Not sure if there any other sites that come close to iHerb in terms of range of international supplement brands at good prices

Generally I'm happy to pay full price let alone 24% off my entire cart

Sort of, not as good as what they used to be. I have items that I bought for $4.5 and is now $20
Or another one that used to be $32 and is $62 now. I would say it is slightly better but that's it.

        • Yeah the prices suck compared to what they were. I'd almost rather boycott them on principle.

            • @tonester: It can for sure, but you're seemingly one of the very few / only person with a different view and in the examples I've seen, it's anything from 50% to 80% more expensive since they jacked the prices for COVID and they never came down.

I looked into one of your examples out of curiosity."Natrol, Melatonin, Time Release, 3 mg" where you said "mine were $13.62 last September, now $15.64".indicating that you think it's a modest increase which it is to be fair. But both periods of time there had already been inflated drastically prior..

However in September 2018 they were: "Thanks, bought 3x Natrol, Melatonin, Time Release, 3 mg, 100 Tablets for AU$24.61 delivered"
It probably doesn't depend.. iHerb jacks! Lol…

That's $8.20 a bottle so it's almost double what it was at the price today and that was delivered!

I noticed you've commented on a lot of posts implying that they're not more expensive. Are you associated by any chance?

              • @mrbargainz:

That's $8.20 a bottle so it's almost double what it was at the price today and that was delivered!

that’s over 6 years - others were claiming that prices had doubled over a couple of months or years

                • @tonester: They might have just been reordering again or something and only noticed. The prices from iHerb skyrocketed during COVID and never came down. Even within the last few years things have gone up as well though.

Annoying - the 24% comes off before the free-shipping theshhold, so you have to spend $80 AFTER the discount to get free shipping.

  • Any quality multivitamin that isn't available in CW?

    • +2

Sort by "Best Sellers" and the top brands are fairly well known, although it has to be said that a lot of multivitamins are a bit overkill imo. Even the top brands like Thorne, Life Extension are overdosing things like Chromium, B vitamins etc

The Cenovis one off Amazon is a good smaller dose one but ultimately we should aim to try and get most of it from food and then a few supplements here and there (e.g. Vitamin D3+K2, magnesium, fish oil, etc)

      • I remember Thorne has an article about why the overdose. Is that a whole lot of hooey too?

    • NOW Foods - Adam Multivitamin

  • What is everyone else usually getting from iHerb? Want to buy some melatonin, but don't have enough for free shipping.

    • +1

Few things I regularly get from iHerb…. Magnesium, Vitamin D3+K2, Caffeine, Collagen

      • Does any of these work? Found any improvement while taking Mag or D3+K2?

        • If you are deficient or not getting them naturally, yes it will work to help support your body function properly

If you are getting enough naturally through diet and lifestyle, probably won't do much for you.

          🤣🤣

        • Cooper Howard, obv. But apparently you just dig him up, no weird moon dance involved.

    • Melatonin, cereal (nature's path) and snack bars (California gold) that aren't stocked domestically.

    • Sulphur soap and Jason's anti dandruff shampoo - the only thing that has ever kicked my psoriasis.

Used to get Bob's Red Mill gf flours/cereals from there but now they're cheaper via Amazon.

  • Lions Mane, Ashwagandha, Berberine, Magnesium and those snack bars someone recommended

I paid $60 for one container of Lion's Mane here locally alone, this is a good deal!

  • +1

This range is absolutely staggering, too much for a new customer.
Any recommendations beyond what's already mentioned? How best to save money ordering here instead of locally?

    • +2

Basically you can get the most popular brands internationally at a good price for Australian import, and then also with the discount from this deal

They aren't necessarily the cheapest, you can go to Woolworths or a chemist to try and get something cheaper, but just remember that when you pay less you will get something lower quality basically everytime with supplements.

The most popular international brands are popular because they are cleaner, have better dosages and efficacy, or they have better formulations (e.g. D3 combined with K2, or better B-vitamin complexes)

Although if you are confused about all of the supplements that everyone is mentioning it might be worth looking into all of this before making a purchase. That being said, the statistics show that a large percentage of the population is deficient in vitamin D and magnesium so that could be a good start.

      • Great response thanks.
I ended up getting Vit D and Cod Liver Oil, the vit D especially is dosed much higher and cheaper than locally.
Threw in some high protein cereals we don't have here and some skincare in as well. Not great pricing on the skincare but pretty close with the 24% off.
