Cancelling what? It's a prepaid sim
Ever tried activating? My email is tied to a disposable sim number which doesn't exist anymore from a cashback deal for some reason, even if I provide them all my other ID & email address they can't change the number on my account so I can log in.
I port out, so did not had to cancel with the customer service.
OP, this's clear as mud, seems like a trap & risking $30 ?
This offer is explicitly advertised at https://www.cashrewards.com.au/store/optus-prepaid-sim under "Optus Prepaid SIM Offers & Coupons".

Recent Cashrewards-Optus deal…has T&Cs change? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/890329Genuine question, what make this deal compelling, say compare to TopCashback-Boost deal ?
Deal is the $35 Optus sim for nett $5 if all is ok.
still waiting for this to be paid out. have had some back and forth emails but no progress.
Optus Postpaid Mobile
April 30th
Estimated approval: 28/08/2024 (Due)Total spent: AUD$22.72
Interesting that it doesn't list a time period for activation like that. Been a while since I've bought a sim through Cashrewards.
I bought the $220 sim ($100 cashback), did not activate because it was not a condition on the terms. My cashback was approved on 3 Arp 2025.
is $50 ANZ bonus confirmed? mine still pending
Wait… Sorry I was not referring to the $50 ANZ bonus. I will need to check that.
Not specifically on this deal but I purchased the Optus prepaid sim from last year November through Cashrewards with cashback of $100 in Nov 2024.
The cashback was pending and I needed to follow-up and customer service were unhelpful and just shut me down even after I mentioned I have provided proof of purchase and click history in Cashrewards.
Very disappointed that Cashrewards do so little in ensuring these are properly tracked and honoured. Would not recommend Cashrewards based on this experience.
I also bought the Optus Prepaid Sim, paid $220, cashback $100, approval date 03 April 2025. Did not had to contact CR for this. There was an estimated approval so I decided to wait until that date. The $100 was approved on 03/04.
Purchased over 24 hours ago and no CashRewards tracking email yet.
More than 48 hours and still no tracking email. Sigh.
Same here, purchased on the 9th around 11pm WA time and still no tracking email yet. Cashrewards even had the audacity to send an email two days later asking, "Oops, did you forget to purchase the Optus Prepaid SIM?" 😡
Ouch, rude.
Good luck to both of us for our missing cashback claims once the 7 day wait has lapsed.
I was also interested in the CR Vodafone deal but the one comment there was that CR had tracked at the wrong amount.
Why it's listed expired? It's still going on?
Report the post 'In stock / Available again'.
wonder if esim is also eligible
Cashback is ineligible on the following:
eSIMs
Wondering if this purchase is eligible.
https://www.optus.com.au/prepaid/sim-plans/45-simWhile going to $45 plan via homepage still doesn't show the discounted price, the above link does.
Well hopefully that works. My last SIM was just coming to an end and this offer is still valid.
edit: reported as available again.

Might be interested if anybody reports their purchases actually tracked.
Bought on 11/04. It still hasn't tracked.
Unfortunately they have a track record (pardon the pun) when it comes to Optus. I've had previous Optus purchases not track, but they were manually approved in the end.
Bought more than 10 days ago and didn't track for me. Just submitted a manual claim to CR. My tracking success rate is about 49 out of 50 so this is the rare occasion where I've actually had to submit a claim.
Negging as cashrewards seem to have serious issues tracking Optus cashbacks. Just had a $100 claim rejected by this greedy company. No thanks.
Damn. Yeah Optus is rapidly closing on Lyca for peak Just Say No status.
Just a heads up: Optus SIMs are now for phone only unless they are specifically for modems.
I have been using the Optus $35 40GB SIMs from Woolworths/Coles for years using a Huawei B818 modem with no problems.Today I could activate using the modem but once activated the modem wouldn't connect to internet.
It tooks 5 hours on Optus Chat to figure out they have changed the system to block modems.I had to put the SIM in a smartphone and use a hotspot for my laptop.
I'm currently using the Optus SIM from this deal in a Huawei USB dongle modem with no problem - other than CR tracking (which remains unresolved).
Granted, a dongle modem may be a different beast to your B818 when it comes to how Optus see the device.
Probably due to unlimited data weekend feature. It is back to normal today. Did you enable the auto recharge?
Interestingly, Optus keeps the $35 SP today, but removed unlimited data weekend feature on it. To access it, one must buy $39 or more recharge as the new options. Cashback sites are so slow to update these changes.
They have just blocked modems from using these SIMs its not due to 'unlimited data weekend'.
Ever tried cancelling, not worth the grey hairs for a measly saving.
