        • +1

    • +2

thats okay, your neg vote is still on hold too

    • voted! thanks OP :~

  • Is this 1pm EST?

    • -1

      That is correct.

  • -1

Good seller because: They state clearly how much exactly the stock is - 1000.

No point having great deal with 10 codes to grab.

    +1

    • Just so you guys know I have revoked my vote. No way 1000 sold in split seconds.

  • Let's see how your servers hold up, shall we?

  • +1

Supposedly .gov.au addresses are not real email addresses :(

  • -1

    Only 1 per customer ?

    • +1

      From the item description:

NOTE: PLEASE ALLOW UP TO 24 HOURS TO RECEIVE YOUR iTUNES CODE VIA EMAIL! MOST CARDS WILL BE DELIVERED THE SAME DAY. - LIMITED TO ONE CARD PER CUSTOMER, NO MULTIPLE ACCOUNT SIGN UPS ACCEPTED.

      • Sunobiatch, I should have read that earlier.
        Hopes are now down.

  • +1

    Fail.

  • Hmm..

  • "BECAUSE IT'S NOT 1PM YET - COME BACK LATER!"
    Yes it is…

  • +1

    nothing yet …
    edit: got one :)

  • 1pm now

  • gone :s

  • +1

Bullshit… it got sold out as soon as it struck 1… Bloody hell. how misleading is that..!!!

  • +1

    Got it, thanks!

  • +1

    Sold out in 1 min?……..humm

    • I still see the Add to Cart button..

      • How can that be…. I was refreshing the page since 1:00pm ….only after 1:02 it showed the message 'Item no longer available'.

  • got one! no problems with server at all. cheers

    http://www.esold.com.au/itunes-20-00-gift-card-code-via-e-ma…

  • +5

    sold out?

1000 in 3 minutes 1 per person? seriously?

  • +2

I was refreshing since 12:55, nothing, then 1:02 and the page went offline saying it had sold out.

    • -2

spacenoddle, was this your review on the website?

"Blatant false advertising. Website states "sale starts 1pm today" and yet when I get on at 12:55 they've already sold out.
I won't be back on esold again!!!!"

  • +2

damn that was quick, i got mine by a whisker i reckon!

    • -1

I probably would have but the system didn't like the first 4 digits of my CC.. even though it was right. The 10 seconds it took to check and retype it and I missed it.

  • +2

Go back to the front page and click the iTunes card picture.

    Got one, thanks OP.

EDIT: wow, seems they're all gone…

    • +2

That's what I did too. I was pressing F5 but it didn't show up.
So went back to the front page and clicked the picture again and it worked.

  • +2

    got one!

  • +1

I just ordered mine, and paid via Paypal.

Got confirmation email, now awaiting the coupon email.

  • -1

sold out by 1:02… mustve had about 10 cards

  • +2

    Got one. Thanks !!!

  • hey rep. did you have just one in stock?? next time post a deal only if you have enough stock..

    • clearly the site said 1000

      • +3

and clearly that was bull shit.

  • +3

Your site demands 16 digits for an AMEX card and 3 digits for it's CCV code.
Amex cards have a 15 digit card number and 4 digit verification code.

Not in stock at 1pm, deal went live some minutes after and thanks to the shenanigans it was sold out by the time I entered another card's details.

  • +1

    Got one, too.

  • +3

Lol Sold Out in a minute. No way they had 1000 nos in Stock :P

  • +1

    Got one :-)

  • +2

    Nope sold out @ 1:04

  • +1

true, got one here. no probs with website, went smooth…

  • Missed it due to e-mail confirmation. WTF?!

  • +1

got one as well ;) gotta be fast damn

  • +2

Like a lot of you, nothing, refresh, nothing, refresh, nothing, refresh, in stock, add to cart, then can’t check out no stock. farked.

  • +1

    got it one. thanks :)))

  • bullshit… this website only need our email to subscribe. dodgy

  • i Got one.

  • +3

    "WILL SELL OUT FAST!"

Understatement of the year - my checkout failed. It was SOLD OUT before it even started. There is no way they could have sold 1000 in that time. I was already even logged in.

  • ridiculous. SOLD OUT.
probably only had 1 in stock.

you guys are going to get a huge backlash from us

  • lol

sold quicker than the Pentax Q's. I thought seeing the deal 5 mins in would be a good chance.

  • +2

    hahaha.. got one :)

  • +3

Yeah how about you delete my email and personal info now. Very clever scam to get a ton of email addresses that you can later spam with promotions like this one.

  • -1

Got one. Thanks OP. Transaction was a smooth as silk.

  • +1

so apple is practically giving away $1 extra dollar to developers.. and probably $1 to the store for each card sold.

$20X0.7= $14 payment to developers. Card cost $13

Maybe it was snapped up by the App developers who simply bought their own app and be $1 ahead.

    • while in theory it works, the time the devs would need to spend orchestrating such a thing would cost them more than they could earn in a legitimate job

  • +1

    Sale Fail.

  • +1

Had 1 in the cart sold out before I could pay

  • +2

hmm.. awfully fast sell out for 1k cards..

    • +3

      very suspicious

  • REP IS DISAPPEAR HAHAHA

  • +2

    Worse the COD !

