  • Thanks for the heads up about this deal. Just what I was looking for.

  • Thanks OP.

Correct link. These are quite a good drive. Got some GoFlex ones and they click like they're about to fail (2 already). These HP ones have vents all over the top surface. Comes with simple Windows back up software.

    • whats brand for the internal drive inside?

  • It still wants delivery charges thou.

    • +1

Shipping discount is applied at checkout.

      • Are You Sure?

I am still seeing $97 just befire i commit my payment method.

        • yes the shipping is discounted at checkout, after you confirm payment method BUT before you actually commit to pay.
$89 delivered is great, thanks OP

        • Thanks Ordered one. Also used Wish-card so got another 5% off.

  • Good price ! Thanks !

  • what drive is inside?

  • +2

The XMASEDM20 voucher can only be used once and even if you don't complete the purchase it expires. I put it in, then kept looking around the site. When I went to checkout the voucher 'had been used'.

Just use a different browser solves that.

  • Does anyone know if these are MAC compatible?

    • As in Apple Mac?

      Yes.

    • they are likely to be NTFS formatted out of the box. so depending on your Mac setup, may need reformatting.

  • good find OP, bought 1

  • Price match less 5% at officeworks will be $84.55.

Should also mention these are not usb powered.

    • +3

      3.5" = AC powered
      2.5" = USB powered

    • officeworks doesn't retail this drive

  • Does anyone know if this can be taken apart and used as an internal HDD?

  • good for WII U?

    Delivery is not free

    • +1

      Yes it is……..
      See above

    • Delivery is free. You just need to proceed to the next step and the shipping charge is removed.

Free delivery when spend over $50 - Eligible items will display the text "Small Items", "Standard Items" or "Free Delivery - AU Small" in the Delivery Type field on the Specification tab. This one says Delivery Type - Standard Items! (http://www.bigw.com.au/Offer/FreeDeliverySelectedItems)

    • Apologies, you do have to go to the very last step before payment for the shipping fee to be waived.

  • +1

Can't believe its taking this long to break the $50/GB barrier

    • Did you mean TB?

    • It broke that barrier easily before the Thailand floods.
Just taking three forevers to get back to those prices.

  • good deal! i bought it thx ! paid AUD89.00 inc Delivery

  • If we wait till 6th for the price to drop till $89 will the discount still work to make it $69 ?

    • No - discount code is only for purchases $100 or more. Plus OP says promo code expires tomorrow anyway.

  • good find OP, bought 1

  • Noob question - I presume this needs power to operate and is not USB powered. Right?

  • HP Brand are reliable but this model has a slower transfer rate, than other usb 3.0 2GB externals.
Also you may have a problem loading 2 of these on to a usb 3.0 HUB like I did. (one at a time only)

  • Thanks, bought 1. Will take it apart for use in my NAS. I have an old 320GB sitting unused, will put that one in the HP enclosure. For $89, not bad for a 2TB drive and a USB 3.0 enclosure!

  • +1

D: says sold out online sob sob sob

  • Seagate usb 3.0 2TB new Model with blue light located close to the back is very fast transfering files.
WD MyBook 3.0 2TB returned it, to slow for the high price.

  • Damn sold out and there is no Big W near where I live

  • A tad off topic (well topic related) I'm looking for an external HD (I'm presuming that's what I'm looking for?) so I can just put movies into and put it in the usb of my wdtv player (it has no hard drive). What would u guys recommend?

    • +5

I would have to recommend this

      • LOL

Although based on your knowledge, i suspect a smaller drive will suffice. Unless money is no issue (but you cant get alot cheaper than this atm)

    • or you could get a big USB stick.

  • Got mine today at BigW Wagga Wagga.
Shelf still had $108, but scanned $89.

There is probably 5 more on the shelf.

Checked out OW first, but they only had the 1GB model, for $79.

  • Its online now. Check it out.

  • it says no buy online and no online buyout, anyone has the same problem?

  • Its no longer available for online orders only direct from stores of whatever stock they have left i was told by lady at desk. Very quite drive i think its a 5400rpm drive inside though can anyone confirm.

  • big w has $10 off every $100 tonight.

spend an extra $11 on something else and get $10 off sounds good

    • Yes i was going to do same thing but could with this offer doesnt allow online.

    • Where does it say this and when does this start/finish? If I purchase two of these this afternoon, will the $10 off $100 offer apply?

Sorry for the barrage of questions.
      Thanks.

  • Stupid question how do you know what speed or drive you got is there a software to find out or you have to manually crack it open?

  • just called in and put one on laybuy for tonight, NICE BUY, with the 10$ off every $100 tonight, i m thinking of getting another one~

    • or a nerfgun

  • Be a brave Ozbee…. rip the thing open and tell us the exact make and model of hard drive it is, speed etc.

I think/maybe this is the same item:

    Go on..be brave!

  • Thanks OP. Got one early today in Capalaba, Bris.

  • $10 off 100 doesn't appear online anywhere that I can see?

  • nothing for me.. sold out!

  • +1

Grabbed the HD and an enormous box of washing powder to get over $100.
No Paywave for ING goodness, but a great deal all round thanks OP.

  • Thanks for posting about the $10 off. Makes this HDD $79! Just got mine, good stuff.

  • is it safe to do a quick format on this? it looks to be already formatted but I want to remove the HP bloatware.

    • sure safe to format but you might as well save time and just delete it.

  • just get one tonight, in bigw Warrawong. there is only one left, hurry up

  • Picked one up last night from Big W Taigum in Bris. There were none on the shelf so I asked one of the staff and she went out back and grabbed "the last one". It still had sticker on there saying hold for John (staff) till Saturday. I think John won't be too pleased..

The drive works well so far, thanks OP.

  • Just picked one up from the Mount Ommaney store in Brisbane. There was still one left on the shelf.

  • +1

How nice of them to get them back in stock online the day after the sale ended. I'm sure that's a complete coincidence, and not at all about misleading advertising.
