  • I see why they get big crowds now.

Bulldogs get decent crowds but they're not exactly Collingwood or Richmond et al either

Crowds in Victoria are inflated because you can walk up and get a general admin ticket at the gate for $25 to just about any game.

Go to the footy in any other state and you’ll be lucky to get change from $50.

      • Premiership wing ticket at Optus to watch WCE lose costs $190 but you get the honour of paying $25 for 2 beers in paper cups.

        • Yikes. And still they're packing them in, presumably with season ticket holders mainly?

          • @Igaf: Don’t know but yes , almost 50 thousand attended to watch the wooden spooners lose to wooden spoon hopefuls , StKilda.

Wtf, you're saying it like it's a bad thing. Should Victorian clubs raise ticket prices because it's too affordable and are "inflating" crowd numbers?!

        • +1

Well yeah in a roundabout way it is a bad thing. The clubs giving away $25 tickets don’t have enough supporters to fund their operations and rely on handouts from the league. The sport as a whole would be healthier if it removed north, st kilda and the bulldogs.

Nothing better than watching Friday Night Footy at Marvel Stadium.

Agree, it's a great night out for footy fans.

I’d argue Friday night at the G is better. But agreed on the ‘great night out’.

      • Marvel's smaller size and roof adds atmosphere for FNF I reckon. Might depend on where you sit but because the G is so expansive, when play is furthest away from you you need to look at the big screens.