  • -7

Wow.. some people are really bitter about this lol

If you had signed up, and been logged in waiting with a backup credit card ready like I did you would be fine, I tired an amex and then there was a glitch with the CCV as it would only allow you to enter 3 digits so I switched to another card and it worked fine :P

Don't blame the site if you aren't prepared.

As blunt as this is going to sound:
The site didn't crash, it didn't bog down like catch of the day does when they do stunts (like this), if you didn't get one you didn't prepare or you weren't fast enough plain and simple.

  • +1

Sale got cancelled as I was in the final stages of the transaction at 1:02pm.

    I call shenanigans.

  • -1

Was emailed out to our database too - sold out in around 2 minutes. Quite a lot of people got one including people here, sorry we can't satisfy everyone but that is the nature of these limited stock sales unfortunately. Thanks to those that understand and ENJOY THE CARDS THOSE THAT WERE LUCKY :)

    • +5

There is no option to delete my account and personal information on your webpage. You've run a promotion, grifted a ton of peoples personal info, and left no way for those people to remove that information from your databases.

      • +3

        this.
HOW DO I DELETE MY ACCOUNT, NOT EDIT – DELETE!!!!! MY ACCOUNT.
IF I GET ONE BIT OF SPAM MAIL FROM YOU I WILL NOW BE SUPER PISSED.

    • +2

2 MINS??????? It wasn't available for that long. Like a lot of us, already logged in, kept refreshing page until it finally showed as available, added to cart straight away, straight to checkout, and it wouldn't let it proceed. My whole process available and denied within 15 seconds.

    • +7

I find it EXTREMELY unlikely you sold 1000 in 2 mins. I smell BS!

  • -7

Check above "neggers" - plenty of people here got one. I checked the invoicing and the last card was sold at 1:04pm (this is when we got our last PayPal IPN payment anyway). We told you guys there were only 1000 cards, we also have 600,000 users on our database. We can easily clear these cards to our subscribers.

I think due to the amount of people who don't seem to accept or understand a limited stock quick sale and post bad comments here the big mistake we made was to graciously tip off OzBargain users to the sale.

Anyway grats to everyone that got one, sorry to those that didn't - we'll happily stock 50,000 cards if we can get the supply but we can't manufacture more from nothing as much as we'd like. Have a great day all :)

    • +5

mate. it showed me sold out at 1.01 pm.. so pls stop ur bullshit..

    • +4

Fix your site re: Amex cards.
I missed out because your dodgy payment processing page.
Either that or don't advertise that you accept Amex cards.

    • +6

Agreed, a mistake to make this post. If you already have a mailing list of 600,000 and only offering an item 1/600th of existing members can possibly purchase; why decrease the chances exiting loyal customers already have and invite others (a rabid community at that) to more than likely be disappointed?

    • +6

I understand 'limited stock' quite well… but ESold isn't COTD and I've seen 1000 items on COTD last longer than 2 minutes. You guys don't have the capactity or reach for that.

    • +3

Your ignored my questions about how to delete my account and personal info from your database. How do I do it?

Would you like me to check with the australian privacy commissioner and the ACCC about the legality of you giving us no way to remove our personal information from your database?

      • +1

The Privacy Act only applies to businesses with a turn over of $3M a year.. Esold might not come under that threshold.

There is nothing that I can see under the National privacy principles which requires them to give you an option to delete your personal information. You do have the opportunity to request them to provide the information they have about you and correct errors though.

  • Hey Cooni

Rep's 600,000 users have an amex with 16 dig number..!!!

  • Wow. I actually jumped on the website at exactly 12pm here in Birsbane (1pm EST) and the site loaded fine but said no stock.

    Wtf.

  • -3

What you don't seem to be acknowledging is that people posting above you DID get cards. If we had one or none as claimed how is this so? Anyway… again, grats to those that got them, there are 1000 happy iTunes buyers out there. Have a nice day all, I am out for now…

    • +3

Answer my question, how do I delete my account.

    • +3

Very few people are claiming this. We are claiming you didn't have 1000 items. Sure some people would have gotten them, but looks like more peopel in here missed out then got them who were trying at 1pm.

    • +2

      I don't doubt you had some… I do doubt you had 1000.

    • +1

if i was you i wouldn't worry about the 1000(if they are 1000) happy customers, i would worry about the >1000 unhappy and ungry ones!

  • This sounds just like the nexus sale the other day.

  • Got my code already! Thanks!

  • this is UNPOSSIBLE for 1,000 cards to be sold out in ~3 minutes

  • As expected. Not worth it . All 1 minute deals or 1 hour deals should be banned here.

  • +2

I thought it was 1:00pm EST which is totally different from 1:00pm ESDT. I logged on the web at 1:04pm ESDT and found it has been sold out. Then I read the comments above and it says 1:00pm EST. So I logged in again at 2:00PM ESDT. And no surprise, it has been sold out. What is the real time you guys talking about? Can you fix the time next time? Thanks.

    • -1

It was 1pm Melbourne time. Sorry this was not clear certainly I accept that 100% in retrospect. Is there a DST difference at the moment between Eastern states? If so, that's made it an issue for sure.

As requested will certainly specify the time zone etc next time no problem.
