Goodluck claiming warranty from WORLDFONE !

  • I am buying this ASAP tommorow !!! Love it!!

  • +1

    title says 1tb RAM lol

    • +4

Chinese ram maybe like Chinese lumen ratings or maH rating

    • And description says 1TB GB SSD ;)

      • +2

It is late and I am tired. Thank you for the constructive feedback.

  • I am i the only one that read it 1TB Ram?

    • So i can open 1000 chrome tabs of corn

      • You can open 10 chrome tabs at once!

  • Do we get 1 year international warranty on this?

  • Any1 here have experience buying things more than 1000 aud from Aliexpress? Any import tax apply after that?

    • I assume that tax will be paid upon checkout, like all aliexpress payments.

    • +13

Tax on checkout. I spent just over 2k for a lifepo4 battery for my solar. Would have cost 8k here omg… Working well 10 months in

      • +1

Link please I'm curious about solars :)

      • here for more details

    • +1

I don't think there is tax above 1K

      • Correct. Import tax will be applied to any value.

    • +5

tax over $1000 is like 10 years ago… now everything is taxed regardless of $0.10 or $10000.

      • -3

No, Aliexpress doesn't charge any tax on items over $1000. But you will have to pay import duty when it arrives.

        • Not sure why my comment is negged. It's very easy to test: add this laptop to cart, click checkout - there is no tax. Add any $500 item to cart, click checkout - $50 tax (GST?) is added to the order total.

      • Isnt that GST? Im talking about import tax/duties.

Spec is great. Though warranty statements for this seller are a bit concerning. If something happen it will be almost impossible to get warranty repair or replacement

  • Great specs but delivery is May 21
    😐

  • Absolute banger of a laptop deal IMO. Local configurations tend to half the RAM AND add $200 surcharge for (profanity) knows what.

    • +6

      An actual warranty

      • You think warranty in Australia costs manufacturers an extra $300 vs warranty in USA?

(I know this deal is not for a USA retailer, but my comments on the general state of laptops in Australia is comparing vs USA. It's probably much cheaper again in China, but that's a different story.)

        • +3

The other way around. If anything goes wrong, it will cost you a lot more than $300

  • $1318 for 16GB ram
    $1446 for 32GB ram

    Isn’t it?

    • Also correct. My apologies.

  • +2

Anyone with experience buying a laptop from this seller or Aliexpress (CN)? Worth the risk?

  • -2

Who share this illogical advertising…. Who….
864 usd is United dollars,,,, 1320 aud
    Where is the warranty???
    Which company give the warranty….
İm a Lenovo user for many years, can somebody explain what is Xiaoxin mean?!

    • -4

Xiaoxin literally means, little confidence. Avoid

      • +9

if you're talking about that xiaoxin, that means be careful

    • +13

Xiaoxin is the Chinese brand name of the Ideapad series.
      Xiao - 小
      Xin - 新
In Chinese culture, referring to someone as 小 + their last name is a way of addressing them informally and affectionately. The prefix "小" (Xiǎo) literally means "small" or "young". And Xin(新) here means "new".

        • +4

When you can type proper English, you’ll find out the answer.

          • -5

@FOX: Your answer is not the true answer.
On the other hand, which company or supplier give the warranty, or has device any warranty?!
However, in any case, should we ship the device to China?
In conclusion; I'm sure about two points, one of them is warranty service is not clearand, and one of them is you don't know respect and kindness.

  • +1

Is this good for entertainment? Watching movies and browsing online

    • This is way overkill for that.

      • +2

I mean, it'll be the best screen for that.

    • -1

      Get a MacBook Air instead

      • +1

what are the odds we what arrived in the mail inst whats listed above

  • +2

"84wh big mac fast charging battery" ?? 🤯

    • +6

The Big Mac is known as 巨无霸 in the Chinese market, which literally mean something like “giant” or “titan”. 巨无霸 is also the word they used to describe the battery capacity here in the original Chinese marketing material, which I guess accidentally got translated into big mac.

  • +2

Lenovo has been using low melting point solder balls for their past generation, which cause the machine die quite early (like 3 year mark) and they can get away with warranty too.

They claim they have rectified the issue after 2023, but I don't know how much should I trust that.

  • Anyone know why the 16 inch version doesn't have oled?

  • +1

Looks very nice, better than the yoga pro 7i deal the other day

    BUT…..

    warranty….. damn

  • +3

Bought this for AUD1634 two weeks ago
AliExpress did not add additional tax
Seller asked me what amount I wanted them to declare as, I said 900 AUD just to try to see if it would work… and DHL did not ask me for any further tax :/
This was from seller named Lenovo AE-Mall Store

Laptop wise, an insanely good machine and I am impressed with mobile ryzen

    • Thanks for sharing your experience. Did you purchase from this seller on AliExpress?

      • -1

Different seller that's no longer registered. Doesn't bode well for warranty, but I'll order one tonight anyway.

      • This was from seller named "Lenovo AE-Mall Store"
They still exist so not sure what Ruben's on about

        • so no issues with the machine? how's the fan speed/noise/heat etc?

        • +1

Strange, this morning I googled them and clicked on the AliExpress link and it said "store not found". After your reply, I checked again and it very much worked!

