If you're on a TV across the top there are various options. From memory if you click the TV+ icon then you only get the Apple TV+ programs which are all free as part of your subscription.

Worked for me on an inactive account, this would be at least my 4th or 5th trial, I did let it lapse at least once and auto-paid for 1 month (may of granted me more leeway).
Didn't work for me.
I got a message saying that the payment method (Visa) can't be used with the iTunes store.
I tried a Mastercard and got the same message.
So, I created a new Apple ID with a different email address and got the same message using Visa and Mastercard. ☹️
All good! It worked with my PayPal account.

Eventhough modern TVs have built in CC the experience is better and more apps, less restrictions (can even sideload apps, maybe see if you can do that for your telly).

The latest update I couldn't get HDR10 to work on my Samsung TV, Apple TV app on the TV is fine, just CCwGTV.
Have this problem before, normally force the app to close it will fix it but not anymore.
@superforever: maybe you have to play around with the audio settings (don't a few of them perhaps), different apps seem to use different audio types, plays havoc with the soundbar occasionally (and no sound) but a reboot helps. Mostly only happened with Apple TV app. It's prob mostly designed to work with Apple TV i guess.
@G-rig: I think is the Apple TV app itself, no problem with Netflix, Prime, Disney+.
Surround audio is fine, just no HDR10 because Samsung TV doesn't support dolby vision.
@superforever: Agree, yeah. I'd try googling your TV and apple tv+ app, could be another version that works better you could sideload (if posssible). Clear data/cache and force stop usually helps but sounds like it doesn't

for anyone else wondering what to watch movie wise on TV+. I have watched and can recommend Sharper, Cherry and Emancipation.
Causeway is another new one but I dunno if I wanna watch it yet because it didn't look too interesting.

Went to a free screening of that (killers..), what a surprise to find out it was 3 hours. They could have told that story in an hour tops.
yea to be honest not like a huge film buff or anything so not watching it because of martin scorcese. I just consider the story to be interesting enough. but yeah 3 hours sounds like a stretch. personally though it depends, I think I could put up with 3 hours of the napoleon story.

a bit off topic but just wanted to rant about apple's online store and it's not worth starting a thread over.
so this afternoon I was looking at getting a homepod with 10% off giftcards I have. stated delivery/click and collect tomorrow. then 1 hour later I get home and it says Monday 4th March at the earliest for both, click the drop down and checked all other stores and the same thing.
what changed in an hour? I checked and apple store is open on the weekends and so why suddenly next day C&C is blown out to monday at the earliest? strange. anyway I took it as a sign I wouldn't be impressed with the product anyway and decided not to buy. just wanted to know how come it could change so much in 1 hour.

sorry forgot to mention it's from their refurb section. they sell them at the same place though so pick up from apple store.
I guess they didn't have much stock? but usually when the refurbs go out of stock you literally can't add to cart or buy that particular item for months.
just weird apple stuff I think they want to limit the number of people in the store or something? because I know about the whole genius booking appointment thing and at the back of the store it's always packed full of old people who don't know how to do something simple.
another reason I think it's not a stock issue is I heard apple is having a very tough time selling homepods and people just dont think of apple when they look for a speaker. so I was assuming most of the time they might just be breaking the seal on new stock and selling as refurbs.

To get a refund I have to "upgrade" my login, which fails to progress past the two factor authentication. Which forces me to give Apple my phone number, then still fails.

The Apple TV+ app screws up the sound on the Google TV+soundbar every so often, or after a while (different apps can use different sound formats). Hard to ever fix that without power cycling, doesn't take too long just annoying.
Won't bother with another trial (see below), already saw Anyone But You(2024) on Stremio+RD etc, it's still a rent/buy title on apple ;).

Can you tell if something looks HDR or not by looking at it? I renewed the trial but easier to just use Stremio.

I checked it from Samsung settings, it will tell if HDR is on or not.
No problem before, just happened after Google TV update.
Got this message - didn't realise there was a limit to the number of codes we could redeem!

Should be enough time to see what it's about and watch most stuff. No harm in extending for a month for $13 or keeping if you like it. Expired anyway now.
