Apple iPad 10.9-inch 64GB Wi-Fi [10th Gen] $497 + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

240

Looks like the price has come down with the arrival of the 11th Gen on 12/3. Note the new iPad will have 128GB Storage as standard, is $599 and this has 64GB. I'm not sure which one I'll buy…

Knowing how long it takes Apple to increase RAM in their devices,Yes. It will last you for a few centuries, knowing them they probably still wont standardise 128gb ram in 2110

        • +1

          few centuries

By that time, darwins evolution theory would have been hacked by AI and the apple will evolve into a banana.

Imagine people walking around bragging about their new 16" Banana Ultra with touch controls

Get the 11th with 128gb. 10th was released 2 1/2 years ago and will be soon in planned obsolescence. The new one has double storage more ram and 2gen ahead processor
Apple Edu has it for $559 and you might get 7% cashback as well (not sure)

    The 11th is 6gb Ram, 128gb storage.
The 10th is 4gb ram and 64gb storage.
The extra $100 for the new one feels worth it.

    • For sure

      10th gen CPU: A14
      11th gen CPU: A16

For me, I'll definitely choose the A16 iPad over this A14 if I were in the market for a base iPad.

Buy from the Apple education store and you'll be paying just $62 extra.

      • Thanks - ordered from the Ed store.

do you have school age children

you have the option of enrolling in tertiary short courses

no? hope they don't find out, but the worst they can do is cancel your order

      • Can you get the edu discount at the Apple Store? Flying out on Friday, and want to claim TRS too

      • For the non-legitimate, most people just order for delivery as you don’t get asked for ID that way. In store it’s much more likely to be asked but not always the case.

Dont forget the woolies discount apple gift cards. Works out to be roughly 10% back in reward points. I got a $500 one. Added it to my account and ordered on the edu store

      • The GCs work on EDU store?

        • +1

Yeah. I just added it to my apple account and they were there are checkout

Don’t get this. Get the iPad A16 which was released last week on the edu store for $559 with 128GB.

Just wait for the new ipad,

  • It has been this price since last year

  • What are people using for screen protector? I'm thinking of getting Spigen EZ Fit

    • +1

Given the price of the iPad and the price of the glass, I don’t think it is worthwhile to buy. Better to buy a case with a cover to protect the screen.

  • compared with ipad11, lower than $399 is the proper price for ipad10.

Hey guys, is there a way I can use facetime without an apple device?
Aunt wants an ipad just to facetime and I'm not a big apple fan. The rest of her family are all iSheep so she needs any device for facetime.

      • Thank you!

    • +2

Don't make her life more complicated. Just get an iPad if that's her main reason. Convenience > your preference/bias

      • $$$ is a very big factor here. Single, old, between houses. Low priority expense atm, so trying to provide solutions. Always good to learn ways to get past limitations the tech world impose on you.
        Thanks.

        • I appreciate that and in all honesty it's a big factor for many. I just see this as a device for the sole purpose of being a reliable communication device. I think it's ideal to help family particularly the ones tech naive (not saying your aunty is) to just simplify the process.
My dad is a pixel owner but all our family use Google meet so it's different for us.so it made sense to give him android.

  • Just $100 lmao. It should be priced below $400

  • Get the newer one. The 10 is 3 years old now. Bought the 10 for my daughter a month ago and regret it now but had to get it for an overseas trip