Not sure if it was something on my end perhaps?

  • don’t do it guys they going to send you burritos and there is nothing you can do they always side with seller

    • AliExpress isn't too bad compared to Alibaba, they're horrendous!

On AliExpress, always pay by PayPal and credit card, this gives you two additional layers of protection.

      • it will not be able to penetrate the wall of burritos

        • Yep, use The Onion Browser and The Wall of Burritos and you should be fine.

    • mmmmMM burritos

      im sketpical though

i think a fortune cookie is more likely - which could level up the rage with a troll fortune

  • how does this compare to the Yoga Pro 7i (14", Gen 9)?

    with the below specs:
Intel 125H Processor (E-cores up to 3.60 GHz P-cores up to 4.50 GHz)
    Display 14.5" 3K (3072 x 1920), IPS, Glare, Touch, 100%DCI-P3, 400 nits, 120Hz, Glass

    • Have a friend with the Yoga Pro 7i, and the Intel features significantly poorer battery life under tasks, with significant fan noise as a result of its increased power consumption

I have this AMD laptop, and its far superior

Also are you sure It's IPS? My friend has the OLED version

      • Yeah that's what is in the specs - works out about the same price from the other ozb deal that's running atm
Tempted to gamble with the Xiaoxin Pro 14 2024

I'd rather quieter and better battery life vs loud fan.

        What's better IPS or oled?

        • -1

          What's better IPS or oled?

          Oled

          • @xoom: thanks - guess it's just touch vs non touch
            i5 vs ryzen
            aliexpress warranty vs local warranty….

        • Where is this deal?

      • I have one with that exact screen and it's IPS. Not quite OLED levels but a great panel.

  • Will this be good for video editing for YouTube? Or any recommendations on a mid range/budgetish laptop? TIA

  • Also just to clarify OP, this is the 8845H, not the HS. Functionally no different, as both have a TDP of 63W and are the same silicon.

    • Thank you. Updated.

  • Any similar deal for 16 inch version? Thanks

  • Where does the Xiaoxin Pro series rank? Is it better than the Legion and ideapad series?

    • From the looks of the IO it is an Ideapad Pro 5.
      https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-5/len…

      • so why is it called Xiaoxin? Is it an international model name or something??

        • +3

It's basically the chinese market brand-name for the Ideapad line from what I understand.

    • looks like exatcly the same, and the price is not much different, apart from 16GB vs 32GB, am I missing something? quite confuse. thank you

      • +1

The differences are that the Ideapad Pro 5 has a 6GB RTX 3050 for graphics and the HS variant of the CPU, and the Xiaoxin has 32GB of ram, which due to it (likely) being soldered in these versions is not possible on the Australian version.

So it becomes a toss-up between better graphical performance and more ram. I'm normally one to lean towards a strictly onboard graphics machine for weight and battery reason, but I have actually been very impressed with the battery on my Ideapad 7 Pro X with a 6800hs and a 4GB 3050.

        • Thank you

        • Seems like the Xiaoxin has a 500nits and the Ideapad has 400nits.

        • That's not a fair comparison

Ideapad Pro 5 is much larger with 16" screen while this one is 14"

Also Ideapad weighs 2kg and this one weighs 1.47kg

          • @Homr: The Ideapad Pro 5 I linked above is a 14" and weighs from 1.46kg

            https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-5/len…

Whilst there is also a 16" model, that is not what is being discussed here.

            • @witheredcouch: ohh yeh, is there an option to add 32gb from your link? I can't seem to find it.

              • @Homr: No there isn't, that is what we were discussing above. The Australian stock Ideapad Pro 5 has dedicated graphics (RTX3050 6GB) but only 16GB ram, whereas the Xiaoxin has onboard graphics and 32GB ram (and as RubenM pointed out a 100 nit brighter screen).

                • @witheredcouch: ahh right. What a shame, 32gb with 3050gtx in 14" screen for under 1.4k will be an awesome combo deal

I guess the tradeoff will between DGPU with 16gb or IGPU with 32gb.

I bought HP Firefly Zbook and having bugers remorse.

                  https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/822417

This deal here has better screen and faster ram and probably all round better quality because its lenovo.

  • Damn good specs, but at this price, I wouldn't touch a laptop that doesn't come with a local warranty. Too much of risk.

  • +2

This deal is super tempting, but just checking the local lenovo site, you can get the similar device but with slower/less ram (16gb/6400) for $1569, but it would have a rtx 3050-6GB and local warranty…hmmmmm decisions, decisions.

    https://www.lenovo.com/au/en/configurator/cto/index.html?bun…

    • At 2880 x 1800 resolution, a RTX3050-6G wouldn't be very useful in gaming… The ram is soldered on board so you wouldn't be able to easily upgrade afterwards, which makes 32G more appealing imo.

      • ye, this is a very use case scenario situation. the 3050 is 55% better effective 3D performance if you believe the cpu/gpu comparisons sites like user benchmark. i wouldnt really game on these, but the thought it nice, which is also why i added the local warranty point.

    • +1

I'm at the same boat, looks like better get it locally, I have many bad experiences with AE.
