PNY RTX 4070 12GB XLR8 $829, PNY VERTO OC RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB $969, MSI RTX 4070 Ti VENTUS $1059 Delivered + SurChg @ Centre Com

310

Linked deal is the MSI Ventus 4070 Ti.
PNY XLR8 4070
PNY Verto 4070 Super. The PNY VERTO OC RTX 4070 SUPER is also available at MSY/PCByte/Umart for $969 + Delivery.

The 4070 Ti is about 10% faster than the 4070 S, which itself is about 15% faster than the 4070.

Might also be worth mentioning that the 6950XT is still available for $949 at Scorptec, but this probably isn't worth it considering RT performance and software features.

Galax 4070Ti EX Gamer is also available for $10 more at $1069. Temps are better by ~7 degrees comparing the 4070 Ti Super models (which use the same cooler) though it shouldn't matter considering how all of the 40 series coolers are pretty overkill

    • Especially when you get into the chonky boys with triple slot coolers on 4070 Ti models.

      • Still, I'd argue (less seriously) the $10 dollars is worth it for the looks (even though the EX Gamer is also ugly). Dunno why MSI went back to the fugly white shroud for the Ventus

    • Great point, but where did you get this cooling data from?

        from here

I know I'm jumping through a lot of hoops but it's essentially the same cooler (but white) on a different GPU, so the temperature data is at least somewhat relevant

    • 3dba higher though which means it's twice as loud.

      • but will it sound twice as loud though, random reference "Although an increase of 3 dB represents a doubling of the sound pressure, an increase of about 10 dB is required before the sound subjectively appears to be twice as loud."

Besides we are talking 33.5db at full load which is nothing, background noise or other case fans will cover that.

If you're wonder about frames per dollar comparing these deals. They are all pretty close on dollar per frame for each card at these prices.

    • The base 4070 is probably sufficient for 4k gaming as long are you aren't nothing less than 120fps elitist. I personally am happy with 60 fps. A long time ago I remember playing an Alien vs Predator game which ran acceptably except when the aliens were nearby; the Fps would drop to perhaps 12 fps which made targeting rather hard. I was poorer than I am now and had dated tech back then.

      • Is there really a reason to pursue 4k gaming with a 4070 (a good 4k display is 3/4 the cost of the card itself, lmao) if you're going to end up dropping settings on demanding titles to hit a minimum of 60.

Most games will do fine-ish on the 4070 at 4k if all you want is the bare minimum 60. But if you have a 4k display (or have the budget for a 4k build), chances are you aren't looking at a 4070 to begin with.

      • Yes true. But I am. Talking about relative power value ratio. All three deals are fairly even on power value

        • I'm running a 4070 at 3440x1440 (120hz) and tbh for most of the things I do its fine.

Been quite impressed with the card, generally. In saying that I have been tempted to upgrade at some of these prices, but I figure I'll just wait for the 5x series as I'm so time poor it's probably a waste anyway!

      • So that was a feature then… you know when the Aliens are nearby because the FPS drops. I remember the jump scares in that game…
