Your 12V socket must be an always on one.

  • Showing as $15.99 when logged in w/ Prime and no option for coupon - may be expired now

  • Damn, have been waiting for this to drop for ages and i missed the deal for a few minutes!

  • Anyone know at a glance if this would charge an M1 macbook air? I have got a 60w one but would love one that fits snug in the cig socket so I can close the container when not in use.

    • Can test for you tomorrow if you would like.

      • Ahh just went and did it then.
        Seems like it is.

        • Fantastic, thanks mate, going to add it to my watch list now!

@doobey1231: I’ll do another test tonight but I wasn’t 100% sure if it was just using it for the battery, or actually charging.
I have a feeling it said ‘Power Source: Power Adapter, Your laptop is not charging’.

Let me double check after work sorry!

  • I have one of these in my car, it's fantastic.

  • This is something that puzzeled me for long time: USB PD can support up to 5A current at various voltage levels, including 12V. The Automobile auxiliary power outlet is rated 10A to 20A, greater than the limit of PD, so we should see TYPE-C pd easily providing 60W (12V×5A), but I never saw such a product!

    • One reason for the lack of such a product is that it would require a 5A USB cable (e.g. the 100W type-c cable can handle 20v×5A, hence it could do 12v×5A), and people would constantly put thin cable to use. This is not the case because 5A USB cables has E-Marker chips in them to tell the devices if they can handle 5A. Also, if it is that case, wouldn't it be a good idea to simply make cables rather than PD chargers? That is charge cable that is one side TYPE-C and another end fits The Automobile auxiliary power outlet directly, hence there is no chance plugging in the wrong cable?

    • Some of the Baseus chargers like this one are smart enough not to go to 160W if you have a 12V socket saving you from a blown fuse.

      • holy lord thats a lot of W

        • 100W max off a single USB-C port. My Motorola can do 125W charging and that's crazy.
