Collingwood supporter but respect north and would happily go and watch them play, what a bargain. Roo Roo Roo

    • Norf played Collingwood at Marvel on May 24. $9 gets you into that game?

      • +2

Pretty much the reason why I paid for it. Also enjoy watching footy so happy to go to another two games.

    • me too :)

Priority access to a Grand Final Ticket if the Kangaroos play

    https://imgur.com/gallery/j-jonah-jameson-laughing-collectio…

i got nothing against NM but they should merge with Melbourne both clubs have struggle to fill half stadium for years now the league is over saturated in Victoria - ideally they should of moved NM to tassie but obviously that wont happen now

    • -3

As the season currently stands, if you were to see a simulation or a set of betting odds providing a numerical probability, you might expect a figure on the order of 10–15% for North Melbourne’s chance to reach the 2025 AFL Grand Final.

      Source: ChatGPT.

      • +1

North Melbourne's odds of 81.00 to make the AFL Grand Final translate to approximately 1.23% in percentage terms. This places them among the least likely teams to reach the Grand Final, alongside Richmond and West Coast Eagles

        Source Co-pilot

and even at 1.23% i'd say thats too high

      • That is obviously nonsense but very chat gpt user to paste it brainlessly. If it was truly random teams only have an 11% chance of making the grand final (2 in 18) and actually north are a bottom 6 side. 1% would be generous.

        • -3

haha nice math bud I think you missed the point

    • I agree a merger with either dogs/saints/Melbourne meaning one less team in Melbourne would be great. Or even move to a regional side Bendigo/Ballarat. That way we keep the 18 when Tas join

    • -2

Sorry champ the numbers don't add up. Half the league need special assistance and North sit somewhere in the middle of that group. Also all Vic clubs earn somewhere bw $50m and $100m in revenue, North included, and having ten healthy clubs is a big part of the reason why the competition can fund the expansion teams to the tune of $100m+ each year.

Fun fact - remove the safety net to compress the Vic market and Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, GWS and Port all go under with them. Unless you're suggesting that only Vic clubs are targeted, in which case good luck with that.

      • -1

Think what you want Champ the interstate clubs mostly have room to grow in their market NM dont there is too much over lap between Melbourne NM and St Kilda they are all essentially the same place

Eventually they will fold other merge the way they are going

        • -1

Problem is champ Vic has more people than SA and WA combined. At current projections by 2070 you can almost throw Qld in there as well as the gap is only widening.

Sydney, GWS, GC and Tassie will permanently be on the drip, there is zero chance of being independent. Port and Brisbane maybe but right now they are there too.

Killing a small Vic club will save about $12m p.a. - around 0.25% value of the current media deal. Money talks and the rest is headcanon - rationalisation is decades away.

          • @bjd533: Relocation worked well for South Melbourne (Swans)

Look i actually hope you're right but i reckon the writing might be on the wall for the Kangaroos

            • @Trying2SaveABuck: If you can explain that concern in financial terms I'm all ears. There's a lot of material out there and the more you read the less likely it seems. Half the North board wanted to go to Qld in 2007, the commission threw $100m at the club and it still didn't happen.

Here's a thought - by 2050 SA and WA will almost certainly campaign for an extra club. There are administrators arguing for it now. Throw in one extra location - several smokies exist - and the comp has 22 clubs and the most even fixture since 1986. Who's to say that this is less attractive than the thankless task of killing off footy clubs?

North's remaining home games at Marvel.

Friday 16 April: North vs Carlton (Good Friday)
Saturday 24 May: North vs Collingwood
TBA - North vs Western Bulldogs
    TBA - North vs Geelong
    TBA - North vs Adelaide

Edit: They play a couple other games at Marvel but as the "away" team.

    • 18 April?

    Kangaroos 3 Game Membership $9.00

    $3 per game sounds fair…

  • +2

Can you use all 3 tickets at 1 game? Or you must go to 3 separate games?

    • It’s 3 seperate games. They provide one ticket for each game

      • -2

        Are you sure?

With the Collingwood one, you can use all your tickets for one game and bring family/friends…

They provide one ticket for each game

They are not tickets, you need to redeem them to get a ticket…

To participate in this promotion, all LDU Offer purchases must be made via EasyPay, and will renew as a 3 game GA membership at full price in 2026.

    • +1

Link says can on buy if you commit to buying 2026 at full price. Was gonna get as a gift for my mum. But not with that condition

    • +8

It does say: "With the ability to opt-out prior to renewal."
So I guess you can just cancel before renewal or use a disposable card?

      • +4

It does say that but can't find the cancel renewal option anywhere. I have feeling it's going to be one of those call the Philippines help desk between 3 and 5am on a Tuesday to cancel.

        • +2

Club / membership call centres are local. As in, actually at the club local.

          • @Snoop: All I wanted was a menu option really. I don't care how local the call center is really.

            • +1

@persei7: @persei7, well, despite your feeling of it being located offshore, it's good to know the the AFL clubs employ everyday locals that not only speak the local dialect, but can actually relate to our local current affairs.

