    • Cool, 9 vote downs with zero justification. You guys are awesome.

      • hmmmm… i know, i know dont feed the trolls…

but as i hate it when people do it to me,

basically i think 9 people believe that 3d is not a redundant technology…
its really in its infancy, it does have a use specially now with it becoming more mainstream… id almost consider 3d simular from a move from black and white to colour.

just take a while to pick up momentum as its such a big jump from existing technologies…

im sure DVDs took a while as well for them to come down in price and widley accepted… bluray is now only becoming as popular as DVDs and the only reason we have a player is because it came with the PS3 that was reasonably priced…

3D really isn't new any more, it can't keep hiding behind that.

Two and half years ago Channel 9 aired the State of Origin in 3D. The media proclaimed it was going to be the point where public interest in 3D finally took off and became mainstream…didn't happen. I doubt it ever will.

Btw, just because I have an opinion doesn't mean I'm "trolling".

        • 3D will become more mainstream when cheaper tv's have it. For some people 3D tv's are too expensive at the moment and they probably think that it's not worth the extra money

        • 3D TV is good to watch more as a novelty. I agree that it will eventually be considered another gimmick and not an essential feature.

        • I think you'll find most people don't like nor have any interest in 3D. Everyone I talk to avoids 3D sessions at the movies. Not because of price, because it's pointless gimmick that ruins the movie.

        • I can't even see 3D, but I bought this tv for the Dual Play feature so I can play PS3 games with another person fullscreen. For anyone who is interested, apparently Dual Play can be done on most passive 3D tvs, not just on LG ones that market the feature.

        • 3DTV will not become mainstream unless and until it's cheap and you don't need to wear goofy glasses to watch a movie. At the moment, I imagine the cost of making a 50" parallax barrier screen is very, very high. Not to mention the 3D effect has about a 3 degree viewing angle. 3DTV is not even close to as revolutionary as the move from B/W to colour - it's just not. I think that's close to an objective statement. For my subjective statement (aka - my opinion) 3D is a gimmick and will die a natural death within the next few years.

Your link goes to the 42" version, which is the same price as the 47": http://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-lcd-led-plasma/lg/47-fhd-led-lcd…

I bought one yesterday at the old price, contacted the JB store I bought it from expressing my disappointment and they said they would be happy to refund the difference ($104.40) if I head back with the original receipt.

nice i thought it was a good price yesterday at 896 thats a great price! - have updated yesterdays post as well.

hopefully anyone who bought it at that price can get it at the new price without too much hassle…

    • Any ideas how? I got mine from the good guys… :(

      • call them and tell them its the wrong modle, can they please cancel it so you can order the correct one… if they offer to do it for you just tell them your still making up your mind on the final one.

Back to the good guys I go!

  • Good deal… But too freakin big for my house! Why isn't anyone doing decent deals on good 40" or 42" TVs?!?

    • +4

      Get a bigger house

    • +1

Believe me, 47" is considering small nowadays. Initially, I thought 46" is big but now I wish I have bought a 55".

      • I found that the picture quality of the big boxes is pretty crappy if you aren't far enough away. The smaller ones end up looking better. Try it out in a store. Probably down to the quality of the input…

      • Ditto.

  • I just bought my JB gift cards at 5% from entertainment book too!

  • which one is better compare to Toshiba deal on 47VL900?

    • Yeah…i would like to know that too :)

  • no built-in wifi for this one.

    • I believe there is Ethernet connection
      From their website:
Compatible (Wi-Fi dongle (AN-WF100) is required for wireless access and will need to be purchased separately)

      • +1

Yeah there is ethernet. I plugged mine in and it asked if I wanted to update the firmware.
It found my media server without me fiddling with the settings

        • the 6700 has wifi built in, but i dont really use it, wired networks are typically more reliable… and quicker for larger files… pretty cool how it just works.

        • Same here. Wifi is unreliable and sometimes slow. Less things to go wrong with ethernet. :)

    • Confirm? That's a shame as it seem like oversea model have built in wifi.

  • For those who have bought this TV, please give a review?

    Thanks!

    • I can only compare it to my old 47' Sony LCD and it's so much better than that. Half the price I paid 4 years ago aswell.
Only complaint I have is the short power lead but that can easily be replaced. Apart from that, I am well pleased with it.

  • Could anyone else chime in on how good this TV is?

I currently own a Sony Bravia 32" Full HD KDL32CX520 TV, but I'm thinking of upgrading. I watch Full HD TV quite a bit, movies and such - could anyone else give me a short review of this TV?

  • It's good!

I bought this yesterday for $896, and they just refunded me the difference today.

    I'm quite happy with it!

  • don't forget to use ING card to get extra 5% cashback :)

  • Finally took the plunge and bought 1 - 47LM6200 ..Can't wait to play with it :) Thanks "theearth" for the deal

  • Today I used a screen shot from the Good Guys website of their $696 offer to get a $64 gift card as a post-purchase price match from JB Hi Fi in Bendigo having bought this TV from them for $760 on 16/12. The manager initially gave a few excuses (e.g. that price is below JB cost, but it's a boxing day sale price, etc) but I held my ground. I was happy with the card over cash as I'm sure to buy something from JB in the next two years before it expires. To celebrate the windfall I bought the Marquez guitar for $79 just listed on OzB. Love this time of year.
