Oh I do like this smaller compact cases. When I do it all over again, I will probably get something similar to this rather than the Intel Extreme Beast Canyon I have now. I wasn't as familiar with what's out there when I bought the Intel… Its been great but CPU tends to thermal throttle and it lacks a bit of customisation. Plus I wished I put a 3070 in it rather than a 3060. Covid times and everything was expensive….

    PS
The way its designed, its difficult to get to the CPU so haven't checked if it needs more thermal paste. Intel are known for doing a crap job applying it. Something like this would make it a lot easier.

nice itx build with some serious gaming power, I would have bought this instead if I hadn't just recently purchased another 4080 super deal.
Always been attracted to itx builds.

      This isn't an ITX build.

Seems strange to me to couple a bottom end last-gen AM5 chip with a 4080 Super, but it otherwise looks like a solid rig. This is a lovely little case from Jonsbo too - one of my favourite case manufacturers (got all my main rigs in a Jonsbo case - D41 Mesh, D31 Mesh and a VR3).

    • Easy enough to upgrade with the regular cheap cpu sales from aliexpress.

      Good point though

      • Which aliexpess store do you go to if i may ask? Thanks in advance

I've mostly bought from SZ CPU Store, and had good (and fast) experiences.

Been awhile since ive personally grabbed one but theres been quite a few cpu deals on here from aliexpress. Can only be posted here if the store has a high rating so theyre usually (not always) pretty decent

Can always have a flick theough past deals and see what stores they were from

Based on reviews, there is little performance uplift with the new 9600X, so price wise it makes alot more sense to go with a 7XXX series cpu in the current market. CPU mattersless at higher res, so using this at 4k say, upgrading the cpu doesn't do much for actual performance since it's usually going to be gpu bound.

      • Would it be beneficial to use to the 78003DX with this system? It's been a while since I've bought or built a new computer (9 years lol) but everything I've read in the last few months points to that as the best gaming CPU to get at the moment. Gaming will be about 80% of my usage..

def not worth the extra price for that (9600X) "upgrade part" .. it's also dubious to go with 7800x3d when you have to pay $330 for the pleasure of it .. at the pc part picker pricing there's a $260 difference between what OP's listed and the cheapest X3D so if they had a $250 uplift then it'd make sense… but i guess that's where Gala and other SI's make a bit in the margins when you pick that upgrade over the base that's offered.

  • A more budget build with the Dark Sentry colour scheme would be nice.

The below budget option is still decent though:

PC PartPicker includes a 2tb drive. The unit mentions a 1tb drive. You might want to update that.

I really like this deal bros, seems like a good one. Is there any real weakness to this setup that people can see?

I'm a bit worried about thermals since the case is pretty small but I love the case so much, also the 4080 is a bit overkill for what i need, a 4070super would be more up my alley. But I am considering this

  • I've got some of the same thoughts as yourself, I've been following the desks on OZB for a while now, and this one is the closest I've come to pulling the trigger.. But part of me wants to wait for the new 50 series to see what happens…. and I'm in no rush.
