  • Do these expire?

    • From their FAQ:

"Powercards will expire 12 months from the last in-venue use date, at which time any unused balance and Powertickets will be forfeited. App reloads do not count towards extending your Powercard expiry."

Basically you need to play at least one game every 12 months.

      • That's a bit rough hey! Most gift card type things have gone away from expiry dates… Or at least gone to really long expiry like 5 years or something

        • surely you go to timezone at least once a year?

        • +1

Yep, gift cards in Australia must have a minimum of three years' expiry by law.

This could indeed be seen as a way of sidestepping that rule.

          • @space cadet: Powercards aren't gift cards though. They're prepaid value cards like public transport cards, Starbucks cards, etc.

  • +4

same ratio as the $80 for $200 credit

    • +4

True. However the $80 for $200 credit deal has to be redeemed in-store by end of April, whereas this deal by OP is available online. Useful for those who don't live near a Timezone and only visit during holidays to other places.

    • They keep brining so many offers recently. Short on cashflow?

  • 🤦🏻‍♂️ wait so kingpin and timezone share the same card / credit on accounts?

    • I'm confused too.

      • +1

timezone kingpin zone bowling all owned by the same company

    • +1

Yes they do, share credits and tickets!

      • So you can use Kingpin card in any other Timezone shop and vice versa?

        • +2

yeah they all work at each other

    • I use my card at both Timezone and Kingpin and the TZ app works for Kingpin cards

  • Do they have Pinnies and Spacies at Timezone?

    • My local has 1 pinnie

  • -3

How long until this place goes into administration? I call within the next 12 months.

    • +3

      Based on what?

It's owned by Quadrant Private Equity who are looking to sell it but that is the nature of private equity. From all accounts it is a profitable business.

    • +2

Lol not anytime soon mate, do u know how many skidmarks beg their parents to bring them to timezone?

    • +1

People are spending hundreds to leave with nothing, and to you thats a sign of a failing business?

  • Can you use a TCN Him gift card which is eligible with Timezone to make the purchase?

    • just tried looks like the "load up" option only accept credit card, I think the only GC that might work is Ultimate GC (which has a debit card number)

  • +5

I hope everyone had caught into the fact that they have been increasing the price of games over the past couple of years so with deals like this they are just making as much money as they were ~2 years ago.

    • +2

      This is happening everywhere mate.

    • Feel like I get better value from the pokies

      • +7

Sometimes it seems like this is the pokies. Coin dozer in particular, people lined up dropping coins.

        • +1

You have to wait in the shadows for those people to run out of credits and then jump on and collect the cards. At least that’s what I observed on the Gold Coast TC last week.

Even if you get $200 credit you will be lucky to get a prize worth $20 once all those tickets are redeemed.

    • yeah i have noticed that but with these deals its still effectively just as cheap as it was many years ago so its still fine tbh

  • Nice find. Plus 20% off on KingPin GC at Costco

    • +1

      Can't redeem those online unfortunately

    • I'm not sure why everyone keeps mentioning this, are these cards still available as I've checked with multiple Costco stores and they don't exist anymore (Discontinued end of 2023 from what I see).
      Has anyone bought one recently?

      • yes, bought one last week from Ipswich Costco.
as @rain-e mentioned, may not work with this deal

        • yeah i checked lidcombe and definitely not there, might try the more obsure nsw locations

          • @Jollystacker: I've been checking Lidcombe and Marsden Park every time I go and haven't seen these cards for like a year at this point

            • +1

@rain-e: ok i will head to lake macquarie and let you know and maybe casula another time since they are about the same for me since i am in the middle ish

        • Oh that's interesting, would you possibly have a receipt that has an item number/product code for it by any chance?
Can't find it online and the stores I call can't find it either (even went into one and checked last week)

  • Is this vfor VIC Timezones? Because my Knox City Timezone card isn't compatible with Eatland Timezone card.

    • Maybe because it’s “Eatland” LOL

    • +1

Tempers weird! I’ve used my Knox city card at Clayton, fountain gate, high point, bray room and forest hill and all fine

  • Plan to take my son to timezone Parra these school holidays. I haven't been since 2005 so can I take advantage of this?

    • For sure! But you’ll need a physical power card to register on your account before you can reload.

Make sure to use also redeem the $21 credit for $1 deal too

      • thanks mate! got a card last night and now loaded! :D
will do the $1 deal too

stack with this deal? since the reload needs to be online and its in the form of a debit/credit card, the ultimate him card should work for the reload. Selecting the online option on the ultimate card website shows that their card works with kingpin online.

    • Woolies also has 20x rewards points cashback on ultimate him, her, teen gift cards which is equivalent of 10%.

      • i tried to do it online but it didnt work with the ultimate, i knew the tcn wouldnt work because the card works differently so have to go in store anyways

  • +1

it would be alright if kingpin was any good. i find its mostly super old games ( especially the racing games ) and its basically gambling games of chance

  • +2

Smh gonna hit platinum at this rate

    • Do you need to spend like $1k to maintain platinum or a lifetime? Thanks

      • Lifetime, although platinum barely has any extra benefits compared to gold or even elite blue tbh

        • Ah right, correct 😜

  • -1

    Nice

  • Ok. So signed up. Only option when clicking 'load up" is 'add powercard'. Where do you purchase credits?

  • Its working now, able to load up $100 and get $250

  • Can I used this powercard credit to booking bowling games?

  • where’s the best timezone / kingpin in sydney?

    • +2

Top Ryde and Haymarket for TZ in my opinion.

      • I haven't been to Top Ryde before, but Haymarket TZ I agree with

  • Mine doesn't seem to be working at the moment; could it because I'm trying to pay with an Ultimate gift card?

    • +1

Can confirm I cannot pay via ultimate GC too
      Works with my credit card
I believe the merchant might be different when load online

      • +1

Thanks! Guess it's the $80 for $200 credit offer at Timezone for me then!

  • Can anyone confirm if the credits can be used for Bowling? I called Kingpin and the said it can only be used for Arcade games which I am not very much interested in. Mainly interested in Bowling.

    • Can't be used for bowling

  • How do I get a powercard if I don't have a physical one?

    • You don't; you have to get a physical one

  • We cannot add the card to your account. If you feel this is an error, please contact our Fun Squad and we will assist you.

I keep getting this error, can't seem to load any digital or physical cards through the kingpin site?

    • +1

I got a card from timezone and had a similar issue. Realised the card is useless unless you load something on it in store first.

      • Odd, we do have some credit on it already, maybe I'll get a new card.

        • Might be a different issue but worth a shot I guess.

        • Maybe add the card through the Timezone app or website first? Then login through Kingpin and reload.

          • @stan86: Just got it to work, I had to log in with the same email address as the one used in Timezone! Thanks OP!

            • +1

@adamm12: Thank you! I’d been trying to get mine to work.. I’d signed in with my mobile not my email and wouldn’t work. Sorted now. Cheers!

  • +1

Just got $250 added to my Timezone card :)

  • Can you use this to buy bowling games or just for arcade games?

  • IT wasn't working with phone. But when I logged on to my laptop. It went through smoothly, no issues whatsoever..

  • -1

Website doesn't work neither with mobile nor desktop. False marketing / advertising.

  • Can two people share the same card at the time game/time?

    • +1

Yes, just swipe the same card twice. We tried this to begin with but realised we like to play different games so didn’t work for us so we have two cards.

  • just about to load up.
first time doing it as we are in WA

site says load $100 +150 bonus,

Am I gonna get $250 credit?

It's not really clear even when i got through the checkout proceedure.

    Thanks Oz community

    • Yeah that’s the one you choose :)