P.s. But if you think this is too hard for you, never, EVER sign up with someone like Optus:
1 quick call to sign up to a package, 1 very long call to cancel the 4 services (NBN, phone, Fetch, and email) that are linked within the package.
In compaison, it's a pretty painless task cancelling or changing a football membership, I've done it with my club several times over the years.

              • +1

@Snoop: We are having a straw man argument here. My point is that cancelling is not straight forward. In fact I couldn't find the option at all. Someone had to point out the email address on this forum and I still have to wait a few days for a reply. Sure Optus might be worse. So is getting rubella.

      Thankyou for your contribution

      • I do my best.

    • +1

      You're right. That's why memberships are $9.

      2022 Assistance Package:

A second-round pick and a third-round pick in the 2023 AFL Draft, with the condition that at least one of these picks be traded for a player during the 2022 trade period.

Two additional Category A Rookie list spots.

      2023 Assistance Package:

One end-of-first-round selection in the 2023 AFL Draft (currently pick 19).

Two end-of-first-round selections in the 2024 AFL Draft (currently picks 19 and 20).

Continuation of two extra Category A Rookie list spots for the 2024 season.

These concessions were provided by the AFL to support North Melbourne's rebuilding process.

In 2023, North Melbourne became the highest-funded Victorian club by the AFL, following only Gold Coast and GWS in total league support. The funding is part of the AFL’s broader strategy to help clubs with smaller fan bases or limited commercial opportunities.

Thank you! Great post. I figured I had a point and people were just butt hurt. Dont have to follow footy to be surrounded by the sport in Vic.

  • Anyone know how long it takes for membership details to be sent through? Only received an invoice, purchase was 15 mins ago

    • +2

They only have like 10 members so they might have to hire a membership team before they can process it

    • The website is hot garbage. I think the only way to see it is through the mobile app, which is still garbage but with fewer flames.

  • Ticketmaster website is absolute garbage won't even let me login, Please Try Again Later it keeps saying!

  • Do AFL club memberships still have discounted Kayo?

    To cancel:

17.4 If a member wishes to cancel their membership, an email must be sent to Membership Services to [email protected] or a written letter can be sent via post to PO Box 158, North Melbourne VIC 3051 or dropped off in person at Arden St reception.

    • +2

I wonder why signing up isn't just as "convenient".

  • Does this include the Grand Final?

    • OP's summary does explain

  • Not that I giv a rat's, coz I'm not a Norf s'porter…
But you'd have to feel a little peeved if you payed full fare before the start of the season.
How many teetering members will just wait a few weeks before signing up early in future.

    • I will admit I’m a bit miffed that I spent $79 on this exact package before the season started. It is what it is I guess

  • +3

OP - this does not give you access to the Grand Final:

Priority three access to a Grand Final ticket should NMFC qualify

They had 50,600 members last year and would be allocated 20,000 tickets. Priority 3 would get zero.

  • And then they'll say they broke membership records when they are giving them away.

    • +2

First time I've seen North do this, where as I've seen Pies, Dogs, Port and Sydney do very similar, no doubt your team too. It gets people to games who couldn't normally afford it so poopy to you.

  • +2

    I think it's because Luke Davies Uniacke re-signed and he's number 9.

  • +1

    Wish this gave me Kayo

  • -1

Irrelevant club should move to tassie

  • Great timing thanks op.
As a Pies member, I was going to buy an away ticket for $27 to see Norf v Pies at Marvel.
I might also go to cheer on Norf v Blues next week.

  • So as I pie fan I can get tickets to north and Collingwood for myself and 4 others?

  • Does anyone know how to select which 3 games?

    • +2

When I sign in to my account on https://am.ticketmaster.com/kangaroos/my-events I have three game tickets automatically assigned. I didn't get an option to choose which games I want to go. I was really hoping to go to the Easter Friday game.

      • Likewise :(

    • It’s really dodgy. The signup and trying to find how to choose games or getting your $30 voucher was terrible. Did anyone get any email from them at all? I didn’t.

But I downloaded their app and you can see the list of games in the fixture section. But if you just click on the game, it gets you tickets and it seems like you can’t cancel them on the app.

  • +1

It also gave me preselected games all in may, one of which I can't make, the other two being on Sunday night which I have 0 desire to attend

    • Okay i had to call up and ask for my membership number as it wasnt showing up, then go to the fixture tab in the app, find the match and press unlock member tickets, and use the member number as the coupon.

Also paid with a revolut virtual card which gave me the option to block future payments

      • +1

The member number didn't work for me but I received an email this evening with barcodes to redeem tickets for the Easter Friday game. For those of you waiting to book, check your inbox. You can also view your bar codes directly on this link

  • I've had a look, can anyone confirm if was actually the next 3 home games for North or could we pick the actual games? Looking at my account it shows that this week's game is the last one I can access?

    • +1

My understanding is the barcodes work for three home games at Marvel stadium or the replacement games at the MCG.
