Random Facts on the original Nintendo Switch Launch
The Switch was officially released on March 3, 2017, worldwide in Japan, most English-speaking and Western markets and in the United Arab Emirates.[48] It was released with an MSRP of ¥29,980 in Japan, US$299.99 in the United States, £279.99 in the United Kingdom, and A$469.95 in Australia; with standardized pricing for the European market varying.[49][50][51] The set includes a Switch console, a dock; left and right Joy-Con controllers and accompanying straps; a Joy-Con grip, an AC power adapter and an HDMI cable.[52][53] There were two Switch bundles available at launch, one with grey Joy-Con and one with neon red and blue Joy-Con.[54] Nintendo feared that a higher price would harm sales, which prompted them to not include any additional hardware or games.

  • ehh.. more hoping this means that the current one will drop in price? links plz

Not really a deal. Also, this some of the things Nintendo has done ranks as some of the most anti consumerist actions by a company. The future is troubling.

  • RRP = not a deal

  • No OLED screen, Its EB Games at full RRP and its also cheaper elsewhere.

    404 No deal found.

  • Sorry - RRP is not a bargain.

  • -6

This system has no OLED and cannot even run the loading screen of GTA 6

  • Cheaper at Officeworks

  • +5

RRP is a problem here but all the 9070 XT posts that are at RRP is fine

glad to see Ozbargain treats all companies the same,eh?

I find it funny that people will pay 4 figures for a GPU to play games masquerading as AAA.

      • I doubt half of the people are even buying, people online just have a need to upvote anything AMD no matter what

  • Appreciate the effort in the post, lots of people are hyped for the Switch 2, but I just cant see the deal. This pre-order price of $699 seems to be available everywhere so there really is no deal. Possibly closer to launch there might be some actual deals or freebies thrown in.

Regarding other comments about RRP, if you're struggling to find a graphics card at RRP and then someone is actually selling at RRP then I can see how that is a deal. If Aldi are selling an item at RRP which is cheaper than most other stores and the quality is similar (or better quality) then I can see how that is a deal. A Switch 2 preorder at the standard price everwhere, no, no deal for me.

  • I am thinking of cancelling my pre-order from sanity for $690 (including mario). Can someone tell me where the eb games gift vouchers for 10% are located? I heard sanity is not good with warranty.

  • Cheaper literally everywhere else. And also EB…… yuck.

    • +3

And yet it still sold out.

  • we don't like the price!

  • +4

Personally, I think this is the best deal… It's the only one with a $50 deposit. A month of interest on $719.95 at 5% PA would be $3.29, so it basically evens out.

    • +1

Ah that is only true if we tuck the $719.95 away to accrue interest.. but this is OzBargain… our FOMO will eat into the savings in a blink of an eye..

Out of stock now, bundle deal with Mario Kart still available, while some have downvoted remember this offer just needs $50 to secure, not the entire cost.

    • Do you want to add it to your original post?

Thanks OP, a little slow on the uptake with the pre-ordering on the Switch 2 but have just put a pineapple down for the MK bundle.

    • Welcome

  • Appreciate this is an RRP "deal" but out of all the retailers doing preorders besides Sanity, EB Games has one of the better all year around discounted egifit cards without relying on Ultimate/third party gift cards.

Put my preorder in now (used $50 GC at 7.5% off), and confirmed with store that I can pay the rest off using gift cards in store (must be done in store).

Note: EB Games website only allows one GC at time of purchase online for preorder, and the most I could find was $500 on a single egift card hence I didn't pay the entire balance at preorder.

    • Put my preorder in now (used $50 GC at 7.5% off)

Please do tell where to source GC @ 7.5% off

For me it's through Redeem your gift card but that's for certain super fund members. It does have a fee attached but can be paid with CC so I'm also considering just buying through Macquarie for 7% using my bank balance.

FYI, I always check this page: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards
