Your globalist utopia is over. Stone cold dead. Cry harder.

Your govt funded lifestyle has a clock that is ticking. Not too much longer before we begin to fix things here too.

      • +3

I hope you are have at least 8-9 fugures in your bank account. Cause if we turn into the distopia thats USA, it's no fun if you're not at the very top. I know that egalitarian values are almost dead in Australia but be careful what you wish for.

        • I have colleagues in America performing the same roll. None of them have mentioned the hardship of their dystopia. I must ask them if they are ok.

I do recall being in a taxi with one of them in Europe just prior to the 2016 election and this fella from Oregon was so upset with my prediction of a trump win that he jumped out and went back to his hotel crying I expect. He still works for us so can’t be that bad.

As someone who does go to work I think I would take my chances over there. Much more frightening has been the calls for more government and nannying by people here in Australia. Truly scary stuff.

          • +1

            @tmcn85: “the same roll”

            I feel hungry

          • +1

@tmcn85: Glad things work out well for you. I guess it will be impossible to convince you that people who rely on government support to survive are not bludgers or that they didn't make it in life because of circumstances that they failed to overcome. In other words, those that fails to crawl out of a hole deserves to rot in there. Survival of the fittest, right?

I just want to say that I hope majority of Australians don't think like you. Because for every one of your "colleague that didn't quit", there are dozens more Americans that got really fat eating burgers because they can't afford to eat better (or didn't get educated enough to make good decisions.) Guess what? Burgers are about to get more expensive for them.

All I wish for is that Mexico sends over some of that plump avocados that Americans can't afford anymore, so that more of us can afford smashed avo on toast.

      • Government funded lifestyle…

    • +1

      That's right. Musk…

      • has had more impact on reducing our reliance on fossil fuels than any other human in history

      • has pushed space travel on his own dime more than any other human in history

      • is aggressively reducing bureaucratic waste at the centre of the US feferal economy

… Is definitely worthy of your ire. #hatorz

      • +2

I think you mean "running a for profit electric car company", I doubt he has any wish to reduce reliance on fossil fuel. This is his business. This is like saying Bill Gates has single handedly brought more productivity to people around the world rather than anyone else. No he saw a market opportunity to make money and did that.

Space travel has mostly been lies (mars in 2020, and is pretty much funded by the US govt) - I would argue that is the biggest bureaucratic waste of them all. He might save 100 mil but gets 2 bil to explode his rockets (this was a couple of months ago, you should look into it). For the third point please read this point again, whatever he saves in a week, trump spends on his golf weekends lol.

        Plus lets add some more
        - has more kids who hate him than any other human in history, plus doesn't pay child support or even support these kids
        - man child - called someone saving kids in thailand a pedo (geeeeeeeeeez)
        - does nazi salutes, doesn't apologize or even refute
        - complains when people boycott tesla saying they are rude to him ( seriously)
        - his own AI calls him the biggest misinformation spreader in the ENTIRE WORLD

The quicker you get off brown nosing him, you might feel better about the world

Yeah right, cutting things like Veterans Services, Education, EPA, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Aviation Administration etc. etc.

Most of those keep people safe. healthy and prevent rip offs.

  • +10

Something stinks about this deal. Can anyone else smell that Musky odour? I wouldn't buy this for 50k let Elon 63k + ORC.

    • +1

Everything stinks about felon's enterprises. Buy products from companies led by a psychopathic man child? Nope, I have a social conscience.

      • +1

You are a true social justice warrior , sir.

      • +1

        Somebody has Elon envy, LOL
Does it make your own sad life seem better by hating on others?

        • +3

And hoping that Elon will reach out and say "Come, grab a couple of billions and join the club. We'll help you get rich like us because you speak like one of us".

        • +2

Calling out someone for being a bad person doesn't mean they have envy. This is called having integrity. You should give it a try.

          • +1

@Trentgibbo3: Integrity isn't digesting everything the msm feeds you and regurgitating it on OzBargain

  • +5

Very tempting. But I’m getting the facelift version.

  • +2

    Everything computer

  • +7

So many articles circulating with headlines like 'Tesla owners feel regret' and 'Tesla owners rebadging cars to avoid harassment', it's no surprise there are big discounts on offer. What's the stat now for Australia? 72% downturn? Or is it 75% now? It's hard to keep track of all the winning.

    • +4

Some of it is media spin. Are they depreciating faster than a BMW or a land rover? I'd argue not.
Ps a lot of this is because of European and American tariffs and increase in Chinese production. All broadly good news for us.

Think about how solar panels came down in price from 20k to 3k. You still extract value out of them.

People forget, most cars are depreciating assets.

      • +1

While this might be true in a general sense regarding depreciation (rather than sales volume), you would have to be living in fantasy land to be unaware of the freefall of Tesla sales and share price.

      • Are they depreciating faster than a BMW or a land rover? I'd argue not.

I think you forgot something regarding depreciation. When the battery inevitably fails in 20 years and needs to be replaced for 5 figures minimum, do you think a Tesla would still be worth more than that ice BMW or land rover which arguably would still be worth 4 figures?

    • -3

TheirABC types must read news.com.au a lot.

But I thought they hated Murdoch? What does Grace Tame have to say on this more importantly??

  • +15

F Trumps America, and F Elon.

Take your tarrifs and f off

    • +4

      Ahh.. the three Fs… :)

      • +12

Fascism, fraud and foreclosure. The three horses of the Trumpocalypse.

        • Don't blame the horses. It is the riders who are the problem.

  • +18

Why should we support this company when the owner's in bed with the guy imposing tariffs on our country?

    • -1

Agree, should not support this guy until the tariffs are lifted

    • Do you support child labour?
Do you support unsafe work conditions for workers?

I'm assuming you do, if you are only wanting to boycott Teslas

  • +3

Comes with a free lifetime keying

    • It’s hilarious because keying and damaging teslas will only make more money for the company since they’re the one fixing the damages for the owners (not free of charge of course). The logic of damaging tesla is beyond me.

      • +1

The logic of damaging tesla is beyond me.

Let me explain as if you were 5: if I think the brand of a car is going to be keyed more often, I won't buy that brand.

        • 😂Exactly. Some people are so obtuse.

  • +7

    HODL

    • +24

The guy who hasn't posted a single "deal" in 6 years on site is trying to police who can or can't be on the site…. lol

        • +12

People are entitled to neg a deal if they do not trust the store or do not think it's a deal based on a variety of reasons.

But feel free to neg the comments of people leaving negs (or report them) if you think they're "abusing" the neg feature.
If a comment from a neg voter gets enough negs, it removes their neg vote on the deal.

        • +2

It’s funny though how the mods used to police this religiously (I’ve had many of my negative votes removed, for what where valid reasons) now it seems they’re far more lenient

Although I still disagree with the fact a negative vote needs a comment.

    • +7

Telling that you've reduced it to an 'internet thing'… like the people behind it aren't real people, in the real world, affecting lives of the real average family you speak about… But yeah, internet thing

    • +9

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:voting_guidelines#neg…

      " Purpose:

To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product.

How to cast a negative vote:

Make a comment in the deal post and give your reason for casting a negative vote, then click the vote button."

People should be adding more context when they neg, yes.

Something like this is a business that is known to have poor quality control and build issues.

The CEO makes poor business decisions, appears to be a racist, is prone to publicly making a fool of himself.

This could impact the resale value of this vehicle, and impact how others associate with you. It may also lead to your vehicle being willfully damaged.

I would avoid purchasing this product for these reasons.

    • +3

Elon told me in a ketamine dream that had he solved self driving cars he'd have captured all the democrats inside their teslas and sent them over the border.

    • +1

Whilst I understand the premise, many deals have been negged when a person has had a bad experience with the company not the product.

Also, the deal is questionable because prices are volatile with Tesla and you still have the issue of considering resale value, which could be a real problem if the reputation of Tesla tanks further.

It's also not like there isn't huge competition at that price point from other car makers.

    • -1

People should be free to express their opinion on a product. Are you going to ask for people, who downvoted your comment, to be banned too?

    • +9

So many self centred people posting to support tesla… a company led by such a poor example of humanity that revels in his "chainsawing doge" but publicly breaks into little boy emotions and victim status when his stock prices plunge?

A lot of people in the world have a social conscience. Sorry for you for missing out on such an attribute.

      • -7

        If you have social conscience
Why not support the Only successful EV company from the free world?

Didn’t you care about the environment?

You think BYD is more socially responsible than Tesla?

        Get a grip.

        • +8

It's very disputable about tesla being the only successful EV company in the free world.
Yes, I care about the environment….both the physical and the social environment.
Do I think BYD is causing less harm to the world than elon musk? Most definitely!
I've got a grip on reality…. stop listening to sky news and being deluded.

      • I bet you don't even know what the chainsaw was referencing. Though I'm not sure the US should emulate Argentina's Javier Milei . DOGE is looking unimportant now, in the context of a global trade war.

A lot of people in the world have a social conscience.

But few actually do anything important about it, like build solar power and electric car companies.
They just talk big on the internet.

    • +2

I regularly click on the 200K option on the income polls… but yeah nah, wont pay real dollars for a Tesla when there are so many cheaper better options - as all ozbargainers do.

      • Which car is better than Model Y
        Please let me know.

      How's the "zombie right" going?

      • -4

Only zombies I see on a day to day basis are the hordes of foreign students taking over our neighbourhoods.

        • +3

          Contradiction in terms there doggsy!

Anyone that thinks about social issues is called "woke"… being awake…aware…. having active thought processes.
Anyone that doesn't think about social issues… believing that's what my daddy believed so it's good enough for me, or getting their daily dose of sky news "this is the madness you should think and repeat"…. is acting like a zombie because they can't or don't choose to exercise independent thought.

Now some boofhead is saying that students….. you know…people that study and learn all the time… are zombies?

Have a bit more Koolaid doggsy!

          • @rooster7777: If you were indeed aware you would have seen how we are no longer a high trust society that we used to be, gangs are running about torching shops or macheting people, even killing some innocent people who had nothing to do with the tobacco wars, scams all around from welfare to labour exploitation to money meant for the disabled being swindled by crooks to childcare frauds by a certain demographic but go ahead and virtue signal.

            • @dealsucker: and how many of these criminals are "zombie international students"?

        • I'd like to point out that education is one of Australia's largest exports. There's a reason why it's classified as an export.

      • Anyone that disagrees with the rabid left does not automagically turn into right wing, no matter how hard you scream and shout.

        • +3

Anyone thinking person doesn't automatically turn into left wing, no matter how hard you scream and shout.

          • -1

@rooster7777: I never did. I am not negging a genuine deal nor am i vandalising private citizen cars.

            • +3

@dealsucker: You know what you "never did"…. whatever that means in your mind.
I'm negging an unsatisfactory deal. I'm not vandalising any cars.
You don't like any criticism of tesla, do you?
When did you buy a tesla? before or after elon went crazy?

        • +2

Have you considered that people who hate Musk aren't "automagically" turned in to the "rapid left"?

Maybe people don't generally actually fit in to nice convenient left and right? Crying about the rabid left makes you look silly.

          • @Aureus: Hate musk for all i care but vandalising and destroying property is never okay or rioting destroying billions of dollars of worth of public plus private property (BLM)

            • +4

@dealsucker: Which Ozbargainers are doing that?

              • -1

@Aureus: I mentioned rabid left right? How will you ever know which ozbargainers are and arent anyway?

