I used to work at Optus. The reason we do it because some devices arrive DOA. If you open it at the store and its DOA, we do a straight swap on the spot, otherwise if you leave, and it ends up being DOA, we have to send it to Apple for the swap which takes longer.

We arent interested in popping anyones cherry (lol). We open new phones everday.

  • can you buy in store without telstra account and pay the $38 for 36 month?

  • FFS ordered 2 Pro's last week at full price!!

    • Ouch! That is $600

      • Yep! I should stay off ozbargain after a big purchase next time

  • to get 300 website wants you to slave on with their congested network for 3 years

  • How to I get the outright purchase option?
Telstra App takes me to a web portal which only shows 12/24/36 option

    • Are you signed in with your TelstraID?

      • I thought I was singed in but might have had some issue. I think I was not signed the app and that he reason it took me to the web port

Once it the App need to go to "ALL Phones" to see iPhone 15

Bought iPhone 15 outright from Telstra Castle Hill shop. Don't have TelstraId and shop guys didn't even asked for. Whole process took less than 5 mins…faster than Apple store.

I bought the Cygnett AeroMag Case iPhone 15 and an $8 from Kmart, mate no difference at all! I'd get the Kmart one and change it once they stained. good luck. Dok

      • Is the drop test and military grade testing (MIL-STD-810G) just advertising puffery ?

  • Does anyone happen to know if the Telstra purchase can be counted as the spend eligibility on credit card ? Suncorp has this spend $3000 in 3 months and get $500 gift card back, thinking if using both deals would be beneficial ?

      no reason why it wouldn't

  • I was going to upgrade my wifes 11 to a 14 and use her 11 to replace my Sammy s10e but a 14 is only $100 less (and would still have us using different charging cables) so I might change strategies and go 15 for me and 15 pro for her (she's the photographer)
