Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 5G 128GB / 8GB $534 + $5 Shipping @ The Good Guys via eBay

280
SAVETHG

Not the shiniest and newest model (released 2022), but comes with 5G connectivity and supports the latest One UI update. This is about $300 less than Tab S9 which is currently priced at $800+ for the wifi model.

1600 x 2560 pixels, 16:10 ratio (~274 ppi density) with TFT panel
Corning Gorilla Glass 5
Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm)
128GB 8GB RAM
Li-Po 8000 mAh Battery with 45 watt fast charging
Samsung S-Pen included
Fingerprint reader (on side)

The Tab S9 however has a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (4 nm) and a nicer looking Dynamic AMOLED panel with HDR10+ support. That's basically the main difference, so you'll have to decide whether those 2 extra features are worth paying a few hundred bucks for.

Spec wise, this is better than the Tab S9 FE, since the Snapdragon processor is better than the Exynos 1380, & it has 2 extra gigs of RAM, and the display is also higher resolution & higher framerate.

Excludes: QLD Far North, WA Remote

After owning an AMOLED Screen Tablet (Tab S9), I can't go back to a TFT Panel.

I think the s8+ with amoled is much much better and well worth the +$50

      • Also loses the 5G for anyone that needs it.

      • Definitely go with bigger screen.

    • Pity no ultra on sale.

    • Thanks got the 9+

  • Can someone tell me what drug Samsung is on thinking they can sell a 2 years old tablet for $500?

      Sold by The Good Guys.

I'm assuming The Good Guys found a bunch of old stock and started listing them at their eBay Store.

  • Good deal for a $599 for 12.4" AMOLED tablet!

Do not buy this node, Sd8g1 is Samsung (think exynos) and not TSMC so you get overheat + throttling issues and significantly reduced battery.

Qualcomm moved back to TSMC on Sd8g1+ onwards.

    • Just googled and it seems your correct. Very sad as I was about to grab one!

      • It's probs more relevant for smartphones where the batteries are smaller. You wouldn't notice much if you didn't know.

        • It absolutely is not.
Owned the Galaxy Tab S8 upgraded to Tab S9 and absolutely everything is faster smoother, and much longer battery life.

        • For the battery reduction yes, the tablet size makes up for some of it (it's still reduced, but not all the way down to like 5-6hour SoT like the 8G1 phones) , but for the throttling issue no, you will get random throttle + lagspikes on 8G1 regardless.

This, S8+ or Lenovo Xiaoxin Pro Pad 12.7 2025? I am wanting to buy a decent tablet for everyday use (no gaming).

I'd go with Samsung for 4 years updates, Lenovo you will be lucky to get one

      • Android you can install apk yourself. I reckon if you can get xiaoxin $350 with 256g version it's good.

        • Apps yes but updates no.