                • +4

@dealsucker: People here are hating on Musk, which as you said above you don't care about. Although I could have been fooled.

No one here is talking about or encouraging vandalism, so why so grumpy? Tesla vandalism doesn't even appear to be a problem in Australia

                  • -1

@Aureus: Exactly lets turn ozbargain into a political opinion slug fest on every post and start negging genuine deals. I wish mods do something about political posts. This has gone too far.

                    • @dealsucker: The deal is still on the front page, even with 26 negs. People who don't care about Musk either way can still find the deal and avoid the comments.

If you know the comments are going to annoy you on a deal, just don't read them, equally effective as overly-strict moderation.

                    • +2

@dealsucker: Sounds like you need to find a safe space.

You've commented (repeatedly) and upvoted. Perhaps jog on if it's causing you such distress.

    • It’s fine. Imagine how miserable their sad little lives are. Must be why so many on this cheep skate site.

  • +7

Is Tessla have a fire sale? Asking for a friend……..

    • +1

      Yes they’re literally on fire

  • +3

Why is this a bargain when the new model Y is $64k including all inroad costs just because it’s the long range ? Surely having the newer car with cooling seats and facelift is better for the same price.

    • Your very reasonable question is hurting the outgoing model Y owners feelings!

  • +1

Good to see the left still downvoting just based on their political views. Better not buy one incase they burn your tesla down to feel better

    • +3

Honestly I'd be happy if they did that. Let them see first hand how good burning batteries can be for the environment and neighbourhood. Insurance, here we come

    • +7

Hey remember when the right hated EV's and said they soon wouldn't exist and about 70% of US republican voters said they would never buy one? Wild flip flops in MAGA town.

      • +1

Can you explain a bit more clearly where the flip flop is? I might be missing the obvious, I don't know.

Have those same people suddenly started buying Teslas or other EVs en masse? Were they destroying people's Teslas prior to the election and now they are saying it's wrong when other people do it? Were they on OZB negging EV deals like crazy?

  • +1

Great price on an a great car. Not a looker just like the wives and girlfriends of all the flogs neg’n because they like to follow the winds of the current narrative.

  • +7

Model y awd lr, 20" wheels and red paint, drive away NSW 71k. What other ev in this category can you buy with that money? I don't think sealion 7 performance is out, and that has different battery chemistry and many more inclusions (real leather, heads up display etc) so not exactly like for like.. but that will still come in cheaper than this

    • +1

Yes - the new Model Y standard range with wheels and paint and interior options. You and your family’s bottoms will thank you. Don’t spend your money helping clear stock that’s obsolete by this stage.

  • +6

Negging, purely on the basis of the main shareholder. Geeeesh, I am acting like the negging on cashback deals!

  • +14

I'm a loyal ozbargainer, however there must come a point where we say enough is enough. As consumers our only way to make a point is with out spending and when the largest shareholder and director of this company is doing Nazi salutes, and being an un elected government official who's sole purpose is to destroy jobs and peoples lives, it strikes me that maybe there isn't a cheap enough price to support this company.

    • -1

Cut government spending which has been the commitment of every president in recent history. They’re following through and then only way is unfortunately a tough approach, the US is cooked and the continuous deficit cannot go on forever and to wrong like a little fairy because it has consequences is just pathetic and a sign of how much naive plebs like you are mate.

      • +10

Naivety is thinking a bunch of incompetent immature nerds (led by the highest profile example in the world) are the best choice for assessing waste or excess fat in government spending…. leaving aside all the security failure aspects, the social disaster aspects on the vulnerable aged etc etc.

We can however both agree that the US is now cooked.

        • -4

The US has strong leadership and is only beginning to correct. We have the tedious wait for our leaders to be forced to follow.

          • +8

@tmcn85: Hopefully they won’t. If you are so engrossed with Trump and his policies you’ll soon be able to buy a Gold Trump Card for a cool 5 mil and move to the USofA to live the dream (or nightmare)
