L is indicated in the choices of colours. So it is highly likely that it will be a 30L version

    • The picture is that of the 30L

  • Copped one so I hope it's legit! Looking at the other posts from the previous deal it seems likely but you can never know.

  • Ordered it during the last deal - it arrived within 2 days and I was able to register it on the Peak design website as well so its genuine. In terms of the bag its really good for more details go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yxmcpOqrGnY&t=1480s&ab_chann…

  • Great price, I had just purchased for $350 yesterday from same seller, thankfully able to cancel.

  • +1

    $399 now?

  • +1

    Back to normal price now

  • Oos

  • Hugely popular backpack amongst YouTuber photographers. You look up most of the videos and the reviews are glowing. I do recall one video that points out with this design of bag there is no way of fully opening up the bag, ie. unzipping one side all the way down and exposing the entire interior of the bag. That might matter for some, and not for others. The same reviewer also pointed out that while yes it does have the top compartment, your only way of accessing the majority items is through the side compartments.
Based on the experience of a friend who worked in a camera shop for many years I decided against this backpack ended up with a similar capacity bag from Tenba and I'm super happy with it.
I do really like Peak design products though, I permanently have their wrist strap on my Fuji camera unless it's a long day and I swap it out for one of their shoulder straps. They're both awesome.
I like taking my camera with me on rides too, and anybody interested in that scenario should take a good look at the shoulder bags from Wandrd. I have their 9L Roam bag and it is the tits.

  • No stock

  • This is a great price.
Also consider the product support is exceptional, I had a v1 30L that discoloured over time and Peak sent me a brand new v2 as replacement.
I actually preferred the v1 design, but am still a big fan of the v2 and can highly recommend this bag.

  • Is "X" the new model? Not listed on PD website?

    • +1

I think it is Amazon way to describe Everyday v2 backpack. Great price .. but it appears the deal has finished!

  • ive had one for many years holds up good material might discolour if you dont leave rain on it though (mines grey), comes with lifetime warranty.
I got mine for around $400 so this is a good price i guess. You are paying a bit for the brand but it is a luxury item and also has a lot of research & development put into it.

  • Looks like it's $399 to me. Am I doing something wrong?

    • Ran out stock/discount has ended

  • i kept clicking on the link hoping it would magically change back to $245 but it doesnt. It's $399 now… after 5 hours here.

  • To those that have this bag, does it work well for a regular back pack (e.g., non-photographer)?

    • I used the 20L exclusively as a every day backpack with no camera

    • I used the 30L backpack as an office bag. It works well.

I have one divider so things I need can be accessed quickly. Then less frequently used items are in the bottom. Steam deck for with one side of the divider folded up.

I really like it. As to whether it was worth the upgrade from the Dell 17" gaming bag…

  • oh no… its out of stock. missed it. fingers crossed would come back

  • Anyone by any chance have the screen shot of the discounted price? Cheers

  • Missed it! Was looking for the blue as well…

  • Damn. I was on the fence on the first time, but after seeing everyone get legit bags I'm devo I missed out.

  • just received mine, very nice 30L Navy looks great.

    Thanks OP!

  • +1

got mine yesterday too and the bag is brand new and in great condition and definitely a genuine one.

  • Mine hasn't shipped yet sadly. Hopefully next week…

  • Quick review - it's actually quite uncomfortable. I bought this for my trip to Japan (here now) and it is my 4th day with minimal load (6-7kg incl. bag) and my neck and shoulders are very sore after a few hours. I am used to carrying alot more on day hikes but this doesnt' feel right.

Looked up reddit and I'm not the only one - I may need to return this as much as I love it, it's just not comfortable. Sucks coz I love this bag!
